((Despite not being played out yet, we are assuming Bri is now the Head of Mining))

Hair rad swaying like wildfire around her head, and a voice raised with equal heat. Brianna was standing before the Officer of the Deck trying to make him understand the urgency. “Look, I’m not asking for something with warp capabilities and a galley. I want a shuttle I can use to scan over the local areas and the unmarked ones. It’s not a difficult thing!” Her voice, despite the normal machinery and noises of the hanger, could still be heard if one listened for it. While railing on the man, she had managed not to turn it into some weird feminine shriek that many women got when enraged.

“Look, Lady. I don’t have any to spare! I’m telling you.” He pointed to the ones she had referred to a moment ago. “And I told you, them’s ain’t mine to give ya leave to use.” Despite them having the Station logo on the side, he insisted the woman couldn’t use them. He’d tried rank and position, but it hadn’t worked. She had both. Then he’d tried mechanical failure, none were ready. She sighted the fact that the three ships beside them were listed as ‘available’ the evening before. And now, he was just trying to wait out her rage till she stormed off.

Trouble was, her feet were firmly planted. She wasn’t leaving anytime soon.

Head of Mining Operations

The meal with the Police Constable and the Karlson’s had gone swimmingly. Now was time for the House Duroc entourage to return to their ship and await the next step… or so they thought.

As the massive Klingon Lord Duroc led his contingent to their shuttle, he heard the voices raised and his head swiveled to take in the scene. A raised fist halted everyone in their tracks and Urg’tohn, Klingon warrior, Faithful of the Builder, Lord of House Duroc, and former psychiatric patient and ward of the Klingon medical complex… smiled. “Oh… I want to see this. The Builder sees fire in that one.” he said in a low growl.

Urg, Son of The Builder

The voices were going back and forth and people had started to gather. One mechanic looking man, a full six inches and fifty pounds better than the redhead, moved up behind the boss and took his side.

Her voice rose a notch as she stepped into the man. “And if you claim they are ‘down for maintenance’, then why were they listed available yesterday?”

The dark haired man laughed. “Cause they weren’t ‘down’ till this mornin’.” He took a half step forward, goading her.

As they were arguing, a set of folks, Andorian and Human, moved into one of the shuttles. She glanced over then back at the mechanic who shrugged. “Just fixed it. They were in line before ya.” He spit at her feet and turned to go, the Deck Officer laughed and stepped aside to the spit fly. As the man between them stepped to Bri’s left, she took a step forward. Both hands shoved at the dark haired man’s chest as he started to turn. Her curse word would be understood in any language as the vileness of the vixen showed thru brighter than her hair.

The Deck Officer watched as the mechanic staggered back a step out of shock, then faced her head on, called her a name no one should ever hear and swung his right hand towards her face. It was open, for a slap, but with his size and weight, it would do more than leave a sting.

The fist traveled quick… and then stopped dead. A gloved hand had grasped the man’s arm above the elbow. A very deep voice said loudly across the bay “In Klingon society, a female has the right to fight any male. And a male can fight her as if she was a male. We believe that sex is no deterrent to the spirit of a warrior.” and then he yanked the man around and picked him up off the floor, putting his face even with the massive Klingon’s. “The problem here is… *YOU ARE NO KLINGON!” and he smashed his head ridges into the man’s face, sending blood splatter across his own face and onto those next to him. He dropped the man to deck and whirled around , ready for the next opponent.

As their Lord engaged, his guards formed a ring around the crowd, disruptors and blades drawn.

Urg’tohn, Lord Duroc and Son of the Builder

She had turned her head slightly, bracing to take the smack on the side of her head, when suddenly it wasn’t there. As the blood sprayed from the busted nose splattered blood, even on the right side of her face and neck, she turned, without missing a beat, and glared at the Deck Officer. Stepping up to him, she glared. “I’ll let the Governor know what happened here. So don’t even try to put this on me. You did this to your man.” She pointed to the man on the floor, curled into a ball, cradling his nose at Urg’s feet.

She then looked up at the Klingon, her rage still plain on her face. “And just so you know, no, he isn’t Klingon. That means you had no right to interfere.” Bri had stepped up to Urg with fire in her eyes. Her hand rose to poke his chest, her size meaning it was higher than normal and made her seem even smaller than she was. “I was doing just fine. Now I’ll never get a shuttle thanks to you!” Her nostrils flared as her breathing, already shallow with her anger, stayed just above normal. The quick rises and falls of her chest letting him know that he was the one in her sights now.

