Emersyn sat on the sofa with a cup of coffee as she looked over legal briefs and other documents. In the background, she heard the rest of the family starting to stir in their various rooms, her daughter was the first one out and curled up next to Emersyn and laid her head on her lap “Mommy do I have to go to school today. I want to stay with Daddy and Bubby”. She whined.

Emersyn leaned down “Now we talked about this my love, you have to go to school to continue learning and getting smarter.” She said “Bubby and Daddy will pick you up after school and I think that Daddy might be taking you to an ice cream shop in the commercial district.” She added “Now, I need you to go get dressed and come eat breakfast.” She said gently pushing her daughter off the sofa to get ready.

Her young daughter sighed “Fine, but I won’t like it.” She said her lower lip sticking out. Emerysn sighed “Then no ice cream, I’ll tell Daddy to just bring you home and you can do the chores you’ve been avoiding....like cleaning your room.” She said firmly, which got a long sigh “Fine…I’ll go to school and get smarter. Can I wear my pink dress and bow.” She asked hopefully, Emerysn nodded “Yes love, you may. Now go get ready.” She said as she walked into the kitchen to make breakfast for the family before she headed to her office to start working on the charges that she wanted to bring against others that were involved in the current situation.

A few minutes later, Em’s husband made his appearance carrying the baby in his arms, who immediately reached for his mother. Emeryson took the little boy and kissed his bedhead before putting him in the high chair at the table, called her daughter to come to the table and the family sat down before Emeryson put the bow in her daughter’s long blonde hair and hustled her out the door to drop her off at school. Emeryson then headed to her office for her first full day of work. Her mind still mulling over options.
