Brianna shook her head and looked at her plate to finish her ‘burger’. “Really?” Was all she could say and laugh. “So, Urg… I will reach out and make sure the Governor knows of our little jaunt in the morning and I will be happy to see what this system of caverns is up to. What time would you like me to meet you there?” She finished her mug and set it on the table. She was already going to be heading back tipsy. No point in allowing herself to get full blown drunk.

HoM“Whenever you feel like getting there, Fire-Born. I will be there when you arrive.” and he stood up and nodded to her. “See you tomorrow.” and he turned and left. K’Letn looked at her and just started laughing.

She shook her head and laughed. “I think I should get to my ship and do the same,” she mentioned to B’ghal. She glanced to the Lady and smiled. “I have enjoyed this evening. Please extend my thanks to Urg once more.” She rose from the bench wanting to get to her own bed sooner rather than later.

HoMB’Ghal rose and nodded at K’Letn, who waved him off as if answering a question. “I’ll escort you.” and he led her out of the dining hall. “This way.” and he began leading her down the passageways.

As they headed back to her ship, hoping the walk would clear the fog creeping in. “I have to ask… what was the laugh between you two?” She motioned back behind them to the dining hall. “I feel like suddenly I’m a punchline to a bad joke I never heard to begin with.” She gave a small laugh.

HoMB’Ghal looked at her and said “You aren’t a joke.” and then remained silent for the rest of the walk. As they came into the shuttle bay, B’Ghal moved into the shuttle and settled into the pilot’s seat. “You have been drinking. I will take you back. Buckle in.” and he began bringing the shuttle on line.

She let the silence ride till they got to the shuttle. When he stepped in and took the pilot seat, she frowned. “I’m not that far into my cups, thank you very much. But I guess arguing is pointless, you’d probably just knock me out or tie me up.” She buckled in and waited till they were warmed up and out and clear of the Klingon ship before she spoke again. “So continue… I’m not a joke… that never answered my question.” She turned to him, shifting in the seat and pulling one of her legs up to wrap her arms around. “Talk to me, B’Ghal… please. Something tells me this isn’t the last time I’m going to see you. And there was something between you and Urg. And it had to do with me.” She wasn’t going to let it go. Her tone was proof of that.

HoMThe Klingon flew on in silence for a few moments and then said “Those questions have answers that are not mine to share.” and he commed for clearance to the docks. “Do not worry about others. Worry about yourself. Lord Duroc has aligned himself with you. Your approval of that alignment is irrelevant. But know that being an ally of House Duroc is dangerous. Your colony’s Police know of this. Ask Karlson, the police-man. Or Pangolin. They know well. The shadows of the past have a long reach… and claws as well.”
House Duroc
“Dangerous? How so? As in ‘I’m gonna end up deep spaced next time I walk down a hall’ or ‘loss of reputation because I’m consorting with eccentrics?” She thought about the names, Karlson she was familiar with in name and position only. Pangolin she hadn’t heard of at all. “You are telling me to not get the Governor’s approval to have House of Duroc as a Mining Benefactor?” She wasn’t sure where all this was coming from all of a sudden. Sure, Urg was a bit batty. But most Klingons were. She wasn’t sure how that would get her into the dangerous situation that he made sound so extreme.

HoMB’Ghal shook his head. “Do your job as you should. But know that you -” and he turned his head and looked directly at her, “- need to make sure you know personally what comes from such… assistance.” And with that, he steered the shuttle into the final decent to the docks.

Brianna took a deep breath and let it out. Her body turning back to the front, her foot sliding off the chair to rest on the deck once more. “I’ll do my job. As to being careful, I’ll be fine there as well. I may not be a Klingon female, but I’m no fair Lady, either. I can look after myself.” She didn’t look at him. She wasn’t happy and made no bones about letting him know.
