Soma Night Club: Grand Opening.

Thalen had been working on this place for so long and the first night had finally come. Hopefully advertising had done its job, he walked by the red carp roped entrance past Venn a rather large Orion dressed in a black suit and tie that likely cost more than Thalen would pay him in a month. “Looking sharp Venn,” he said as he entered the building and went to the elevador.

The Elevator chimbed as he reached the 7th floor, he stepped out into the corridor where the payment window and hostess waited T’Vess was a half vulcan half human that had the poise to make the place classy but enough emotion to not scare the clients away. “Vess” he nodded she too was looked stunning in her cocktail dress. “Sir” was all she said as she looked through the VIP guest list for the night.

Thalen wanted to walk through the entire venu before the opening to ensure everything was in place. The club greeted him with two dark, matte-finish double doors, stylized with etched spirals that caught the light only when seen from an angle. Low, ambient house music pulsed from above creating a warm welcome, the DJ had not fired up yet soon the pulse of the room would be intoxicating. The two story space opened, leaving one breathless as they took in the scene, lights and color everywhere. The Bar was to the left it was a twist of cold stone that seemed to cure along the edge of the dance floor, Behind the black and red cabinets pained with glass the displayed all the bottles. Various tapps lined the bar as did golden barstool’s with black and red cushions. Two females and a man worked the bar and smiled as he went by.

All around the dance floor were standing tables small but enough for a group to stand around and talk and hold drinks. He moved quickly across the dance floor various light patterns followed him as he went leaving a trail of light pulsing to the current music. The lounge on the other side of the floor was fixed with a dozen curved sofa’s that each had low tables for drinks and food. The atmosphere was calming and the low light provided for some intimacy in a crowded space.

He moved up the stairs past the mid level DJ booth were the current DJ was finishing the current set up. She was a young human she was on vacation from earth and well know there. He had been lucky that she had been vacationing there. She was dressed in a silver Bikini and covered in tattoos she had a masquerade mask on that looked like a panthers face. “Good luck Cat, if there is anything you need let me know, every thing is on the house.” he said leaning in kissing her on the cheek. She almost passed out and gave a knowing smile. “I’ll see you later” she said slyly.

He moved to the VIP section on the upper platform it looked perfect 4 individual area’s with plush seating tables and personal shielding to have private conversations. The areas was filled with expensive artwork and sculptures from around the quad. Making his way back down stairs he confirmed with his engineer that the four mood rooms were function each room could be set to produce any feeling one wanted to feel, he walked into each one checking them out and then moved to the back elevator not wanting to climb the stairs again.

The rooftop was his crown. To the right, the fire pit flickered in geometric clusters, already fed and ready. Low-profile couches formed half-moons around them. Charcoal gray with bronze inlays. He reached down and adjusted a misplaced pillow, then stood again, satisfied. The infinity pool shimmered under low violet light surrounded by incense that produced feelings of calm and desire. There were two changing rooms with replicators in them to either side of the pool.

To the far left, the grill was warming. Edda was already prepping. She didn’t look up, but he smelled the char-starters igniting, lemongrass and pepper oil filled the air. The outdoor bar stood opposite, built from dark wood,He had it infused with subtle pheromone oils. The longer people leaned there, the more open they became. Nothing criminal.

He looked around and smiled, he had already given the staff their pep talk, so he made his way to his office to wait for the place to fill up.

By ten pm the place was bumping, a line 60 people deep curled around the corner of the building, people dancing and laughing and enjoying the new place. It was not as expensive a place as it looked at least the main floor, pass for the VIP and Roof section were very expensive.

Thalen had slowly made his way around and noticed her standing by the waters edge, he moved next to her quietly but like she was any other guest. “It’s a nice view,” he noted . “How are you enjoying your self this evening. I’m Thalen, the ow.. ” he trailed off. “Oh we spoke in line earlier, nice to see you again.” warm comfort and enjoyment permeated from him

‘Uvie’ smirked. “It’s the wig- it throws people off. Then again, that was the point,” she said with a wink before casting her gaze over the view. “It is a good view. I love seeing the colony at night. It comes alive in an entirely different way. No more vibrant than in the day, just… different.”

“The lights give the city a pulse likes its alive” he said.

