Tannenn read over another Padd and sipped her french vanilla cappuccino. She made some notes and then set down her Padd and sent a request to speak with Nia Harmon at their earliest convenience. She wanted to be sure she was up to date with everything from the science department before she moved on to other research studies.

The blond scientist sent a message saying she could be at her office in thirty minutes.

Nia had been at the Science and Terraforming Complex after checking on the big archaeology project in the field. Despite it not being her specialty, she’d been helping out there out of fascination and an interest in learning more about this branch of science. It had taken her a little bit of time to set aside her notes and make her way over to Keen’s office in the Starfleet Complex, but she arrived a few minutes earlier than she had said and rang the chime.

Lt. Nia Harmon, Scientist

“Come in.” Tannenn said softly as she looked towards the doorway. She smiled seeing Nia and motioned to the chair near her desk. “Good morning Lt Harmon, would you like anything from the replicator or anything?” she said as she waited for Nia to get settled and comfortable.

“Actually, a glass of cold water would be fantastic,” Nia said as she slipped into the chair. “I’ve been running about a bit so far today.” She had been so focused on getting her notes down that she had forgotten to drink anything in awhile.

“Do you want anything to eat as well since it sounds like you didn’t get to take a break yet this morning?” Tannenn asked as she stepped to the replicator to get the glass of cold water got Nia.

She waved her hand. “Nah, I’ll have a proper lunch in a bit, promise,” Nia said, breaking into a slight grin. Scientists were notoriously hyper-focused and the stereotype was that they were always forgetting to eat. In her case, well, it was true about half the time, but she was a lot better about it at this point in her career than at the beginning.

“If you change your mind while we’re talking go ahead and help yourself.” Tannenn said as she brought over Nia’s water and a cup of french vanilla tea, for herself. She hadn’t decided if she liked it yet or not.
