In the Government Tower on the third floor from the top in the main conference room, a meeting took place on the last Friday of every month. It was a meeting of the upper echelons of the Police, the five District Commanders and their main lieutenants, the Police Commissioner and his deputy. They discussed important matters regarding their districts and how to proceed. Today was no different. The small group arrived punctually and were scattered across the large table engaging in small talk, each of the five Commanders exchanging recent stories and similar tidbits. After a few minutes of this, the door opened and the Large Police Commissioner entered the room, the familiar clicking of his cane a dead giveaway. The five uniformed Officers turned around and exchanged greetings with the Icelander, their Lieutenants moved to their respective leaders. A few paces behind Johann his deputy Commissioner held a few PaDDs and seemed mildly annoyed at something, not an uncommon occurrence.

After a moment all of them were seated and began the meeting. Like always they started with the Government District Commander, a middle-aged man with a rather impressive mustache. “We’ve had about a dozen new application for a pickpocket license, we have about five available for this summer so it’ll be a few days before I send my approvals through, I’ll be writing a memo soon about increasing the number of licenses to send to the Chamber of Commerce.” He explained, the government district was considered a cushy job to most as the job mostly entailed guarding Cabinet members and other vital areas. After a few more minutes he had finished his report.

Next was the Residential Commander “We’ve seen a decrease in break-ins since the Shadow King was brought down, on the other hand, we’ve had an increase in domestic calls especially in the larger housing areas, I believe we’ll see a few divorces and separations in the coming months” The Residential Commander was a sort Martian woman with shoulder-length hair “Other than that there are no significant increases in Criminal activity, although we’ve had the occasional noise complaint due to lengthy parties.” She smiled slightly “And a few people have expressed concern with a large man running at the break of dawn across their neighborhood being followed by several hoverbikes” The rest of the Commanders exchanged knowing glances “Including one Commander Gibbons” She indicated to the mustachioed man who laughed at her comment “Apparently he’s been badgering him to go out jogging” Joseph smiled at her comment “I do apologize” He started “My security detail was beginning to tire running with me so I allowed them to follow me on vehicles, I’ll try to delay my morning runs to a mroe acceptable hour” The RC continued for a few more minutes with mundane matters before finishing her report.
