The Pale Horse was a sizable bar in the style of a Britisih pub, wooden framing with aged brickwork. Tinted windows with elaborate decorations in Nordic Earth style. The sign was wooden decorated with a masterfully handcarved white horse carrying a cloaked rider. Inside there were several booths around the outer walls and a raised platform on the innermost side creating a more private seating area. Several tables were scattered across the main floor. There was an archway going to a backroom were games could be heard, the place was moderately busy. In the center was an Ellipse shaped bar with a tall wall in the middle with multiple bottles of alchohol on shelves attatched to a big mirror on both sides.

Near the entrance a Catian in a red sirt and dark vest sat at a single table with a dark frothy beer next to him, he was reading a PaDD. When the group entered the bar he stood up and smiled at them “Welcome to the Pale Horse, how many?” He asked, on his chest was a nametag marked ‘Mrerr’ but oddly enough he spoke in a liverpool accent.

Mrerr

Valkris could feel her father’s confused look, followed by her mother’s smile. Places like this were interesting to her mother and herself. For her father, he tended to focus on the food. He preferred more Klingon cuisine than Earth so she hoped they had something today that would fit. Most restaurants usually served various cultures to please a wide range of customers.

“Three please,” Valkris stated as she heard Mrerr speak, unfazed by his accent. She suspected most employees had trained to sound similar, primarily to add to the appeal.

“This way please,” The Catian said with a toothy grin. He grabbed three leather-bound menu books and led the group passed the bar and to a booth on the other side of the bar. From there they could see out the main tinted window on their right and to the left was a small empty stage previously hidden by the bar. The alien placed the analog menus on the table. “Would you care for some drinks whilst you look at the menu?” He asked.

Mrerr

Valkris followed the Catian’s lead, her parents close behind her. Their expressions flowed from interest to uncertainty. As they approached their table, they promptly took their seats. Mother had sat closest to her and her father across from her.

As Valkris took the first menu, she paused to answer the woman.

“Yes, thank you. I think some water will be nice for all of us.”

She looked at her father who frowned but bit his tongue. Valkris knew it wasn’t solely because of her. Her mother was sitting beside her and stared into her father’s direction, daring him to speak. Instead, he exhaled. He slouched in his seat some while accepting the choice for him.

“Hopefully we’ll have our order by the time you come back.”

Mrerr smiled a toothy grin “Quite so” He gave the group a friendy half-bow before moving towards the bar. Although the menu was seemingly analog, bound in leather, inside there were two interactive screens, the one on the left was mostly drinks and the one on the right mostly food. Each tab opened a variety of choices depending on its planet of origin but also a search bar and an obvious voice command option. The interface was sleek and easy to maneuver giving information on each dish chosen.

Although the restaurant was obviously Terran focused the information read that they had expert chefs from all over the Federation and beyond that could create anything so long as the natural ingredients were available, no replicated foodstuffs were served whilst the kitchens were opened. There was also a list of available ingredients, a rather impressive array of choices from all corners of the Federation and also select delecasies from the Klingon, Cardassian and Romulan Empire.

On the Drinks side it was simply said that if the drink existed they could make it with the same array of choices regarding alchoholic and non-alchoholic beverages.

Mrerr

Valkris opened her leather menu and scrolled through the list. Her finger landed on the Chicken Kiev, tapping twice to show the ingredients. A chicken fillet wrapped about a herbal butter and coated in bread crumbles. She found the dish appealing with a side of gagh and glass of Kanar.

Her hands closed the menu before she glanced at her parents. Naturally, her father finished up when he finally found the Klingon section. It took both her mother and herself to convince him to try ale instead of bloodwine.

When Mrerr returned, Valkris had placed all three menus at the edge closest to him.

Father started off immediately.

“Trag steak and octopus, with a side of gagh. Ale for the drink.”

Mother politely chimed in with her choice next.

“I’ll have the roasted lamb, side of zilm’kach and grey earl tea, please.”

Valkris decided to finish their orders up with hers.

“I’ll have the Chicken Kiev, also a side of gagh and Kanar.”
