Side sim - My kingdom for a Shuttle! (Urg'tohn)

SNIP
Even with the flying, one of the guards was seemingly asleep. The other moved up during a lull in the acrobatics and wedged himself into the copilot’s chair. “Fire-Born because that is what my lord deemed you. Kavaar’ton the Builder sits at the right hand of Kahless the Unmerciful… Kahless the Unforgettable… and is the Rightful Founder of my lord’s House. And Lord Urg’tohn is not my boss… he is my Lord, the hand who rules our House, and who is Chosen of the Builder.” he said plainly, but with a respect that was not easy to miss.
Duroc Honor Guard
Bree listened and shook her head. “He is your Lord? He doesn’t act like any Lord I’ve ever met. Acted more like a bully, if you ask me. Kahless… him I know of. Interesting. Never heard of a builder in the mix.” She shrugged and seemed to think about it a bit.
He looked at her and said simply “The Builder. Kavaar’ton. Respect will given, Fire-Born.”
She went over two other mining sites then veered sharply before heading out towards a blank spot on the console that showed no one within miles. She found a landing spot in a small clearing on the edge of a rocky outcropping. “Perfect…” She said getting up from her seat. She headed outside, tricorder from the wall unit in her hand. She didn’t speak to invite them or order them to stay. She just dropped the ramp and headed outside.
Brianna
HoMThe first guard uncurled himself from the seat as the other not really sleeping guard stood and stretched. As the woman exited, the two guards flanked her, weapons drawn and eyes scanning. Their nostrils flared and one cracked his neck.

