After Tiberius finished up sending out the note about what was going on with the Jones investigation, he decided it would be good to make a trip to the CCDA and check in and offer help. He hit his comm badge and said, =/\=Commander Cattaneo to Ensign Schwartz, Please meet me at the CCDA main office. If you get there before me, please wait outside and we will enter together. I want to show a token of good faith by providing our help to the CCDA if needed in regards to the message I sent out just a few minutes ago.” He then stood up and left his office. It took him about 15 minutes to travel to the CCDA headquarters. As he was approaching, he saw that Ensign Schwartz was already there. He was happy the ensign had not entered without out. When he arrive, he said to the Ensign, “Thank you for meeting me here.” Ensign Schwartz then responded, “I am here to help and have been working with you on this case so I knew it was important since it was related to that.” Tiberius then entered CCDA headquarters and the young ensign followed him.

The CCDA was headquartered on the giant orbital platform that was in stationary orbit above Oed V in a secure and highly restricted area. As the pair of ‘Fleeters’ had approached, two CCDA Agents had opened the sliding door to the area, and one tapped their comms on their helmet and said something unintelligible into his helmet-mic.

At the entrance of the CCDA, he knew there was a person station outside the main part of the office, a sentry on duty as you could say, and Tiberius knew he needed to introduce himself and indicate what his purpose was for being here. Tiberius then said, “I am Lt Cmdr Cattaneo of Star-Fleet Security. I would like to speak with General Harris or Major General Tenkiller. I do not currently have an appointment but its in regards to the Jones case.” He then waited for a response to see how to proceed.

Chief of Star Fleet Security

“Of course, Commander. Both General Harris and Major General Tenkiller are in meetings at this time, but if you care to wait, I’m sure one will be free soon.” The speaker was a Caitan seated at the reception desk. But unlike most receptionists, this one was dressed in the same fashion as the rest of the CCDA Agents in the facility: blue light combat armor, sidearm, and a tactical visor in place of the standard helmet.

Tiberius nodded at the receptionist and while waiting to hear from one of the General’s, he went and sat down at one of the seats in the entrance of the CCDA. He had been up and about most of the day so getting to sit down again would be nice. He then just waited to get waved over by the receptionist.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tiberius was curious on why this was taking so long. He knew the CCDA was busy with the Jones case but since Tiberius was directly involved, he was surprised he was not seen quicker. He started working on the initial report on everything going on with the case adding to what he had. He knew after this was over, he would have to create a full report and since he had some time to wait, he thought he would get started on it instead of just sitting here. He continued working on the report based on what he had and waited for one of the General’s to call him back.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

A few minutes later the far back doors slid open and a dark skinned human male with long black hair in a braid down his back walked through. He was in the standard blue working uniform of the CCDA, not armor, and had a gold insignia on his collar. He walked towards Cattaneo and smiled. “Commander Cattaneo? Major General Charles Tenkiller. How are ya?” and he held out his hand to the Star Fleet officer.

Tenkiller, VC-CCDA

Tiberius went ahead and shook the guys hand. He had not meet the Major General as of yet so this was nice. He then responded, “I am doing alright. Just wanted to check and and get some feedback on some things with the investigation with the Jones case. I know we have a suspect and I wanted to discuss how Star-fleet could help out while we were moving forward with the case. Is it alright if we go into your office or the General’s office to discuss?” He then waited for a response from Charles.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tenkiller nodded and said “Sure. Follow me.” He looked at the Ensign and said “Ensign, why don’t you go to the agent at reception. I’ve made arraignments for a tour of the facilities here for ya.” He then jerked his head towards the door he had entered from. “Follow me, Commander.” and he turned and walked towards the door without looking to see if the Star Fleet Officer followed.

Passing inside they entered a spartan passage of bare metal and diamond-patterned deck plating. The far end of the passage was far off and the passage seemed to curve slightly to the right. Tenkiller led Cattaneo down the passage, past not one but three checkpoints, and finally to a T-intersection at the far end of the passage. Turning right, they came to a doorway flanked by two CCDA Agents who snapped to attention at Tenkiller’s approach. He nodded to each and walked through the door as it slid open.

