“Dradvia, would you like to help vash to her room and get her lamp set up and apply the cream?” he said, he had seen her doctor instinks kick in before maybe with her beein slightly more comfortable with vash she could manage. Eli as still very sleepy and wanted to remain in bed.Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Yes, I will.” She stood up, “May I program the salve into your replicator?”
Vash smiled and grinned at Papa. “Of course you can. I can make it to my room. I’m going to change, okay?” Dradvia shook her head. “Let me help, your knee is really messed up. I can program it while you change.” Vash didn’t really need to help to walk, but it was the first time Dradvia had actually touched her. It was sort of like a hug. It also gave Vash a very interesting glimpse of the emotional truth of Dradvia. One that wasn’t shadowed by fear and trauma and drug withdrawl.
Dradvia tiptoed back into Eli’s room and programmed the replicator. When the salve materialized she scanned it with her tricorder to make sure she’d programmed it correctly. Then she tip toed back out and into Vash’s room.

Eli was already asleep when she came back to make the salve, he was breathing lightly and looked vary peaceful. His massive chest rose slowly as the breath escaped his lips.

Govenor OED VDradvia was with Vash for about an hour. They talked a little. Dradvia was still too shy, and Vash was afraid of scaring her away. When Dradvia left, Vash called out. “Dradvia, it’s okay to go back in there to sleep. He won’t mind if you wake him either.”
Dradvia hesitated. Vash smiled, “You can stay here if you like, or I can make you a bed in the living room. But I know Papa would feel better if you were safe in there with him.” Dradvia nodded and stepped out of the room. She stood outside Eli’s door for quite a while not sure what to do. Eventually, she was too tired to stand in the hall longer and she tried to slip quietly back into the room. But then she couldn’t sleep. As soon as she was curled on the couch with her head on her pillow, she was wide awake. She read for awhile longer before sleep suddenly took her.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli did not stir when she came in, it had been a long day, and anything short of a small invasion was not likely to wake him. He began to toss and turn though, dreams causing him issues. He wimmpered a few times then began to cry.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicThe sound woke Dradvia instantly. It confused her, she sat up looking around. She moved without thinking about it. She moved to the bed. She recognized what was happening, and knew that people coming out of nightmares could lash out. She had a feeling Elias would never speak to her again if he did. Dradvia wouldn’t blame him. You couldn’t control what the memories did to you in your sleep.
She sat down on the floor like she had before. Dradvia thought that would be safest incase he struck out. She set a hand firmly on his arm. “Elias. Elias it’s okay.”
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
His eyes opened slowly, he looked down at Dradvia, the tears still pooring out of his eyes. He had been dreaming about his first wife again, he felt guilty for some reason and shame. He looked away from here. “Im sorry if I woke you” he said his thumb rubing over the top of her hand.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicSeeing that he was awake and aware, Dradvia stood up and sat down next to him. She rubbed his arm gently. “It’s okay. I don’t really sleep anyway.” She chewed her lip a little. She wasn’t sure what to do for him. “Do you want to talk about it? Or ummm… would you just like a hug?” Her voice dropped on the last. It was probably presumptuous. Dradvia knew though that when she had one all she really wanted was a hug, but there wasn’t anyone to give her one.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli heard the word hug and did not hesitate, he pulled her up into his arms pulling her face first into his chest, hoping she would wrap her arms around him. It was something they had done a lot on the trip back, but for much different reason. Yet it had brought Eli a peace only Vash had been able to chemically give him , it was different though he did not want to let her go, he wanted her by his side always, and it was killing him that she had to go back.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicDradvia’s arms went around him, and she squeezed him tightly. She hummed softly in his ear and swayed a little like she was trying rock him. She shifted so they were both more comfortable and she wasn’t at risk of falling off the edge. Dradvia breathed in deeply, her arms tightening just a little more. “I’ve really missed your hugs.”
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli’s ache was eased the moment they made contact. He was hopeless all he could hope now was that she would feel the same. “I have missed them so much,” he said his eyes closing again. “And it is much better now” he said slowly drifting off toward sleep.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicDradvia sat with him while he fell asleep. It felt good to hug him. Soothing to know it soothed him. She didn’t sleep for a long while. She watched him, making sure the dreams didn’t return. Eventually, though, sleep claimed her as well.

Eli woke early his eyes opened softly. He looked around to find Dradvia, he was not sure what they were going to do today, maybe take her for a drive out in the country side.
Thalen Kirell
Owner: Soma Nightclub.Dradvia had stayed with him the rest of the night. Sge was asleep curled into his side one arm trapped under his back and the other wrapped around his abdomen. She’d hugged him all night.
The rest of the flat was silent, Vash was still asleep.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Took him a moment to realize she was hugging him. He really did not want to wake her, but he also did not want to lose what little time they had together. “Time to wake up Dove” he said softly giving her a little shake.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicDradvia’s eyes fluttered once and then opened fully. Her brows drew down as her gaze searched his face. Her arm squeezed him in a warmer hug. “Is something wrong? Are you okay?”
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli smiled into the top of her head, “Everything it perfect” he said, “It’s just time to get up so we can spend sometime, I was thinking about maybe heading out of the city,”
Dradvia smiled quietly at his answer, hoping he really felt it was perfect. The smile turned to a grin of excitement. Elias had mentioned camping last night. She’d forgotten after everything else.
“for a drive, take in the country side?” He asked her
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Not camping?” The disappointed question slipped out before she could stop herself. She sat up quickly looking at her lap. “I mean, I didn’t realize you changed your mind. A drive is fine, perfect. Whatever you want to do. I’m fine… I’m happy with whatever.”