“It’s more than the lights,” Uvie said, a serene smile playing across her face as she opened her mind a little more to let Oed in a little, just as she did every morning when she did her Ku Ralai ritual. “You can feel it, can’t you?” She breathed deeply and shook her head slightly. “Millions of people, all with their own worries, loves, joys. It’s vital, and, as you said, alive. It’s no singular thing,” she said, once again looking over the city. If you were higher up, like her and the Governor’s offices, you could see the rest of the landscape that was Oed and she knew that out there was more than barren rock. It was full of hope.

Thalen smiled, “Alas I can not feel much past the roof I’m afraid and unless you will do me the honor” he said holding out his hand.

Her touch telepathy was the one area of her person that she was uniquely and solely equipped to assess for risk. No one else, not even her very excellent security detail, could do so for her. She had to trust her instincts. In this moment, under these circumstances, there was no harm. Breathing in deeply to centre herself, she reached out a hand and set it on Thalen’s.

Instantly he’d be able to feel what she felt. She touched the whole that was the people of Oed- their co-mingled disparate energies finding a strange harmony that was unlike anywhere else she’d been. It was a quiet thrum and it was not hard to imagine that Eela was aware of this energy at all times when she was awake, at least on some primal level. But beyond that, and her currently content mood, she was shielded. He could not pick up anything further.

‘Uvie’ dropped her hand, her serene smile now even deeper for the moment of connection. “Well?”

Thalen’s heart was pounding, it had been so long since he shared feelings like that with anyone, mostly his interactions had been one way from him to get what he wanted or needed. He had not been home in a very long time and he had no real connections with other deltans on oed, she had the emotional fortidute to withstand his emotions, unless they got intimate, there were only two know races other than a deltan who could fully resist, but should could survive it without long term effects most likely. His mind drifted back to the moment. “I would very much like to continue” he said. “I have not connected to someone on that level in many years” he said. “Another time perhaps?” he asked.

Uvie’s hazel eyes carried an intense look as she studied him, though they softened after a moment. “Perhaps,” she said with a small nod. It wasn’t a promise, just a ‘maybe’ should the right circumstances come together.

She gazed back at Thalen. “I’m having a lovely evening. I wish I could have stayed downstairs for the show, but it was getting a bit too… rowdy and proved unsafe. But that’s okay, it’s nice up here as well.” Eela knew she wouldn’t be able to capture that sheer momentum of freedom again, but that was okay. Special moments like that were only special if they stood in isolation.

“Panther does have them jumping pretty hard down there I’m afraid they will fall through the floor” he said with a laugh. “We have a VIP spot open and blocked incase you change your mind, and the mood rooms are amazing, all on the house for you tonight.” he noted. “Would you like to meet the DJ tonight on break or maybe after she’s completed her set?”

She considered this for a moment. “I think after a bit of a break up here I would like to go back downstairs, actually. Normally I would have said no to the VIP space, but it might be prudent tonight. And of course, I’m happy to meet people. Though I suppose it depends on who the DJ thinks she’s meeting, now doesn’t it?” she said with a light laugh.

~Eela & Co.

He smiled his normal smile. “I think Ms Uvie is important enough to warrant VIP treatment don’t you?” he asked holding up his arm, “May I escort you back to your friends” he said. He hoped things were going well for her, she was a very special woman, she intrigued him.

She grinned. “Oh, Uvie is important enough for many things,” she said with a wicked gleam in her eyes. She took his arm and let him guide her back to Cort adn Gan, who watched them approach with some amusement.

“I see drinks are here. And s the party continues!” Uvie declared with a laugh.

“As if you had any doubts,” Cort teased.

Uvie turned back to Thalen. “Thank you. And I’ll let the staff know on our way back down if we’ll be taking up the offer of the VIP area. I’ll just see how I feel in a bit.”

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.
Thalen smiled and gave a slight nod, “The staff will await your arrival” he noted. “If you will excuse me I have other guest to attend to, “Uvie, and extreme pleasure” he then drifted off to the next table and began socializing and talking with them.

She grinned and watched him walk away. Uvie swept over and settled into the booth, crossing her legs at the knee. Cort slid her drink over and gave her a smirk. She took a generous sip and eyed him over the lip of her glass. “What’s so funny?”

“You,” Cort said, leaning back with his drink and glancing sideways at Gan. “Don’t you think?”

Gan snorted. “I have no official opinions on anything,” she said said simply, though her eyes glinted and Eela could feel the amusement from the Lead Agent.

‘Uvie’ sighed. “A girl can’t have any fun these days.”

“Oh, you can have all the fun you want,” Gan said. “I think he’s just implying that he’s allowed to tease you about it in the process.”