The office beyond was large and the far wall was a window that looked out over the platform and the myriad ships coming and going from the station. A large desk with two chairs sat off to left, and to the right was a conference area. Behind the desk was a set of floating shelves on which sat various odds and ends of the office’s occupant’s life, including a glass display in which sat a single medal: The Star Fleet Decoration for Gallantry.

Tenkiller tooka seat behind the desk and gestured to a chair. “Cop a squat there, Commander. You want somethin’ ta drink or anything?” he asked with a friendly smile.

Tenkiller, VC-CCDA

Tiberius went ahead and took at seat. He then responded, “I will take a water with ice. Thank you.” He then waited for VC to sit down.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tiberius was unsure if the VC was going to sit down or not so he went ahead and took a seat. He did not want to come across rude or anything but really wanted to show Star-Fleet Security was here to help however was needed in catching the criminal who had murdered Mr Jones. Tiberius was trying to think of ways to more easily identify the perpetrator in order to make it more straight forward to apprehend the suspect. He wanted the suspect brought to trail as soon as possible. He did not want anyone else getting hurt or potentially killed, depending on what the motive was for the murder. Tiberius then took another drink of his water. He noticed it was refreshing and was nice to have after doing some walking outside. Tiberius sometimes forgot to stop and drink and eat as he would get totally tied up in what he was doing and forget to do this. He knew it could lead to problems but his state of mind just sometimes made him forget.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tenkiller went to the replicator and got a glass of ice water and cup of coffee for himself. He set the glass on Cattaneo’’s side of the desk and then took a seat, leaning back in his chair and taking a sip of his coffee. “So… how can the CCDA be of assistance to Star Fleet today, Commander?” he asked with a friendly smile.

Tenkiller, VC - CCDA

Bump

OOC: And here I thought I was waiting on you. Uh oh.

Tiberius looked at the VC and responded, “I am just here to discuss the method of which we are going to arrest the suspect in the Jones’s killing. I have heard we have a suspect, based on a number of pieces of evidence, including but not limited to, dna. My officers and myself are here to help in any method and do not want to arrest the suspect without someone from your team around to take the suspect into custody after being arrested. Please let me know how I can help out. I want to have positive interactions between Star-Fleet Security and the CCDA. I know this has been a pressure point in the past and I want to work on making it better.” Tiberius waited for the VC to respond. He was eager to help out but did not want to step out of place as this was a civilian matter.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

As they were talking, Tenkiller’s console chirped an alert and a moment later, Cattaneo’s combadge also chirped. =/\=Lt. Saros to Commander Cattaneo. Commander, I’m shift lead for the Orbtial Platform right now, and I wanted to let you know that we have detained a person of suspicion. A Tokeril tried to sneak through the Starfleet side and was unsuccessful. We have him in custody now.=/\=

~Lt. Saros, Starfleet Security

Tiberius looked up at Tenkiller after hearing the message and said, “How do we want to handle this? You want me to get the platform to transport him to the CCDA office? I can always beam up there and help escort him and take someone from your team and my team if you are alright with that. Just let me know and I can help and have members of my staff help if needed.” He then tapped on his comm badge and responded to the NLt, =/\=Commander Cattaneo here, please stand by for further orders. I am in the office to VC Tenkiller right now. We will work out a plan and communicate back to you.=/\= Tiberius then waited for a response from Tenkiller. He was happy to hear the suspect was in custody. Tiberius believed there was enough evidence to charge the suspect, even without a confession but having a confession was never a bad thing.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

A short message popped across Tenkiller’s screen, concise but clear:

=A= Raven wants to know if you’ve got this or if you’d like him in there too? He doesn’t want to overturn the cart mid-stream; he just wants to know. He walked into the office from seeing Molly off back to San Fran about twoi minutes ago. Jersey Clear =A=

Jersey

Tenkiller held up a finger to Cattaneo and tapped the message and typed =/\= I got it. Fleet Security Chief is here in my office, anyways. =/\= He then looked up at the CoS and said “Well… hell. This is gonna be a jurisdictional nightmare if we don’t handle it just right.” He stood up and said “C’mon. Let’s go see how deep the bucket ‘a crap is.” and he chuckled and motioned for Cattaneo to head to the door.

He led the Fleet Security Chief out of the CCDA HQ and towards the Star Fleet area of the orbital platform. As they walked, he said “So he is in your hands right now, but if this is our guy, you know the Oed government is gonna want their hands on him asap… right?”

