Nia nodded. “So in terms of our biggest project, we’ve done multiple tests in the lab on the Vren gift and are ready to proceed very soon with a larger test, but we of course need the leadership’s permission to proceed first. As I understand it, the cabinet will need to approve us going forward and then if good to go, we’ve selected a site to the north of the colony that makes the most sense to introduce the substance. It’s near a former lake, so once we generate the necessary ecosystem of microorganisms, the water that eventually is produced could give us our first new body of water.”

“So we’re waiting for the cabinet’s decision on our collaboration of the Vren gift. Is there anything that I can possibly help you with while we’re waiting for the final decision?”

Nia bobbed her head. “Possibly. How are you with plant evolution and ecosystems?” She had a few things to sort out before they reached the next phase and she wanted to go to the rest of the team with solid options to pick from.

Tannenn smiled, “Those are my favorite parts of herbology. What can I help with?” It had been a while since she got to use her skills to their potential and the sound of Nia’s project was very promising indeed.

“So we’ve tried the biological agent on different samples, but now we need to settle on exactly which of Oed’s original plants we want to introduce in small areas at the test site. It might be good if you joined me when I go see Dr. McKenzie next. The Conservation Director had ideas and so do I. Really, we caould do just about anything we want since we’re creating a viable biome from scratch, but the goal is to restore as much of the original vegetation as possible. We have only a certain amount of original seed samples, but it’s more than enough to generate biological diversity.” So much of this had been rolling through Nia’s mind, In fact she barely stopped thinking about it all. This project was not just history in the making, but a huge responsibility.”