She shook her head. “Wait till you’ve lived a couple more decades and then let’s have this conversation again.”

The food arrived, and they ordered another drink. She was well and truly buzzing at this point, but was hardly drunk. This was in evidence after about twenty minutes, Uvie and Gan made their way to the washroom and Uvie never faltered once.

She waited till others left and, standing in front of the mirror in a pose that showed ample bare leg, Uvie took an image and sent it to Karilan with a message: |This place is great and I’ve been dancing and having a lovely time. But I wish you were here. It would be even better with you. I want to come see you after. Tell me no and I’ll simply go back to my place.|

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

There was a long pause before a reply was received. It was a picture… Karilan ‘s bedroom, the bed freshly made and the covers folded down. They were not visible, but a line of text accompanied the picture: You know I’m not much for crowds… but I am much for you. See you soon.

Karilan Massat, Owner - Quill and Parchment Bookstore

Giddiness washed over her and she sent a tiny response back: a heart.

Moving back over to the table with Gan, Uvie eyed her friend and assistant as she slid into the booth. “You look tired,” she said, eyeing Cort.

“I’m fine,” he said with a small smile.

He didn’t just look tired, he felt tired too. Yes, he absolutely needed to get out a little, but he also needed rest. Usually it was him being the mother hen. Tonight was her turn. She reached out and rested a hand on his arm, her hazel eyes intense. “I call bullshit,” she said, arching her brows, which had a very different effect with her blunt cut bangs covering the shapes on her forehead. “Go home, my friend. Rest. We have an actual day off tomorrow, remember? And so help me if I find out you’ve been sending and replying to correspondence, I’l come over and give you a piece of my mind.”

The threat was uttered so seriously that he knew without a doubt she was teasing. Cort laughed openly, drawing attention.

Uvie just smirked. “Exactly.”

He held up his hands. “Fine, fine, I surrender.” Cort’s gaze softened into fondness. “Have a great night. It’s good to see you enjoying yourself. It suits you.”

“Damn right it does,” she said, her eyes glittering.

With a chuckle, Cort slipped out of the booth. “Night,” he said to Uvie. “Good luck with that one,” he said to Gan. The Bolian didn’t even skip a beat when she deadpanned. “I’ll need it.” That just made Uvie cackle.

Eventually, and after speaking with one of the staff, Uvie made her way to the VIP area downstairs to meet the DJ while she was on her break.

The lift doors swished open, stepping on the VIP balcony as a scene of high class, everything was very expensive the couches the tables the tapestries that surrounded them. There were only five large booth area, three of them were full of people who looked like they had power and wealth. there was a small platformed dance floor over looking the main dance floor where people were dancing but it was far more reserved. The music however was not, as the doors opened her ears were hit with the rythmic sound of Knight Panthers music. God Mode: Live Wire

A older Bajoran man stands just to the side of the host stand which is currently unmanned. “Name” he said his voice firm and rather sharp. Former Military most like.

Detective Chief Inspector MCD, Jewel Stone

If she were to hazard a guess, the bouncer was actually somewhere around her age, maybe a bit younger. Eela wasn’t short, but he was tall, making her crane her neck up a little at him. Her eyes held deep amusement and she planted a hand on one hip. “Well Darlin’, I’m Uvie. I’m sad they didn’t prepare you for me. Shame,” she said with a wink. She gestured with her head to Gan. “She’s with me.”

Behind her, though the Bolian’s face simply wore an expectant look, Eela could feel Gan’s amusement. No doubt she was giving the agent plenty of stories to tell the team tomorrow at debrief.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

The bounce just stared for a second and then she noticed it a metallic glint in his eye some sort of contacts. “Mrs Uvie, Yenari will be write with you to get you situated in your lounge space, I’m Mr. Mraek but you” he deep voice boomed, “You angel, Can call Me Kel, or at 3am when I get off” he smiled and returned her winked.

Her head tipped back as she all but cackled with delight. Her hazel eyes glittered. “Well, Kell,” she purred. “As it happens I already have plans for later.” She took a couple steps forward and looked back over her shoulder at him, giving him a lopsided smirk. “But good thing I know where to find you should that change.”

Mel smiled back at her as she moved past. “Good thing” he responded.

Uvie could feel the electric energy running through her. This. She had been missing this feeling of her own personal power. Every time she thought she had bene getting close, Oed came and smacked her down. She hadn’t been lying at the memorial when she said it was humbling. She also hadn’t been lying to herself after that first date with Dash when she realized she wasn’t interested in hiding herself in anyway to make herself palatable to people.