Tenkiller, CCDA Vice Commander

Tiberius giggled inside because he agreed and was going to say something of the likes but Tenkiller beat him to it. He then responded, “I have no issue handing him over to you once verify the identity and confirm it matches the identity of the suspect. Are we going to beam him down to a holding cell or are we going to head up there?” Tiberius contiuned to follow Tenkiller but was unsure where they were going at this time.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tiberius continued to follow Tenkiller until they arrived at the location where the suspect was being held. Tiberius wanted Tenkiller to take the lead since this was his suspect but Tiberius did notice the suspect did match the description and was of the correct race. He waited to see what Tenkiller wanted to do at this point.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

In a holding cell within Starfleet’s security area, the Flaxian named Tokerl sat on the bench facing a side wall and ignored anyone who had come around or was watching him. He was definitely awake, but seemed to not notice anything happening around him. Or perhaps he did not care. Certainly his police record showed that he had little regard for the laws of the Federation (or anywhere really), and he was often looking to gain things for himself.

The tendril that had been found at the scene was clearly one missing from his chin.

~Eela Dasca, Lt. Gov.

After Tenkiller and Tiberius arrived at the holding cell, Tiberius could see it appeared to be the suspect based on the evidence. Tiberius then said to Tenkiller, “I believe this is your suspect. How would you like to handle this?” He waited on a response from Tenkiller.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tenkiller stared at the suspect for a long time before looking at Cattaneo and giving him a conspiratorial grin. He tapped the intercom and said “Hey. Just so you know, you’re being transferred to Oed V police custody. They don’t have the resources that Fleet does, so enjoy the cushy life as long as you can.” He then turned and looked at Cattaneo… but didn’t turn off the intercom.

“So I got word OED Police will take him in. They have a shuttle on the way. But guys like this?” and he jerked his head towards the prisoner. ” These guys don’t talk. Huge waste’a t to me, if ya ask me. Better to just transfer him the Breen Confederacy now instead of after questioning that won’t give us anything.” Tenkiller knew a lot about a certain aspect of intergalactic politics that a lot of people chose not to delve into: who hated who, who held grudges… And who was afraid of who. Flaxians were tough, it was true. But the Breen were tougher, and the Flaxians had taken more than a few losses when dealing with the mysterious Breen. And the Breen seemed to have a sweet spot for imprisoning and… ‘other’ things. Flaxians held in Breen prisons didn’t tend live long.

Tiberius believed there was another group which might be looking for the suspect as well. He knew he needed to reach out to DCI Pangolin who was the head of the Police Commision. He then tapped his comm badge and said, =/\=Commander Cattaneo to DCI Pangolin. We have the suspect in custody.” Tiberius then thought if there was anyone else who needed to know. He then hit the comm badge again and said, =/\=Commander Cattaneo to Security Office. I need anyone who might be involved notified that we have the suspect in custody at this time. Thank you.=/\= He hoped this would let all the required parties know about the arrest. He knew this needed to go down properly and he did not anyone to be left out of the loop.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

The response from Pangolin was immediate =^=Copy that Commander, I’m sending a request for transporter access to the OP for myself, Director Mace of the CIA and SA Nkosenye=^=

Tiberius then responded, =/\=Understood. Look forward to handing over the suspect as soon as you get here.=/\= Tiberius then looked over at Tenkiller and noticed he seemed to be frustrated with holding the criminal. He then asked Tenkiller, “Is something on your mind about the suspect? I believe the police will see about getting a confessional out of the suspect will make trying him more simple.”

OOC: Eber Vieth

NE Vieth responded to the comm from the commander =/\=Ensing Vieth here. I will write up a report and send it out to all law enforcement departments.=/\= Eber then went to write the report to send out to all the other departments about the suspect being under arrest and being help in the holding cell. He then sent it out to CCDA, the police commissioners’ office, FedSec, and the Colonial Intelligence Agent. He was hoping he didn’t miss anyone. He know it was super important to let everyone know, especially when Commander Cattaneo was asking for it.

Ensign Vieth
Star Fleet Security Officer

Tenkiller, CCDA

Tokerl didn’t say anything and made no obvious movements in his face, but his right fingers curled into his palm.

