Oliver scratched at his right hand a little as he walked toward sickbay. Truth was that it had been hurting a little lately, especially where the metal hand met his still organic wrist. Still, he felt fine enough. He’d grown accustomed to doctor’s offices, so sickbay didn’t seem like it was going to be too nerve wracking.

As he passed through the doors he looked around and called out, “Uh… Hello? I’m Ensign Pierce here for my medical check in.”

As Pierce entered, a blue uniformed man with blond hair, tan skin, and a broad toothy smile was coming from the opposite end of the room. He looked up at the sound of the man’s voice.

“Ensign Pierce, eh?” he asked, crossing the space between them. “I’m Dr. Harding. I take it you’re new aboard. Welcome. Why don’t you get up on the biobed here, while I pull up your file. How was your journey to the Olympic?”

Oliver tried to maintain a convincing smile , “Well they put me on a shuttle so that… was fine. It was fine.” He sat on the biobed and waited patiently. He looked around the room a bit impressed. He’d been in his fair share of hospitals, but none quite so advanced as one on a starship. “This is a neat space you have. Uh, sir, I mean.”

“Shuttles and transporters are a common part of the job, I’m afraid,” Harding mused.

He had no aversion to either. His own career had started with the Starfleet Marines who often found themselves in less than ideal or safe settings and he’d enjoyed the adventure.

“How’s your health? Extended space travel can cause a bit of vertigo, nausea, and fuzziness for those not used to it. Even Starfleet officers. And your hand? Any challenges there recently?”
