We’re getting very close to the end of this mystery. Here’s the info we know so far plus some places of action to help move things along:

1.Trying to flee the colony, their murder suspect, a Flaxian by the name of Tokerl, was arrested trying to sneak through the Starfeet side of the Orbital Platform. They made a deal with him: he tells them everything and they give him a new identity, some 5 bars of latinum and a ship to take him where he wants to go. He agrees.

• He was hired to locate and secure plans for a particular gov’t program the Executive was working on called PAD (Project Anvil Dragon)
• his employer said Jones was a potential source of info and an associate of his employer was keeping an eye on him for particular reasons –>had info on him for leverage and thought his relationship with Dasca could give Jones access to the info on the project
• was supposed to scare him and if he proved a threat to his employers, eliminate the threat. His contact gave him a device that allowed him to enter and leave Jones’ apartment without a trace.
• claimed Jones struck first and things got out of control. He injectged him as he was told to do but don’t know what was in it.

• Security took device off his person. Was given to him by Roland Cavanagh, who works for a local tech company (Devray Technologies). Roland’s boss has some sort of deal with the Orion Syndicate cell on Oed. A mid level associate in the cell (Sitin) hired Tokerl but he interacted with Cavanagh as needed.

• device taken off Tokerl was made by Devray technologies, just like the bug at Dasca’s apartment.

• Sitin made a encrypted call to Ajilon Prime several months ago, and a few days before being seen with Cavanagh

• “The background search on Devray showed the CEO and owner was Thurston Kennick. From all accounts, Kennick looked like an upstanding citizen. He was a prominent business man with a background in computer science and had been living on Oed for 8 years. Devray Technologies was started 6 years ago and had moved solely from R&D and branched into production 3 years ago.”

• “It was also noted that Kennick had also been on the short list of nominees for Lt. Governor of Oed, along with Captain Dasca and Vice Admiral T’Naris. Kennick was the only short-listed candidate with no ties at all to Starfleet and that had been one of the primary criticisms against his appointment, given the Lt. Gov was also in charge of the Starfleet forces on the colony. His nominator had been Federation Councillor Gregson Clarke, who was the representative on the Federation Council for Alpha Centauri. Though Ripkiz hadn’t outlined further details on either men, she did link some reference points and noted that they seems to have known each other for years.”

2.From this point, Mace and Pangolin go to see Dasca:

• Eela tells them about the awkward encounter she had with Kennick at the Gala. Considers him an insufferable ass.
• general conclusion is that a potential political rival was seeking was to discredit Dasca and Hyrushi and/or get in on the project as the technology contractor (which would be quite lucrative).
  -Devray’s CEO, Thurston Kennick seems on the surface to be an upstanding citizen.
  -Pangolin says he needs to red in the Comissioner, but can give Dasca a few hours to break the news about PAD themselves (to the cabinet). Dasca says they were planning to tell the cabinet in a meeting and would probably call another emergency meeting to do so.

• Sitin: OCU to send whatever info they have
• Mace had CIA pull any files they had on Kennick –>tasks Reilly with this
