Physically she was fairly healthy. She cleared maintained her old Starfleet physical training level and showed a high degree of muscle tone but also flexibility. Her vitals were mostly strong but showed sings of stress and fatigue, and this was also revealed in the muscle tension in her neck and shoulders. “Different…” she repeated, considering his observation.

Halai wasn’t one to lie, but nor did she reveal things without cause. Still, she could often wear her heart on her sleeve and preferred that to constant concealment. But the events at her villa had changed many things including that full openness. Right now she knew all too well that he’d be aware of thing she didn’t wish people to know, like how deep her struggles were right now. Could he see through her? Probably.

Exhaling, Halai fixed her gold-ringed eyes on him. “So much in life is an illusion. It’s up to you which version you think is true. But the truth is often a bit more complicated than anyone can truly grasp.”

Akem nodded thoughtfully. “That is quite true,” he stated as he finished his scans. “For instance…”

He turned to face her now, his eyes trained right on her own. “I thought perhaps you were feeling quite comfortable,” he then put his hand on her shoulder, gently but firmly (if that makes any sense at all). “But your body tells me otherwise. You’re quite fatigued. You’ll make it through the trip fine, but I would recommend you relax until we get to Tyrellia.”

“Oh a comedian!” she exclaimed with amusement. “Given the circumstances, relaxation hasn’t been much in my vocabulary.” Even so, his touch generated energy in her skin she could feel and it was both intriguing as well and triggering her other senses acutely.

He paused as he lifted his hand and considered his next words. “I don’t share this with too many people, but I do specialize in therapies that may assist. Nothing long term. I have special…skills…in relaxing and rejuvenating individuals. Its generally a business, but given I’m currently operating as a physician aboard a civilian ship at the moment, I could offer you my services for free.” He smiled politely, curious how she might react.

Her gold-ringed eyes were intense as she gazed at him. “Hmmm, that does sound potentially interesting and even wonderful. And far be it from me to ignore the advice of a health professional.” Halai leaned forward ever so slightly. “I might actually take you up on that offer.”
