Akem nodded thoughtfully. “That is quite true,” he stated as he finished his scans. “For instance…”

He turned to face her now, his eyes trained right on her own. “I thought perhaps you were feeling quite comfortable,” he then put his hand on her shoulder, gently but firmly (if that makes any sense at all). “But your body tells me otherwise. You’re quite fatigued. You’ll make it through the trip fine, but I would recommend you relax until we get to Tyrellia.”

“Oh a comedian!” she exclaimed with amusement. “Given the circumstances, relaxation hasn’t been much in my vocabulary.” Even so, his touch generated energy in her skin she could feel and it was both intriguing as well and triggering her other senses acutely.

He paused as he lifted his hand and considered his next words. “I don’t share this with too many people, but I do specialize in therapies that may assist. Nothing long term. I have special…skills…in relaxing and rejuvenating individuals. Its generally a business, but given I’m currently operating as a physician aboard a civilian ship at the moment, I could offer you my services for free.” He smiled politely, curious how she might react.

Her gold-ringed eyes were intense as she gazed at him. “Hmmm, that does sound potentially interesting and even wonderful. And far be it from me to ignore the advice of a health professional.” Halai leaned forward ever so slightly. “I might actually take you up on that offer.”

The Deltan grinned. “Where and when? I’m open to either doing it in this medical area, or a place you might feel a bit more comfortable. Perhaps a place not so open?” he spoke. He could not only see, but feel her intense gaze. And he certainly held onto that gaze. Most would probably find the intensity perhaps intimidating. However, he could appreciate it for what it was.

She smiled and some of her previous serenity returned. “Well, as much as I’m getting used to everyone knowing my business, and as much as I am an open person, I could use a bit more privacy at times right now. My quarters, whatever they turn out to be, would be fine with me.”

Akem nodded. “Well, it would seem that you are cleared to continue as you were on the Sparrow. Once you’re settled in, send me a message here and I’ll be sure to meet you whenever you like.” He offered her a hand to help her from the makeshift biobed. Truth be told, the Black Sparrow needed work, especially here in the medbay. But that could wait, depending on the needs of…well, the crew.

Slipping her hand into his, she slipped off the biobed, even though she didn’t need any help at all. All Halai knew was that she wanted to touch him and confirm something she was feeling. She’d have to mull over the result later. “Thank you,” she said softly. “I’ll see you later.

Akem watched her as she made her way out, not unaware of her swaying curves.

Leaving the medical bay, Halai could feel his attention on her and it was, well, intriguing. As much as she was interested, she knew she had to be careful. She always had to be careful, but such was the nature of being whatever exactly she was.