Urg looked down at her, her finger in his chest, the fire in her eyes… and he threw his back and laughed! “YES! The Builder knows fire! And he has seen it in you, Fire-born! YES!!!” and he laid a truly massive and heavy hand on her shoulder. “You want a shuttle? You have one.” and he looked at his guards and snapped his fingers. Three peeled off and went into the shuttle where the Andorians and Humans went. A minute, and some very colorful language later, they were marched off the shuttle and Urg looked at her and then at the Deck Officer. “The shuttle is hers, yes. And note, human… that wasn’t a question.”

The large Klingon woman who was accompanying Urg walked up the Deck Officer and whispered something to him. The man’s face went pale and he simply said “Yeah… okay.” and she growled and bared her teeth. “Yes… my Lord.” and she turned and looked at Urg. Urg smiled at her, then looked down at Brianna. “Your shuttle awaits. Bring it back very damaged. Make them earn their pay for a change.” and he snapped again and two guards fell into either side of her. “They will make sure you board and depart… and return… safely. I wish you luck in your travels.” and he looked at the Deck Officer and glared, the walked away.

One of the two guards looked at the small human woman and said “We will make sure you are safe per our Lord’s order. You have nothing to fear.” and he grinned wickedly. “Although I believe fear is not an emotion familiar to you, Fire-Born.”

She frowned as he laughed and watched with her arms at her side as he made everything happen so fast. As the guard looked at her and told her she was safe now, she knew she’d have the Governor to answer to in time. But it somehow seemed worth it. She tilted her head up at the man and frowned slightly. “Why do you call me Fire-Born? Or is it a Klingon nickname for redheads?” She chuckled a moment and crossed her arms.

“Only the good ones, human.” he replied with a fang filled smile.

“And you said you were to see to my safety? Then I guess you’re coming along.” She didn’t wait for an answer to either question, merely dropped her arms and turned to stalk into the relinquished shuttle.

The first guard looked at the second and said “The Son of The Builder said fire, did he not?” and the second laughed and said “Builder be praised.” with a glance at the lower half of the retreating woman as they followed her onto the ship.

The Station Master cleared her flight plan, thankfully oblivious to what had transpired to obtain the shuttle. She was soon diving for the planet bordering on the edge of that fine line between acceptable and not acceptable flying. As she reached the atmosphere, she deftly pulled up to take the approach in a slower and cleaner entry. Soon they were flying just over the surface of one of the mining camps and she typed up the catacomb of tunnels as she flew over them. Small notes being made here and there as they went.

As she flew off that site and towards the next, she glanced back at her passengers. “So you didn’t answer me. Why Fire-Born? And who is the builder?” The title left as a question wondering if she had heard it right. “And who was that big guy that’s your boss?” She knew it was a lot. But it didn’t even scratch the surface of what happened and why.

Even with the flying, one of the guards was seemingly asleep. The other moved up during a lull in the acrobatics and wedged himself into the copilot’s chair. “Fire-Born because that is what my lord deemed you. Kavaar’ton the Builder sits at the right hand of Kahless the Unmerciful… Kahless the Unforgettable… and is the Rightful Founder of my lord’s House. And Lord Urg’tohn is not my boss… he is my Lord, the hand who rules our House, and who is Chosen of the Builder.” he said plainly, but with a respect that was not easy to miss.

Bree listened and shook her head. “He is your Lord? He doesn’t act like any Lord I’ve ever met. Acted more like a bully, if you ask me. Kahless… him I know of. Interesting. Never heard of a builder in the mix.” She shrugged and seemed to think about it a bit.

He looked at her and said simply “The Builder. Kavaar’ton. Respect will given, Fire-Born.”

She went over two other mining sites then veered sharply before heading out towards a blank spot on the console that showed no one within miles. She found a landing spot in a small clearing on the edge of a rocky outcropping. “Perfect…” She said getting up from her seat. She headed outside, tricorder from the wall unit in her hand. She didn’t speak to invite them or order them to stay. She just dropped the ramp and headed outside.

The first guard uncurled himself from the seat as the other not really sleeping guard stood and stretched. As the woman exited, the two guards flanked her, weapons drawn and eyes scanning. Their nostrils flared and one cracked his neck.

She moved and forth, sectioning off places in front of the shuttle heading for the cliff they had landed on. A few minutes into the walk, she turned to the one she had been talking to. “I apologize. Ignorance is no reason for rudeness. The Builder is someone personal to you both, and your Lord. I am sorry if I gave offense.” She she nodded to the weapons. “And you can put those away. There is no one around. And lords know I’m not shoot you.” She laughed and turned her face back towards the cliff and the view. “Doubt it would do more than piss you off, anyway,” she murmured under her breath, once more getting snippy, while taking in the view a moment longer.

The second spoke this time and said “Just because your scans said no one is here doesn’t mean there is no one here.” The two were on point, and there would be no dissuading them.