She moved and forth, sectioning off places in front of the shuttle heading for the cliff they had landed on. A few minutes into the walk, she turned to the one she had been talking to. “I apologize. Ignorance is no reason for rudeness. The Builder is someone personal to you both, and your Lord. I am sorry if I gave offense.” She she nodded to the weapons. “And you can put those away. There is no one around. And lords know I’m not shoot you.” She laughed and turned her face back towards the cliff and the view. “Doubt it would do more than piss you off, anyway,” she murmured under her breath, once more getting snippy, while taking in the view a moment longer.
Brianna
HoMThe second spoke this time and said “Just because your scans said no one is here doesn’t mean there is no one here.” The two were on point, and there would be no dissuading them.
Duroc Honor Guard
Bree shrugged. “Suit yourself.” She finished her scans and stood on the precipice watching the sun head for the horizon line. Another hour and it would be dark. But till then, the view was amazing.
Brianna
HoMThe first disruptor bolt hit just behind her and the first guard yelled “DOWN!!!” and shivered to the ground. The second whirled around fired three quick shots with the disruptor in his eight hand and waited. A figure rose from behind an outcropping of rock and the disruptor in his left hand fired once, hitting the figure dead center in the face.
A second volley of bolts flashed through the air and both guards knelt between the Mining officer and the incoming fire. Green flashes of light erupted from their weapons and the first guard yelled at Brianna “When I say now… run for the shuttle!” and he and his partner returned fire with a steeled determination.
“NOW!” came the order and the second guard took position in front and began blasting away as they raced back to the shuttle. The first fell in behind Brianna and fired past her and over her.
House Duroc Honor Guard
The first shot and the holler made her turn so fast, her foot slipped and her body went, belly down, on the ground. With being so close to the edge, her legs ended up over the edge. She growled and grabbed at the rocks, the tricorder a foot away where it had been dropped. She was scrambling to get purchase for her feet as her fingertips gripped the rocky outcropping.
When the guard said she had to run, she bit her lip and growled back a sharp retort. Instead, she managed to simply holler, “Little difficult.” Her mind raced trying to remember how close the ledge below her was, or if there was one, that she could drop down to. “Just kill them! I’m fine.” Last thing she wanted was to distract them.
Brianna
HoMAs the guard raced for the shuttle, a gauntleted hand grabbed her by the collar and threw her forward in the direction of the runner. A bolt hit the lead guard in the shoulder, but he bellowed something in Klingon and fired both pistols at the assailant, dropping them in pieces. The guard with Brianna yelled “GO GO GO GO!!!!” and pushed her to her feet and toward the shuttle.
Guards
She scraped her knees as he yanked her up, and she initially hollered out and swung. But as she was dumped on the ground and not tossed off the ledge, she scrambled on all fours a moment, grabbed up the tricorder and ran hell bent for the shuttle. As the other shots rang out, she used every muscle to keep her down and quick.
She made it to the ramp and almost slid trying to make the 90 degree turn to get inside.
Brianna
HoMAs the guard behind her ran up the ramp, a bolt hit him in the back of his upper leg, sending him sprawling and yelling in pain. Rolling over he fired and screamed out the door, and the other guard yelled at Brianna to get them moving. More shots hit inside the shuttle, but the two Klingons took cover and kept firing out the door.
House Duroc
The guard behind her suddenly was sprawled before her and rolling to fire back. She ducked and hands and feet scrambled up the ramp, bolting for the cockpit. She hollered back, “Going up! Hold on!” She growled and took them straight forward and over the cliff. She didn’t nose dive so much as drop them. She didn’t want the guards tumbling forwards into her, but wanted them out of firing range. As the ramp closed, she banked up hard and headed for space.
“Heading up…” She hollered back at them so they were prepared for the shift in tilt.
Brianna
HoMThe guards cursed and laughed and cursed and laughed, speaking… maybe arguing?… in their rough language. The first guard limped forward and sat flat on the deck behind her chair. “Are you hurt, Fire-Born?” he asked as he removed a small box from his belt and began ministering to his wound.
House Duroc
Once clear of the atmosphere, she pulled the shuttle up and stopped for a moment. She slid from her seat, not turning it in case the guard was leaning on it. Moving to her knees in a single fluid motion, it almost looked like she had been poured from her perch. “Lemme see…” she frowned. “I didn’t even ask your names.” She took the kit from him and tried to help him. Her head swiveled to the other one. “How bad are you hurt?” She asked.
The second one grinned as pink blood slowly flowed down his right arm. “It will take more than some outland scavengers to do more than this little scratch. And at least I didn’t get shot in the ass!” and he started laughing and pointing.
She was pumping from adrenaline and fear and despite it all, she was crystal clear and calm. For now…
Brianna
HoMTo his credit, the first guard didn’t rise to the goading. He simply applied the field dressing as best he could until Brianna offered to help. He handed her the kit and rolled higher on his side. There was a hole the size of a fist in his clothes, and only a slightly smaller one in his flesh. The dressing had stopped most if the bleeding, but it was obviously a painful wound… although 3 inches lower than his fellow guards assessment.
House Duroc
She frowned and shook her head. “Shoulda stayed in the shuttle. If I was slain, you could have gotten away and told your Lord I was an idiot and got myself killed.” She growled the response as she took both hands and pulled on the torn clothing to widen the opening. She wasn’t gentle about it, either. Once she had access, she cleaned and dressed the wound like it was a simple splinter. “Now, you stay put and rest. Don’t want you dying on me.”
“We do as the Lord bid us. He told us to protect you. Idiot or not.” and he chuckled.
She then rolled over from where she had been on her hip, to come to her knees and look at the other one. “Where were you hit?” She asked wondering how much blood on his clothes was his, and how much from the deck when his friend was shot.
Brianna
HoMThe second slightly his arm out of the shirt he wore u der the armor he had already removed. A hole showed clear through. It was testament not only to Klingin physiology, but also the guards determination, that he hadnt fallen. “But a scratch. I’ll have the house physician look at once we are back on the ship.”
House Duroc
She laughed. “Nothing like ‘idiot detail’ for a couple warriors, huh?” She crawled the couple feet towards him and then reached back for the kit and then settled beside him helping move the armor and shirt out of the way.
“And lucky for you,” she grinned almost viciously, though a smile tainted the edges of it, “my house.” She nodded around the shuttle. “I guess I’m your dock. Lemme see it.” She tool his arm and looked to be sure it was clean and only needed blood stopped and binding.
Brianna
HoMThe wound would need a doctor’s care, but he would last until then.
The first guard spoke up. “Our ship is in orbit. You could drop me there. He will stay with you until you are back in the Dock area.”
House Duroc
She wrapped it up to keep pressure on it to ease the bleeding. “Well if you are in orbit, then you can both get off there. You need immediate help and he’s no good to me on his belly. I can make it back to the station on my own. We didn’t get shot at up here.” She frowned and glared at him as she started to rise up. “Now sit still. Any strain will make it worse.” She left the kit beside him and headed back to her seat. She settled in and checked her sweep sensors for the ship they spoke of.
Brianna
HoMThere was a single Klingon vessel in orbit, and the transponder came in as the IKS Kavaar’ton. It was currently in a geosynchronous orbit above OED V colony.
House Duroc
Brianna headed for it, hailing with her shuttle name and the info of two wounded warriors on board needing immediate medical attention. As she waited for the answer, she glanced back at the men. “Well, boys… it’s been fun.” She laughed. “No, not really. But thank you. I didn’t say that. And I should have. Got get stitched up and have an ale for me.” She nodded to them and turned back to the ship as they came upon it.
Brianna
HoMAs she turned back, the ship came into view.
The IKS Kaavar’ton was massive, even by Klingon standards. Based on the Negh’Var frame, the Kavaar’ton hosted fore and aft auxiliary bays, over thirty decks, and more weapons than most carrier groups. As the shuttle approached, the fore bay blast doors slid open and the comms barked something in Klingon. The guard behind her chair said in a pained voice “They said you will dock and you will be taken before Lord Duroc.” and he bumped the back of her chair to get her attention.
“Remember Fire-Born… The Builder. And be yourself. Lord Urg has no patience for fake pretenses.”
House Duroc
“I’ll remember…” she slammed her back against the chair hoping to bump him back. “You remember a human female didn’t tend to your wounds.” She laughed and set the shuttle to docking maneuvers.
Once settled, she opened the aft ramp and stood up to see who their welcoming party would be. She placed herself, oddly enough, between the wounded and whoever was coming.

((So it was brought to my attention… and it seems we all missed it in playing (and reading) that OED surface requires EV suits. So in keeping with that… the above happened in suits and the injuries were sustained as doors closed on the shuttle (so no one died from huge holes in their suits) Our apologies for missing this. And from here out, characters will act as if suits had been on… Meli ((special thanks to V’Ger who pointed it out to me))
Brianna stood on the ramp, still suited up in the EV suit she had been in. Her helmet discarded on the cabin floor behind her. Both Klingons were still in their suits though one had half his leg material missing near his upper rear thigh, and the other had removed his top down so it was only on from the waist down as he was sitting on the deck.
Without realizing it, the redhead was trying to impose herself between those on the deck behind her, and those who might cause trouble for them.