OOC: Sorry, cross-posted to the wrong thread. ~Linds

A formal request from the Major Crimes Division Chief, Detective Chief Inspector Pangolin that he would be granted permission to transport up to the platform alongside
the Director of the Colonial Intelligence Agency Alston Mace, and Special Agent Nkosenye of FedSec

DCI Pangolin

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Tiberius was hoping this would go off without a hitch but with the background of the suspect, he was worried it would not be simple. He just continued to wait for the correct Police division in order to hand the suspect over.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Bump

OOC: And here I was, going to bump it myself today.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

DCI Pangolin entered the room with a standard CCDA escort, he’d surrendered his sidearm voluntarily upon arrival. He was tall and broad shouldered, his eyes were completely dark and there were hints of black spots on the side of his neck nearly hidden by his dark skin. His ears were slightly raised. “DCI Pangolin” He introduced himself “Good work, how did you get him?” He asked

DCI Pangolin

Alston wasn’t too far behind, leaving his own escort at the door when they saw who was already in the room. There had only been a few eyes raised as he had scanned his credentials at the checkpoint, probably because they had left more questions behind then had been answered. He nodded towards both men as he waited to hear the Commanders reply.

  • Mace

Tenkiller looked at the new arrivals and nodded. “Star Fleet gets the credit for the capture. Seems the idiot thought he could sneak past their security check point.” He turned so his back was to the cell’s forcefield and indictated with a gesture that the prisoner could hear them. “I told the Chief here that I thought it was best to just send the ‘ol boy to the Breen, since they want him so bad. Well… maybe not him him. But you know how the Breen looove a good Flaxian in their grasp.”

Tenkiller, VC - CCDA

The Flaxian don’t really move from where he sat on the bench, facing the side wall. He did, however, give a barely perceptible snort of amusement.

~Tokerl

Alston smirked as he heard the snort come from inside the cell. “Any idea on why they sent an amateur to do this particular job? I’ve met a few Flaxian’s over the years, and they are usually more discrete around such an obvious check point.”

  • Mace

“Dunno.” Tenkiller said. “I hope whoever didn’t pay much, though. I’ve seen Dornan marsh rats with better skills than that jackass.”

Tenkiller - VC, CCDA

Pangolin looked at the Flaxian with a neutral expression “That implies his capture was due to lack of skill on his end and not design” He said quietly “Mind if I go in and have a chat?” He asked taking off his brown coat.

DCI Pangolin

“I’d say have right at it, but I think it also matters if Starfleet is planning on sticking around or not. You know, plausible deniability and all that.”

  • Mace

OOC: What amateur are you referring to?

Tiberius was listening to everything being spoken about. He believed he was no longer needed but did not want to seem stand off or not wanting to be present. He then said to Pangolin and Tenkiller, “I believe this is now in the hands of the colony. I do not want to be in the way but I’m here if needed. Is there anything else you need from me? I sent down all the information which I was able to determine before the suspect was arrested.” He waited for a response.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

OOC: He was referring to the suspect.
IC:

The Flaxian was still clearly listening, though he had been actively pretending to ignore them the entire time. Now though, he turned his head and just stared at them, taking them in as a group. “It certainly is a lot of people for one person.” It was perhaps notable that when arrested he had not resisted. Or he had been through this enough time to not really care anymore.

~Tokerl

Pangolin didn’t outwardly react to the Flaxian speaking but inwardly he cursed whoever left the intercom on, especially without informing them. He took a step forward hands in his coat pocket “Not really” He said in the same calm almost bored voice “So why did you kill him?” he asked.

Commissioner Karlson

A snort erupted from the Flaxian. “That’s the wrong question.”

~Tokerl

Pangolin raised an eyebrow “Is it now?” He clasped his hands behind his back “Who, what, where, when, and why. Well, I guess what should be how but I prefer the alliteration. We know the where, the when, and the how. We know at least one of the who’s. The why though, we don’t know that yet.” He was closely watching the Flaxian “But you say that’s the wrong question, then I wonder what the right one is. Perhaps who was with you during the assault and the chase? Who ran support?” He seemed mildly amused as he ran through potential questions “Tell me do you have expensive tastes?”

DCI Pangolin

The Flaxian peered at Pangolin, tilting his head slightly. “I don’t know what you mean.”

