<snip>“B’ghal.” he said and then looked at Urg. Urg smiled and gave a short nod, and the Klingon sat next to her. “The wound was nothing. A scratch.” he said, but as he reached past her to get a tankard of wine, the scent of cauterized flesh and very strong antiseptic was readily apparent.
House Duroc
Her nose automatically turned up a moment but she playfully shoved him back as he sat back down. “Guess that’s a good thing or I’d be having ‘guardian burgers’ for dinner, eh?” She laughed and took a sip of the wine, and went back to her meal. “How is your companion, my other guardian?” She glanced around trying to find the one she spoke of.
Looking across the table, she smiled to Urg. “They were the perfect guards, Lord Urg. Thank you for sending them with me.” She nodded respectfully to him and smiled with a slight raise of her glass.

HoMUrg bellowed “I expected nothing less, and I was not disappointed!” which illicited a round of cheers and several claps on the back to B’ghal. He looked at Bri and said “He will recover. His wound was severe, but he is strong.” and he grabbed a handful of gagh and began eating.
Urg looked at Brianna and said “Did you find what you were looking for today?”
House Duroc
Brianna nodded, “B’ghal,” she said as he settled beside her. When the cheering rose up, she leaned to her guardian, “Perhaps I can see him when Ur…Lord Urg is done talking with me, this evening?” She needed to see he was all right, for herself. Afterall, it was her fault he was in medical.
Looking back at Urg as he questioned her, she smiled. “I found the where but not the what to what I was seeking. It seems the area isn’t as empty as I thought.” She waved a hand at B’ghal. “As they can attest to. I will see about an exploration of the location at another date. But thank you, without your help I wouldn’t have gotten all the intel I have.” She smiled and with eyes meant just for him, she nodded respectfully. He had saved for her career and her sanity by his intervention. She had no Earthly ideal how the outcome of that altercation would have gone had Urg not stepped in.

HoMHe smiled at her and said “And what would such an… ‘exploration’… consist of, eh?” and he leaned forward and locked onto her eyes with his own. K’Letn saw and lifted a tankard to her lips and said “Don’t look too deep… it will make you doubt reality.” so softly that only Brianna could hear it.
House Duroc
She took a sip of her wine to hide her lips as she replied. “I never trusted reality…” After having a drink, she looked back, her head cocked slightly to the side to peer at him.
“A team of miners, scientists, and engineers. They would test the rock, check the structure for soundness and see if whatever asset was in there was played out, yet.” She crossed her arms on the table and leaned on them, almost mirroring him.

HoMAs she looked, Urg’s eyes… changed. The shift was subtle, but as she watched his eyes went from dark and amused to… deep. Deeper and deeper, and filled with a reddish glow like embers starting to burn in a fire pit. There was something in them, a presence, that was both wholly beautiful and wholly terrifying all at once.
A soft voice beside her said “I warned you.”Urg, Lord Duroc
At first, her brow furrowed as if trying to focus on something she wasn’t sure of. But the more she watched, the deeper it got. Her lips parted slightly as her hand absently patted the woman’s arm. A weird calm came over her. She was oblivious to how the rest of the table was reacting. But for her, her breath hitched, her lips parted in an unspoken syllable, and a shiver ran down her spine to her very core.
She watched him a moment more to be sure it wasn’t a trick of the light. “What do you wish it to be, Lord of House Duroc?” She had no idea what game she had leapt into but she had to know.

HoMHis eyes snapped back to the normal, but a fire burned deep in them. “I wish it to be the start of a mutually beneficial task for both of us! Let us see what lies within these caves of yours, and then House Dutoc and Oed V will make use of the bounty. And if there is no material of use, perhaps another purpose would be possible for the area, rather than leaving it as a hole where cowards and thieves seek shelter.”
Urg, Lord Duroc
The snap back to the here and now of his eyes was more disconcerting than when he had slipped there to begin with. It left her gripping the table a moment as if fearing to fall over. She recovered quick enough and quickly downed the last of her wine, a cough catching her this time from her dry throat. She covered her mouth with the back of her hand and held the goblet towards B’ghal for a refill since the bottle was on his side now. “I would like that very much, Lord Urg. I will bring it up to the Governor the first chance I get. Hopefully we can start there within the week.”
She stole a quick glance at the woman at her side as if making sure she was ok as well. It didn’t occur to her that the mate to the Lord would have experienced that on more than one occasion. She quickly turned back to Urg with a smile once more.

HoMUrg laughed. “Yes! A week!” and laughed harder, as did no small few members of the contingent in the hall. After a moment, Urg grew quieter and said “Or… you make an appointment with your governor and by the time you are in front of him, maybe you have a full map of the complex and confirmation that the area’s marauders have… ‘moved along’?”
Urg, Lord Duroc
There wasn’t even a heartbeat to pause before Brianna looked up and shook her head. “And leave all the fun to you? I don’t think so, Urg,” not realizing she had dropped his formal title. “I found those caves. They are mine to bust thru with you.” She had a look of greed and fire in her eyes. Whether it was from the prospect of exploration or killing, one wouldn’t be able to tell. The desire and fire was the same for both.
