It was a nice day on Oed V when Alexander and his family arrived. The three of them made their way through customs and went to the Oed Hilton while their accommodation was being sorted.

Alexander wasn’t due to start work for another week, but he believed in getting there early, getting a run down on the department and its personnel before they knew who he was, get a feel for the culture of the place, and see what education was needed to improve it where needed, and to get the son in school, of course, he deserved a stable school environment, other kids his age rather than distance education.

And his wife, she deserved a garden and flowers in their backyard, all that would be needed in whatever house they ended up living in.

“Alexander Michael Knowles, and family,” he told the reception point at the Oed Hilton, “yes, for a week … oh thank you for the upgrade, we appreciate it.”

“Come along,” he told his wife and son and the three of them headed upstairs, the 11 year old slowly following his parents.