Reality was different though. She was still a person in a role that was sometimes scripted. Yes, Eela Dasca was rewriting that script rather dramatically, but she wasn’t doing so carelessly. Everything was measured, considered.

Tonight, none of that mattered. She absolutely could have shown up as Eela and accepted all that that would entail, but the truth was she had missed this side of herself. She had missed Uvie. Every flirtation tonight was genuine, even if there were no promises or expectations. She was just sussing things out. Besides, she had a date tonight with a beautiful Deltan who had seen her at triumphant highs and perilous lows. All the flirting from here on out was simply fuelling the fire for later.

And, most importantly, it was fun.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.
Yenari a beautiful Batazoid woman approached. “Mrs Uvie if you and your party will follow me” she said turning and walked them to their booth.. “It is your for the night complements of mr Thalen”, she smiled warmly .”Would you like everything else on your tab?” she asked.

Thalen Kirell
Owner: Soma Nightclub.

“Yes, please,” Uvie said with a beatific smile as she sauntered over and slid into one side of the booth. “And please pass on my thank to Mr. Thalen.”

Yenari tucked her head slightly and “I will” she noted.
M’Lene cautiously stepped through the door to the nightclub and hovered in the entrance. She was keen to meet new people although she didn’t really know where to start. She had loved what she had seen of Oed V so far but the bustle and busyness was a little overwhelming for her. She knew it would take some time to acclimatise and get used to a new pace of life but she was looking forward to the challenge. She wandered over to a nearby seat and perched on the edge awkwardly, hoping someone might notice her.

-M’Lene
Director of Terraforming

Tamsen bounced to the the beat as she moved about the floor a small fruity drink that made you giggle when you took a sip, something someone that knew here would not even notice as she was always smiling, laughing and giggling and talking. Oh the talking. She was in a tight form fitting short skirt cocktail dress with a single strap and exposed back. Her long red hair covering most of it, she was beyond fit, her lean muscles glistened with sweat and spark dust.

She almost did not recognize her, the woman that was the new director of the terraforming on OED, she would be working with her team a lot. She approached the table bubbly and smiling from ear to ear. “Hi,” she chirped in a high pitch. “You’re M’Lene right?” she said her hips bouncing left to right in rhythm of the music.

Tamsen Stone, Terraforming Environmental Scientist

M’Lene jumped at the sound but soon broke into a warm smile. “Indeed I am,” she replied, smoothing the fur on her neck instinctively. “Very pleased to meet you, Ms Stone?” she enquired, hoping she had remembered the young woman’s name correctly from the personnel files she had reviewed on her shuttle ride over. With a flick of her mane, she waved a nearby waitress over.

“Would you care for another drink?” She asked her new companion as she perused the menu.

-M’Lene
Director of Terraforming

Tamsen tossed the rest of her drink down and giggled. “I would love a drink!!” She said leaning on the table her hips still bouncing side to side. “Yeah, Stone, but don’t call me that here, my friends call me Tamsy, so call me that, I mean we don’t really know each other, but I feel like we aren’t at work and you cant be calling me MRS STONE” she said folding her arms and shaking her head with authority and then a pout. “I mean we are both here to have some fun let loose get to know people, maybe catch a few glances and man, that DJ she is smoking right? ” she continued as the waitress walks up. “Summer Breeze for me!” she squeaked she said and stopped waiting for M’lene to make her order.

Above in the VIP area, Gan settled into the other side of the booth, on more high alert than one would think given that there were fewer people here. But downstairs her charge could move about freely with little risk of recognition. Up here, there was a higher chance. That wasn’t a problem, but it did change the dynamics a little those around her knew who she was. She had promised ‘Uvie’ a night to have some fun without pressure and expectations and she was determined to deliver that night.

“Can I get a Risian mai tai, please,” Uvie asked Yenari. Gan waved the hostess off, not needing anything else just now.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

A Mai Tai materialized on her serving tray, she took the the drink and a coaster and sat it down on the table in front of her. “Your Mai Tai” Yenari stated.

Tamsen Stone, Terraforming Environmental Scientist

“Thank you,” Uvie said. She took a healthy swallow of the brightly coloured drink and let it wash over her. She spent a few minutes there, downing half her drink before getting up and taking it over to the pseudo dance area. She let her mind be more open to the crowd below and felt the music in her body, swaying to the beat.