~Tokerl

Tiberious did not want to overstep his bounds and stay too long. He looked at Pangolin and said, “I believe you all have it under control. As this is now outside of Star-fleet, I am going to go ahead and head back to my office. If you need anything, feel free to reach out.” Tiberius then headed out of the office. He was happy the suspect was in custody. He was hoping the CCDA could handle him alright.

Lt. Cmdr. Cattaneo
Chief of Star Fleet Security

Pangolin didn’t look back as the Starfleet security chief left, he just looked at the Flaxian “What sort of gloves do you wear?” he asked.

Commissioner Karlson

Commissioner Karlson

Alston just nodded as Cmdr. Cattaneo left. This was not a matter for Starfleet Security, not if they really wanted answers to what happened here.

For now his attention was on the Flaxian, what was his angle in all of this.

  • Mace

Even Tokerl knew his rights and he could simply shut up and say nothing. But he had bargaining chips. “You know, I’m not afraid of prison. Been there before. But you have bigger problems than what I might or might not have done.” He leaned forward, resting his elbows, left hand stroking one of his tendrils. It was obvious which of them was missing as a stub still remained.

“You can send me off to the Breen or whoever the hell you want to as a threat. But I’m more worried about the people here. See, I’m a marked man. Guaranteed I’ll be dead in one day even in your lovely custody, and as far as I’m concerned it is what it is. But you want answers. I can give them to you. But I have nothing to lose, and your threats”-his eyes flicked briefly to Tenkiller-“do not move me.”

~Tokerl

“That is not what Alston wanted to hear. He was also very confident in his belief, which was not good. That meant there was a sleeper somewhere. He wished he could trust his own agency, but he hasn’t been here long enough to really know anyone to not have any doubts in there motives. This could be a problem.

  • Mace

“Oh, the good General doesn’t make threats.” a voice familiar to Mace said from the doorway. Jason Reilly, the Deputy Director of the Colonial Intelligence Agency and Mace’s second chair, walked slowly towards the cell. “He will absolutely turn whatever is left of you over to the Breen. But my friend and I here-” and he gestured to Mace and himself, “- know that you aren’t scared of that. So… we just won’t do anything.” He walked up to the cell’s containment field and looked directly at the prisoner. He was silent a moment and then said “No… you aren’t one to break. But you are one to say anything to save your hide… truth or otherwise. So we can’t really trust anything you say, ya? So I suppose that means we should just… you know… let you go.” One of the CCDA officers looked at Reilly as if he had grown a second head. “After the obligatory press conference where we apologize for arresting the wrong person, make a big deal about it, too. Your face on every. Single. Vidscreen. On the planet.” Reilly just looked at him again for a moment. “And then let us, of course, thank you for being so cooperative in the investigation. Instrumental really in narrowing the scope of suspects and shedding light on the conspirators working against the colony.” Reilly had no idea if any of that was true, of course; but in situations like this there were almost always conspirators and they were almost always working against something or someone. So he played the odds

Jason leaned against the wall and then said “Or… we do have option B. You tell us everything, right now, and provide us with the means to verify the veracity of what you say… and you walk out of here with a new identity, some latinum for those places you might need some, and a ship to take you wherever you want to go. So pick. Now. You don’t get to mull this over.”

Reilly- Deputy Director, CIA

It was really quite simple math in his head. Cooperate and he lived, or say nothing and wind up dead or worse. He was rather attached to his head, all things told, so Tokerl slowly nodded his head. “Alright, you have yourself a deal,” he said.

“I was hired to locate and secure plans for a particular government project. My… employer said Jones was a potential source and that an associate of my employer was keeping an eye on him for particular reasons. Something about having some dirt on him that we could use as leverage to get him to find info about the project. Since he was knocking boots with the Lieutenant Governor, it was assumed he could find what they were looking for. Don’t ask me how, that was beyond my scope. I was just supposed to scare him a little after he ignored some comms, or if he proved a threat to my employers, eliminate that threat.” Tokerl spread his hands out. “He hit me first. I defended myself and things… got out of control. In such an instance I was told to follow a procedure which included an injection. I don’t know what was in it and I didn’t bother to ask. But an associate of my employer gave me a device that got me in and out of the apartment without a trace.”

“I was following my instructions, but apparently the contractors I was hired by got hell for Jones being dead. So I tried to get the hell off this rock, since it was their mess, not mine and here we are.”

~Tokerl, Flaxian Mercenary for Hire