Elias smiled. “Camping it is, ” he said with a smile. “Vash” he called through the appartment.

Govenor OED VIt was dark in the room, but the flush on Dradvia’s cheeks was obvious anyway. She didn’t say anything because she wasn’t sure what to say. Her eyes lit up with excitement though.
There was a soft quick padding of feet. Vash appeared in the doorway, weapon in hand. Her eyes scanned the room, still filled with sleep. She blinked once at Papa and Dradvia sitting so close together. She hid the weapon quickly. “So… nothing is wrong. Why are you waking me at this unholy hour?” she pouted.
Vashkilu, New Arrival
Eli forgot that she had been working nights now, he gave her an appologetic look. “Sorry daughter, but dradvia and I are going to go camping for a few days, and thought you may want to join us. I will secure some cotts and popup habs for the trip”, oed was still to cold at night for tents.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
Medic“Camping?” That was certainly something she had never done. Her immediate response was yes, but looking at Papa and Dradvia she wondered if they wouldn’t like some privacy. Vash wouldn’t mind. But it was the anxious uncertainty and semi hopeful attention on her from Dradvia that convinced her.
“I would love to go. If you two don’t mind dragging me along. I won’t be much help. I have no idea how to ‘rough it’.”
Vashkilu, New Arrival
Elias looked at dradvia a moment. “We would love to have you, I think it would be fun to spend time together, with no other outside preasures” he suggested.
Vaelir th’Renn
Govenor OED VElias had already asked Dradvia if it was okay if Vashkilu came with them. She’d said yes, and would have even if she wasn’t okay with it. Looking at the girl now, Dradvia knew it wasn’t because she felt forced by Elias to do so, but because one couldn’t really think about Elias and not think of Vashkilu. They were family, they were a package. They were a family. For someone like Dradvia, nothing was more desired than a family. It was sacred, and she would never do anything to damage it.
On top of that, well it would be wierd to not have Vashkilu around. Dradvia was wary… okay she was still scared… of Vashkilu, but she wanted not to be. Dradvia glanced at Elias’ daughter briefly. It was still hard to look directly at people, but she did very briefly and smiled a little.
Vash didn’t need the words, the look and smile spoke volumes and it was probably one of the most priceless gifts she’d ever been given. “Well then, I guess we are going camping. Thalen will have to deal with it.” She laughed and turned out of the room. “I’m guessing an evening gown would be a bad idea to pack?” she called back.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
It warmed Eli’s heart to see Dradvia making such an effort to welcome vash into her heart. It meant a lot to him, it meant that she wanted to make things work enough to push past her fears, even if she did not understand why. He could see Vash warm as Dradvia made the quick gesture. “It would not suprise me to find you in an evening gown in the middle of a desert if you thought it would attract attention” he quibed.
Dradvia heard Vashkilu laugh. It really was a nice sound. Musical and happy and carefree. More than anything it was confident. Dradvia wished she had just a little bit of that.
Eli shift up in bed one hand still in contact with Dradvia, a habit from when she was withdrawing form the OX-9, or maybe he just liked to be in contact with her. He streched and moved to the kitechen to make breakfast.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicThe moment Eli’s hand slipped off her she felt cold and lonely. She wasn’t coming apart, but she still missed it immediately. He moved into the kitchen, and Dradvia sat on the bed acutely and starkly facing the previous night. The previous night had been… a roller coaster for Dradvia. Ending with her comforting Elias and falling asleep next to him. The most shocking and huge thing was that she hadn’t woken up scared or panicked. She’d felt safe and rested and calm.
It was all too much to process, the miasma of feelings made her feel like she was drowning. Pulling up her knees, she hugged them, set her forehead on her knees, and let herself cry. She wasn’t sad or scared, but it was just the way everything was coming out. The tears only came faster because she knew she wouldn’t get in trouble for it.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli started making pancakes, eggs some sort of bacon like meat and a bowl of fresh local grown fruit. He loved this breakfast, it was the one thing he really enjoyed while he was working with starfleet, well enough infact that he did not despise it.
Dradvia heard him moving around after a few minutes. She got up and rushed into the bathroom to shower and dress. She didn’t want Elias or his daughter to know she’d been crying. She’d have to try and explain and she wasn’t really sure she understood it. By the time Elias had food ready she was just packing her pajamas and brush back into her bag.
Soon everything was all ready, “Breakfast” he said sitting putting juice and a type of milk on the table then he took his seat.
Elias “Eli” Trenor
MedicDradvia walked out of the bed room and moved toward the table. She was wearing a peach colored knit sweater and denim pants. “It smells good,” she said shyly. She moved toward the seat she’d occupied the night before and paused. That might be his daughter’s seat or his. She wasn’t sure, but it seemed okay to go ahead and stand there and wait for Vashkilu to come out.
Vash was slightly later. She walked out and yawned hugely. “A mini vacation and I didn’t have to cook!” She kissed Papa on the cheek, “Thank you.” She slid into the third empty seat, making sure Papa had to sit next to Dradvia.

