Sathut (Counselor) in CNS Office, TAG Commander D'vash Odinson : His message to the Captain sent, Sathut moved on, checking the next name on the list. Ah, the executive officer. Before sending the message, he read a bit of the man’s file. Some of it seemed to be redacted, which he assumed to mean the man had worked with the secret-not-so-secret Starfleet Intelligence. Something Sathut may or may not be qualified to ask him about. Best not to, he decided, moving on. =Sathut to Commander D’vash Odinson. I’d like to see you in my office at your earliest convenience. I look forward to our meeting. Sathut out.=^= : : He smiled and placed his PADD down once again. : : - Sathut No sooner had the counselor set the Padd down when an incoming message arrived. =^=Counselor, this is Cmdr. Odinson. Give me 15 minutes and I’ll be there.=^= At exactly 15 minutes later, the chime rang outside Sathut’s office. Odinson (XO)The door opened with a shhk, revealing the counselor’s office behind. The decor of the office was strange, to say the least. Other than the nice, human-sized couch, everything looked like it had been manufactured for a child. The desk was half the height of a normal one, and even the computer looked small. There was a chair opposite to the couch that, strangely, was proportioned for a child but was tall, almost like a high chair. The counselor himself, well…
The man was a feline alien, no more than three feet in height when standing. He wore a sleeveless flowing Turquoise robe, with gold, silver, and reddish embroidery covering it in intricate detail. Honestly he’d rather wear nothing in regards to cloth, but that didn’t seem to be approved of around here. On his ears were a selection of bright golden rings, some with small gems embedded in them. His wrists bore woven rope bracelets, the right arm wrapped from wrist to elbow in braided twine. His right leg, although not visible from where he was seated, bore an intricate silver brace, the metal woven in its own patterns.
The small alien stood and walked to the open door to greet his guest. “Greetings,” he said, his head dipping respectfully. His palm rested on his chest, then extended out in a graceful motion towards the male. “May your hearts beat strongly, and your love grow wide,” he spoke as he performed the action, then pulled his hand back, folding his hands in front of himself.
D’vash inclined his head and replied, “Counselor, it’s a pleasure.” The XO then smirked about the love growing wide comment. If the Counselor only knew. . .
When he did this, it would be shown to D’vash that on his hand he had three fingers and a thumb, as opposed to the regular four and a thumb. “Thank you for coming. Please, take a seat,” he spoke, gesturing to the comfortable looking couch, then moving over to his chair and gracefully leaping into it. He sat like a house cat, his hands folded beneath his chest.
- Sathut
The XO scrutinized the cat-man under his steel-blue eyes. He had never owned a pet as a child, but Sathut was now possibly the closest he would ever come. With his diminutive size, he looked more like a common house cat than even the Caitians. (OOC: Hope that’s an okay way to describe what he sees.)
As he moved toward the couch, D’vash said in his voice of crushed gravel, “Welcome aboard, Counselor. I hope you’ve found your accommodations and quarters the correct size for your stature. I took the liberty of having the quartermaster replicate items and furniture more appropriate for your stature. I thought it might make you transition to a new ship more bearable.”
Odinson (XO)
“Yes, thank you,” Sathut said with a slight nod. He had, of course, sent word ahead to the same individual of his requirements regarding stature, so he hoped the Quartermaster had not been annoyed by the duplicate messages. “I’ve become accustomed to varying sizes of accommodations and can function with human-sized furniture, but having things my size is, at the very least, convenient.” He did have what amounted to a small staircase to reach the replicator in his quarters, but that was fine.
“Now then. Before we begin, is there anything you’d like to drink?” the small alien asked with a charming smile.
Sathut
“As a matter of fact, yes, I would,” D’vash replied. “An ice-cold glass of grape Kool-aid would be appreciated.”
Taking a seat on the couch, D’vash waited for the response to his drink of choice. It was an unusual drink of choice for an adult, not the usual water, tea or coffee, nor an alcoholic beverage. Still, the XO enjoyed seeing people’s reaction when he mentioned the drink.
Odinson (XO)
“Kool-aid?” Sathut wondered aloud. It was clear on his face that he didn’t even know what that was. “Well, certainly,” he said with a sudden smile, stepping over to the replicator and ordering the liquid. He sniffed it, finding it to be quite sugary smelling. “Here,” he handed the drink to the man. “Now, Commander. How are you feeling this evening?”
Sathut
D’vash grinned at the counselor’s reaction. “Yes, Kool-aid. A childhood vice I’ve never been able to give up.”
He accepted the cup and adjusted himself to a comfortable position. “How am I feeling?” he repeated the question.
“Actually, I’m feeling quite satisfied, Counselor. We were able to rescue the survivors from Forester’s World, with minimal injuries. Those that were injured, our crack medical staff were able to patch up effectively. Civilians on the ship volunteered to help with the children until they could be reunited with their families, and as of right now, it seems everyone will live happily ever after. All in a days work, right?”
