The stars still seemed so far away Linarra thought as she started out of the observation window of the transport shuttle bringing her from betazed to her new home on OED V and, a new title she hoped actually meant something. Head of medical and social services. It had been a month since she left star fleet and for the most part she hadn’t regretted it . At least not yet. She took a deep breath and ran hand along the small bone ridges on her forehead and down to her nose. People usually starred but they weren’t so prominent and most people forgot they were even there after a while. At least that what they told her out of kindness she guessed. She wasn’t vain so the ridges didn’t bother her normally but they did complicate first impressions and not usually for the better. Linarra let her sunkissed auburn hair flow around her shoulders in waves. There were no starfleet regulations to adhere to anymore.
“We’re arriving soon,” Linarra whispered as she could sense a vast number of minds in the distance. The young blond pilot Named Dorian dressed as if he expected pirates with a weapon belt and tough leather jacket looked at her with a puzzled expression.
“How did you know that,” he asked and Linarra rolled her gold speckled dark eyes.
“Telepath, but also I can read the console,” she informed him just shy of calling him an idiot and then fell silent again. She needed to get along with these people and find her place here. When they landed at the docking bay she took a deep breath and walked out the doors paying the pilot. Her belongings had already be sent ahead to her new address but she wasn’t headed their first. The Governor would need to speak to her first she was made aware by a message. Linarra lifted her chin as she placed her mental shields as strong as they would go and then made her way through to find transportation to the Governor’s office.Linarra Riccio-Head of Medical and Social Services
There were minds galore in the docking facility, tranient fleeting minds going about their daily lives. Several ships semmed to be more less semi-permenant residence. Including a dilapidated, beat up old transport of Orion manufacture. That it had seen better days was a statement decades out of date. Its name was scrawled on the side in Thingon’hol, Builder’s Glory. Within the recesses of its darkened hold their was a not so tranient mind, a presence of sorts. It seemed here yet not.