A minute later, a thirty-something year old man approached with a grin. Dark hair and pale green eyes, he wore confidence like a fine suit and seemed to know what he was about as he approached. “You’re having a good time,” he said over the din, flashing her a grin.

Uvie mirrored his grin. “I am. It’s hard not to at a place like this.”

“I’m Len.”

“Uvie.”

His grin grew. “Uvie, what an enchanting name.”

She gave a half shrug that was matched with a half-smirk. Taking a sip of her drink, she glanced behind him at Gan and the Bolian let her know she was watching carefully. “What do you do, Len?”

“I’m an architect. Just won an award recently and really excited to see what I can do around here, you know?”

Oh I know, Eela thought. This was a VIP longe, after all. Movers and shakers. But she wasn’t here to see what she could get from people and vice-versa. “Sure.”

“What do you do, lovely Uvie?” he said, drawing closer, making the conversation more private.

She had already prepared an easy answer, because it was technically true. “Project Management,” she said. She could smell the alcohol on him and it was clear he’d had quite a bit. Nothing wrong with that though.

His grin deepened and he dropped his voice. “Nice. I bet you could manage some projects for me.”

Oh wow, really? That’s your best line? she thought. She truly didn’t believe in leagues or some such nonsense, but it was clear he was no where near the kind of astute and clever kind of person she enjoyed. “Or not,” she deadpanned.

He laughed, far too loudly. “You’re funny!” She arched her brows. He leaned in more, his fingers sliding along the fabric of her thigh.

Beneath her wig’s bangs, her brows arched. “I don’t remember saying you could touch me. You can stop now,” she said firmly.

He chuckled. “Aww, come on now, we’re just having a little fun, yeah?” His fingers remained on her thigh.

The older Bajoran bouncer that had been flirting with her when she came to the lounge , had his eyes on her and the man with her. He looked to her her friends and watch closely. He took a step forward toward, he could see the man was pushing Uvie. He paused and grinned when she got ahold of him and the little snot winced in pain. He recomposed him self at his post.

One small fast move and he let out a startled cry, only to find her hand holding his wrist in a vice grip. Drunk and clearly not a man who enjoyed exercise, he crumpled into the pain.

In Gan’s ear, the team was doing their thing and she had shifted her position to be able to dart from the edge of the booth in a second. But she saw the steely look in Eela’s eyes and the hand on the idiot’s wrist and inwardly chuckled knowing she had things well under control for the moment.

Eela leaned in and dropped all pretences of Uvie. “I am very sure I was very clear with you about my boundaries. Now, I get you are drunk, but that is no excuse for the utter disrespect you are showing a perfect stranger. I highly suggest you and your friends go home now, Len the Architect, before you make an even bigger fool of yourself and my friend is forced to come over here. Trust me, you do not want her to do that.”

A flash of recognition passed through his eyes and Eela knew she had been found out. Oh well. She released his wrist and he stumbled back, wide eyed. She waited till he moved back to his booth and his friends before she knocked back the rest of her mai tai, sauntered back to her booth and took a seat.

“You okay?” Gan said, leaning forward and speaking quietly.

Eela snorted and shook off the whole affair with a roll of her shoulders and flashed a dangerous grin. “I’ll be fine. Besides, he recognized me. Think what a hit to precious ego that’s going to be.” She was aware of the others in the VIP area whispering and wearing shocked looks, but she wasn’t sure which part shocked them more His behaviour or her response. She inwardly snorted. She had been in Starfleet for forty years and regardless of her back, she could still defend herself, even if it was against drunk jerks.

Gan looked less convinced knowing these things could backfire, but she was essentially right. A lesson was hopefully learned.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Yenari swung by the table as she finished her drink, “Another round?” she probed.

Thalen Kirell
Owner: Soma Nightclub.

The mai tai was still warm in her system, and she was hardly at the point where she needed to cut herself off, but there was a moment of hesitation before she nodded to Yenari. “Yes, actually. Thank you, Yenari.” She’d wait until well after Asshat and his friends left the VIP area (they looked to be packing up), and then she’d head downstairs to dance some more. There was no way she was ending the evening here on a sour note, especially given her date afterwards. That was not the vibe she was bringing with her to Karilan’s.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

Thalian and Night Panther made their way up the stairs to the VIP area where he started taking her around to the tables and the dance floor to meet her fans. Her mask as off, she moved with the swager of a young woman who was having the time of her life. Thalian gave a casual look over at Dasca but waited a minute or two to see if she changed positions are waited at her table.
