Valkris didn’t comment, but her mind recalled how easily things escalated into a fight within her family. She hoped it wasn’t genetic. Her head nodded her agreement, though her expression didn’t reflect any sense of enjoying it.

“Alright,” her tone was polite.

Conrad got into the center seat. “Why don’t you get yourselves settled in. You have an hour and we will convene in the Sparrow’s lounge for the meeting. The briefing room is…shall we say in disarray.”

“Sounds good to me,” Halai said with a light smile.

Once he was given clearance to take off he sent the coordinates of Tyrellia to Kira. “Lay in a course, cruising speed.”

Valkris nodded. Seeing nothing more to ask or say, she then turned toward the direction where the quarters were. Her figure exited the bridge in favor of quieter settings. She had a lot to think about while they traveled.

“Anything you want me to do?” Rob asked Halai softly.

She eyed her bodyguard. “Don’t panic,” she said with mock seriousness.

“Halai…”

“Enjoy the trip there. You’ll be really on when we get there, so rest up while we can. And hey, we’re off Oed now. We can breathe a little. No one is out to get me, at least not here,” she said knowingly.

Any security type would likely scoff at that statement, but Rob gazed into her gold-ringed eyes and simply nodded. “I’ll go check out my digs then. I’ll see you at the meeting.”

Halai nodded and watched him walk away. she gazed at Conrad for a moment and then bowed her head before moving off to take her own leave.