“Excellent” he said setting a plate down where Dradvia should be setting but he did not say anything. he recieved the kiss from Vash as he always did with great joy in his heart.
Dradvia watched them, the silent moment, that was done with such ease she knew they did this often. She saw the joy on Elias’ face and the adoration on Vashkilu’s. Dradvia watched feeling like an interloper into their family time. It was a feeling she was familiar with. How many times had she, all of them really, watched other families together, wishing and wondering what it would be like to have one?
They told themselves that they didn’t need parents or siblings or grandparents or aunts and uncles or cousins or family pets. They had each other and that was all they needed. They would get to choose. But the pain never went away. They just learned to ignore it better.
“Dradvia have a seat Dove,” he said setting another plate infront of vash.
He moved to the kitchen to collect his own plate.

Govenor OED VDradvia startled when Elias said her name. Not fear, just drawn out of her memories. She was grateful because she knew she’d soon have started thinking about Kryssa. She slipped into the chair, but waited for Elias before she started eating. She seemed to nibble at the food, but it steadily disappeared off her plate.
Vash tried not to be obvious as she watched Dradvia. Physically she looked better. Emotionally, Dradvia felt clearer, not covered by the shroud of drugs. Vash didn’t know her well enough to know if she was better emotionally though. She also knew that Dradvia would never initiate conversation with her on her own. So it was up to her. “I wanted to thank you, Dradvia. That salve worked wonders last night. Where did you learn that?”
Dradvia paused as she scooped a bite of food, and she sort of glanced up. “Umm, I… uh, took a class at the Academy. It was all about how to find natural remedies for ailments and sickness. A previous cadet had researched it as her thesis. Often people get stranded without help, and she did all this research and turned it into a program for tricorders. You can scan the patient and then search the environment and it will find plants and minerals that are needed. Then it tells you how to make the medicine.” Dradvia shrugged, “Master never gave us good medicine. His… his doctor was allowed to experiment on us. I… I thought if I took the class I could help more of the others.”
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli sat down next to Dradvia, his eyes locking with hers for a moment.
Dradvia couldn’t look away, even with the faint feeling urging her to do so. Dradvia felt like a rogue planet that had funally been caught in a star’s gravitational pull. She was drawn enevitably to Elias. Her cheeks flushed pink as he held her gaze.
He smiled and then poored himself a drink. “That is very noble of you Dradvai” he said, putting some butter and surp on his pancakes.
It was survival not nobility. She shrugged self consciously and drew into herself at the praise. Not a lot, but enough that they noticed. They had both been with her too long not to notice.
Eli’s hand found her forarm, he gave it a little squeeze, and an appology for sorts, and reasurance that he understood her retraction.
“Vash, could you get the food we will need for two days?, ” he asked, “Dradvia and I will get the portable habs and supplies.”
“No problem. Is there anything in particular either of you would like me to get?” Vash looked at Papa, “Anything I should not get because it is too hard to make while camping?” Vash had no idea and thought it better to ask.
Eli shook his head. “You’ll have a larg cooler, a pan, a pot, a skillette and a hot fire. Other than that i’ll trust you to do the cooking” he said with a smirk.. “I guess”
He tured to look at Dradiva. “I would love to trade remidies, I’ve had to make do with a lot of odd supplies in my day” he noted, he was not sure she even knew he was a medic.
Vaelir th’Renn
Govenor OED VHer face lit up a little. She knew Elias was at least a nurse, possibly a doctor. She’d never asked, but she could tell from watching him while he took care of her that, he had medical training. Also from the extensive notes he had on Vashkiku’s health. “I’d like that.” It was one area that she felt she could participate evenly. That she could contribute something meaningful to, and she was excited to share it with him.
When they were done eating, Dradvia began to clean up. The uneasy feeling of his compliment still sat with her. In her head she knew it was okay, people, normal people, complimented each other. It was a good thing. Reya and Mrs. McKenzie had encouraged Dradvia to do what helped her process. Not to simply accept it and move on. To allow her body to do healthy things so she could process her feelings and memories and fears.
Part of it was that Dradvia felt she had to earn the praise, but the other part was the anxiety that compliments caused her made her antsy and figity. So she preferred to do something. Let the physical signs have an outlet and help her calm down. She knew she didn’t have to clean up, but it helped. She just knew Elias or his daughter would say something, maybe insist she didn’t need to. She didn’t know what she would say to that.
Actually, she did. She wouldn’t say anything. She was too uncertain and shy and too confused by her feelings to explain them. So she would just agree and do whatever they suggested she do.
Ens. Dradvia, Doctor - Medical Leave
Eli did not say anything, he did not have to, he simply took her hand kissed the top it and let he go do what she needed to do.
