At last the ship approached the outer perimeter denoting the Tyrellian System.

Moving to the bridge of the Black Sparrow after the notification, Halai felt a mix of nerves and anticipation that was both understandable and unmistakable. Moving out of the lift, she looked around and adjusted her black leather jacket. Her curls were once again loose, but her facial tattoos were still very obvious.

“You should be getting a ping from Flight Control,” she said softly. “When you do, hail that frequency and I’ll talk to them. They will be expecting us.”

Captain Michael Conrad sat on the bridge of the Black Sparrow tinkering with some readouts in his command seat. He looked up at the viewscreen as the ping came through. “Katrina, hail them.”

A small holographic projection of Katrina was standing on a small holographic platform to Conrad’s right. “Channel is open.”

Conrad nodded to Halai, indicating she could speak.

Valkris straightened her shirt as she jerked it down twice. Each movement removed the wrinkles and left it neater than before, her right hand moved down to her hip. A small blade was fastened there in full display. She didn’t want to hide it since it would likely attract attention or indicate she was hiding something. At least according to what Cosgrove mentioned about her race.

The half Klingon’s teeth gritted softly in her mouth. She wasn’t sure how well this encounter would go as her gut curled inside of her. Valkris brushed it off the reason to be because she had never encountered this race before. When her ears caught the statement about speaking toward Cosgrove, it dispersed her unsettleness and she focused on the present situation. However, she didn’t speak. She didn’t want to interrupt the conversation.
