The XO sat down in the center seat and began punching in a command to the console. “If my override commands don’t override things, then. . . . ” He offered Sural a look that implied “We’re screwed”.

Odinson (XO)

Beid walked onto the bridge and looked around. “What is going on? All the systems are acting very strange.”

Beid, CSO

“Something has affected our computer and altered its programming. That, or a highly classified subroutine has engaged and initiated a security lockdown. I presume that there is another factor involved as we have slowed our velocity and our outside defenses are not accessible,” he explained to Beid. “The computer responds to questions, however if it feels that one is prying it threatens punitive measures against you. You do not have any such experimental programs in your lab do you, Lt?” Sural asked, which, coming across dry as a Vulcan, might have one wonder if that was a joke or an inquiry.

Beid simply looked at Sural and appeared in deep thought for a moment. “No. Nothing that would perform like this. How can I help?”

Sural’s PaDD beeped. It was another message from Crawford. He studied it then reported. “Sir, I’ve been sent a report of a ship wide power drain. It is small and would likely not be noticed if we weren’t looking for something, but there is a greater drain in the storage areas off the deflector dish, decks 31 and 32.” He handed the PaDD to the XO.

“I’m going to take a shot in the dark here and say that whatever has taken control of the computer is hooked into the system down there. And whatever ‘It” is is going need a lot of power to take over our sophisticated computer system.”

The XO rubbed his chin and thought for a moment. “You up for a trip down to those decks, Sural?”

Turning to the security guards by the lift, D’vash ordered, “You two, accompany Lt. Sural down to deck 31 & 32 to check out that drain. I suggest stopping by sickbay to inform Lt. Oberon that that is where you’re headed. Let’s try to avoid ships comms in case someone is listening in.”

Looking back to Sural, he addressed the CSO once again. “Let me know what you find, Sural. Again, use the PAdd to communicate instead of internal ship comms.”
