: : : : : : : : IC: Dawson looked over the gate while Tyra did her magic on the console. He wasn’t an engineer, for certain. But being the muscle of most encounters did have its advantages. The gate was rusted and likely hard to get through. As he slowly made his way across it, looking over its strengths and weaknesses, he noticed a few bars a bit loose. He glanced behind them, hoping nobody was near enough to hear.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : He quickly grabbed hold of one bar attempted to pull it out. Once he managed to do so, he tried 2 more next to it. “I have a way out!” he said gesturing to the small hole he created in the gate.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : He then made his way back down the corridor to Valkris to let her know about his new escape.

: : : : : : : Valkris nodded, acknowledging the fact. She just considered what to do when she heard screeching from the bars. Her hands pressed down over her ears, attempting to pry them loose. Thankfully the noise was limited to the local area instead of echoing down the tunnel. Valkris didn’t question the logic of it all as she noticed him make his way back.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “Coming,” Valkris said as she followed him, “Tyra is this exit on the map? Do you know where it leads? As much as I want to see if we can make it back to the hatch, sometimes tells me we will risk capture. Are you sure there’s no other way out or back?”
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : Tyra nodded “It’s an old maintenance shaft. It will probabaly lead us to the surface, but I can’t be sure.” She said as she moved over to where Valkris and Dawson were.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : : The removed bars made a gap big enough for all of them, though it might be a tight squeeze through. Faded lights were located farther down the path indicating a possible exit to the surface. When Tyra examined the fragmented map, she would note it was an old maintenance shaft that was blocked off. There was no evidence the smugglers even knew about it or considered it something to worry about. The bars, with a little cooperation and attention to detail, could be placed back. Like a hidden entrance into the smuggler’s lair.

: : : : : : She helped move the bars so that they could get through and suggested “We should put them back as we leave, just in case.”

: : : : : Dawson ushered the two women through. “I’ll bend them back while you guys go ahead. I’ll catch up once I’m finished.” he replied to them both, ready to ensure that nobody would follow them. Dawson was strong, so bending them back likely wouldn’t take much effort on his part.
: : : : :
: : : : : “Let’s just hope this map is our saving grace,” he stated as they left.

: : : : : -Dawson
: : : :
: : : : Tyra shrugged “I don’t know that it is going to be our saving grace, but it might get us close to an exit that we can use.” She said still wondering exactly how they were going to explain this and stop it. “They have to have some one on the platform that is helping them as well.” She said as they moved forward “That would be the only way to get them off the OED.” She said.

: OOC: Putting this on hold until the Exodus move, purely as I’ve kept forgetting and I’m having issues keeping up with while saving the Characters sheets, IC/OC threads, and ensuring everything is able to be transferred over without any issue. I will resume this afterwards, so please be patient with me and stay tune!

OOC: Sounds good Janice! I’ve copied this over just in case anything happens. :)
-TonyDawson nodded in agreement to Tyra’s statement. There certainly could be more investigating needed once they were out. Mentally he was preparing for it, even though he was technically a civilian. Then again, he was used to being involved in such things. His experience with security matters was top of the line.
Dawson followed as they tried to find their exit.

Tyra looked around her to get her bearings “Okay. ....” She looked back at Dawson and then took out a PaDD from her pocket “Let’s see where we are and how we can get out of here.” She said

Dawson paused with them, keeping his eyes and ears aware of everything that surrounded them.

OOC:
Now that this scene is drawing to an end, a few last replies from everyone and I’ll move to the next scene with a brand new thread at Valkris’ home. Where everyone can go over the data, come up with a plan and we can officially bust these poachers. ^-^
OOC: Woohoo! Sounds fun! :)
@Tyra: Map indicates there’s two ways out, the maintenance entrance for work staff (which hasn’t been used in a few years) or a door leading to the sewage management plant a few hours up.
@Dawson: You hear nothing. Everything appears safe aside from a few sewer vermin ambling along the tunnel floor and hissing at you. One appears dangerously close and not to notice their presence yet.
If it continues, it risks being in bitting range to first Tyra then Valkris.
IC: Valkris continued to the others lead as her eyes panned the tunnel’s scenery, trying to peer through the subtle light and into the darkness beyond it. These tunnels appeared to not been refurbished or touched since their creation. In the background, the sounds of their pursuers faded until only silence remained. She hadn’t noticed the small rat-like creature with dark, blood red quills lining its spine like an earth porcupine. The muzzle had a stripe or seam along the upper part indicating it might split apart. The fur under the quills held a hint of green to its natural brown, likely covered in fungi or slime.

Tyra moved up “There are two ways out of here.” She said “The main enterance tunnel which is right here.” She said “Or the sewer about an hour’s walk away from here.” She said “I suggest we get moving. I personally don’t want to deal with what might actually be living down here.” She said as she headed off toward the main entrance.

Dawson noticed one of the vermin scurrying nearby and get a bit too close to them. He held his gaze on it as he agreed with the chief engineer. “I agree. Let’s get moving quickly.”
He kept his eyes on it, close enough to grab in case the disgusting little beast decided to attack. He would grab it and break its neck.
-Dawson
Tyra led the way out of the access tubes. She wanted out of her. Her hand was throbbing and she needed to get it cleaned up.
