Emeryson had finally got Eireann dressed and ready. She adjusted the pink bow in her daughter’s long brown hair. Emeryson had managed to get herself ready to go to work after she got Eireann registered for school and in class. Eireann was five, but very bright and was still learning how to use her empath skills. Emeryson had taught her how to essentially lock down that part of her brain so that she wasn’t reading other peoples thoughts without permission.

About 10 minutes later, the duo walked into Rabbitus School. Emersyn led Eireann into the main office. and looked for the secretary, who came out after hearing the bell on the door. “Hi, how can I help you.” She asked politely. Emersyn smiled “I need to enroll my daughter in school. She will be in the kindergarten class I believe.” The secretary smiled “Let me get Ms. Enger out here to help you. If you could fill out the information on this padd it will help the process. Emeryson took the PaDD and began filling out the data while they waited for Ms. Enger.

JAG

Karina comes out of the back office. “Hello. I am director Enger. How can I help you?”

Enger, DOE

Emeryson stepped forward “Lt Commander Emersyn Gray. This is my daughter Eireann and we need to get her registered for school today.” Emersyn said with a smile. “She’s in Kindergarten.” Emeryson said handing over the PaDD with all of the data that they had requested “I do have a couple of questions, are there any after school activities for the kids to be involved in, not necessarily at school, we just got to OED and we’re still figuring things out.” Emersyn said knowing that Eireann really wanted to get back into gymnastics and dance.

JAG

The Cairn woman smiled and offered her hand. “Welcome to Oed V, Cmdr Gray.” She smiled down at Eireann, “It is nice to meet you too, Eireann.” Karina looked over the information. “There are many extra activities. I can get you a list. We have several schools in different locations. What are you looking for in a school?”

Enger, DOE

Emerysn smile “Something that will challenge her and help her understand what her abilities can do. We are working on these things at home..but socially, has been a bit more complicated.” Em added “We work on things when we go out, but she has never really been exposed to school.” Emersyn add.

JAG

Karina waved them into an office. There were toys and games on a self at easy reach. “Tell me about her skills and abilities.”

Enger, DOE

Emersyn led Eireann into the room and let her explore the toys “So she is part Betazoid and it has been trying for her to not listen in on other peoples thoughts and feelings. I have taught her how to shield and well, she is strong willed and feels that she is entitled to know everything about everyone. She did have some issues at the day school she was at before we came here. But I want her to have a fresh start. New teachers and new classmates. ” Eireann went directly for the baby doll “I have a baby brother at home, his name is Issac.” She said sharing immediately with the director of the school.

Karina smiled. “Do you help take care of Issac?” she asked the child.
Eireann smiled brightly “I do.” she said looking very proud “I help him walk and play with toys.” She said “I also have a doggie named Bubbles and we play together too.”

She looked at Emersyn, “Telepathic and empathic gifts are not something we have teachers for here on Oed. You can ask Eireann’s teacher for a list of families with similar talents. Being around others may be helpful.”

Enger, DOE

Emerysn smiled “I will do that. I hope that being in a more structured setting, she will start learning more self control and social skills. She loves learning. She has enjoyed watching historical shows. She knows a fair amount about Betazed history and culture.” Emerysn added “We work on adding and counting, her ABC’s and other basic foundations.” She added “Please let either me or her father know if there are any issues. She can be a bit bossy with others, especially ones that she feels are weaker than she is.”

JAG

The director made notes as Gray spoke. “Alright we have several openings in a couple of the early education centers. If she likes history I think she would like Ms. Elode. She does a lot with history.”

Enger, DOE

“That sounds wonderful. When would she be able to start?” Emersyn asked.

JAG

Karina made a few notes and then with a final tap turned off her console. “I have sent her enrollment to the school. As soon as she has had her physical and been cleared she can start.”
