The beginning of the day was always the best part of it. Morra could hear the happy squeals of Tama as she was chased around the living space or the eating chamber by Asu, and the crash that signified that Milo had once more knocked his bowl of oatmeal off his chair. Oatmeal was quite the fascinating invention. Oats soaked in hot milk. Not a sufficient meal for an adult, but good for a growing child.Deep amber eyes blinked slowly as the one they belonged to stared quietly out the window and watched the slowly brightening sky. Morra stood from her desk, closing her notebook and sliding it into a drawer. Scaled feet padded across the floor, her long tail trailing behind and nearly touching the ground.
She slipped on her trousers, soft black fabric falling over the curves of her legs and accentuating a form alien to humans but natural to her. Soft over-shoes were attached to her feet - soles were not needed for her tough, scaled feet, but humans seemed to dislike bare feet, so she compromised. Morra licked her eyes briefly. It was a dry morning. She would have to talk to Asu about turning up the humidity in their house.
She slipped on a grey tunic, then added a vibrant orange cloak with golden trimming. It complimented her red scales wonderfully. Fully dressed, she headed down to the eating chamber to get some food.
“Good morning, Asu,” she murmured as she stepped in. The pale orange eyes of the Nanny glanced up as a smile lit upon Asu’s face. She had gotten Tama under control, it seemed and the child was happily munching on her morning meal. Asu stepped over to Morra, and the two pressed their foreheads together, smiling contentedly.
“Good morning, Morra,” Asu said with a smile, stepping away and picking up a cooked gourd from the middle of the table and splitting it with her sharp claws. The inside of the gourd tore like meat, and smelled somewhat similar. The two ate in silence, interrupted only by the babble of Milo and the occasional comment or complaint from young Tama.
All too soon, the meal was completed. “I will see you all after work,” Morra said with a soft smile. She turned to the two children. “Be good for your Nanny,” she spoke, eliciting a nod from Tama and a burp from Milo. She and Asu touched their fingers together briefly, then Morra left for the Industrial District.
Morra, Head of Science and Terraforming (HoST)
As Morra was about to leave her residence, a messenger boy would come to her with what seemed to be a message.
“Hello madam Head. I have a message for you from an incoming cabinet officer!”
The messenger boy would then hand Morra a message written on what seems to be a strange tablet that she’d never seen. It read “From the Head of Mining Operations” and would indicate where to open the message to read it.
SoR, HoMO
Amber eyes met those of the young messenger, and a scaled head tilted. Morra took the tablet and pressed the spot to open the message with a clawed finger. She shooed the boy away and began to walk to her transportation device. A small two-wheeled vehicle which ran on electricity, it was sufficient for her purposes. The dome never got cold enough to need an enclosed vehicle. After a few moments, Morra set the autopilot on her vehicle and began to read as she rode forward.

Upon opening the message, this is what would be revealed:
“Hello madam Head of S&T. I am Shinzak of Remus, the newly-appointed CEO of OED V Minerals Corp. I head the mining operations of the planet. I intend to host a reception at my residence to meet my fellow cabinet officers and potentially discuss OED geography. Please write me back with your RSVP and I will send you the future details.”
The message would be stamped with OED V’s sigil and the official signature of a cabinet officer, proving it was genuine and worth Morra’s time.

Morra lifted her brow in fascination, then pulled out a wrist-mounted device called the ‘Universal Remote Interface,’ URI for short. A device that, among other functions, was able to send secure messages back and forth with Federation technology. She quietly sent her response.
“Hello, Shinzak of Remus. As far as my knowledge goes, RSVPs are sent after the date and time of the gathering is communicated. As much as I would love to meet you and come to your reception, I regret I am unable to respond with confirmation of ability to attend until I know the date and time. I am a busy person, and may not be available at the time you have planned but not communicated.”
It wasn’t long before Morra arrived at the headquarters of the White Village. She headed immediately for her office, with a small detour to the hall of technology. “Place this in a secure signal-blocking box. I do not want any remote hacking.”
With that, she left the unfamiliar device to the care of her employees. A skilled bunch of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, she had hired each and every one of them during her time as head of recruitment and was confident in their skills.
