No. We have dinner with them. They won’t do anything that would break their word. I can’t say what I think it is. Sharah squeezed her arm with a grin. “The food here is amazing. Come on.” She opened the door. A plump woman with a strong Texas accent met them at the door. “Sharah! It’s time you came back. Who is this lovely lady? Where’s Tenkiller?”“Good morning, Aria. This is our partner, Yavia. He’s outside, he’ll be in in a moment. These are his parents, Cecil and Donna, and his sister Mary.”
“Well, ya’ll are most welcome. Coffee just finished brewing, and I’ve got a table all set up. Come along and have a seat.” She led them through toward the back of the dinning room where she had pushed a couple of tables pushed together. She handed them all menus, “What can I start ya’ll off to drink with?”
Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
Cecil and Donna ordered coffee, and Mary ordered tomato juice. At that time, Tenkiller cam in and smiled at Aria. “Hey there, hun! How are ya?” he asked and gave the woman a hug. “You get to meet everybody?” and Aria smiled and said “Yeah, I did. Your ladies stepped up and did the introductions while you were outside probably harassing some poor slob for parking to far from the curb.” Tenkiller crossed his arms and gave Aria a melodramatic glare. “You still don’t know what I do, do ya?” he asked with a smirk. Aria grinned and said “Sure do! You are the highest ranking traffic cop in the city.” and Tenkiller (and Mary) both laughed. Aria grinned and said “Sit. I’ll grab yall’s drinks.”
Charles sat down and said “Hey, Pop. They have real chicken fried steak and homemade biscuits.” and Cecil grinned. “Do they now?” ZHe asked and rubbed his hands together. Donna grinned and shook her head. “You and your damn chicken fried steak, I swear…” and then she laughed.
Tenkillers
Yavia looked from one to the other and then at the menu. “Chicken and steak are two different types of meat aren’t they?” Then she shrugged, Cecil looked excited over it, “I’ll try anything once.”
Sharah smirked, “And she means anything.” She tead over the menu, spotted something new and grinned, deciding.
Aria returned and set coffee down for Charles, Cecil, Donna, and Yavia. Tomato juice for Mary, “And Hot Chocolate for you Sharah.” Sharah reached for it greedily, “Aria you are an angel.” The woman chuckled and set down baskets of busicutts with butter, jelly, jams, apple butter, and cream and sugar for the coffee. “Do you need a few more minutes?”
Yavia and Sharah
Charles grinned and said “Oh no, we’re ready.” and he looked at his mother and father to start. Donna ordered pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon. Cecil ordered the chicken-fried steak and gravy, eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and a side of fruit. Mary ordered the breakfast scramble sandwich. Charles looked at Sharah and Yavia and said “You turn, ladies.”
Tenkiller
Yavia pointed, “I want this. Country fried steak, eggs over easy, biscuits with sausage gravy, hashbrown casserole, OH and whatever grits are.” Aria then looked at Sharah with a grin, “Do I even need to ask what you want?” Sharah liked it here, Aria and her husband were so genuine and welcoming and the food was soooo good. “Probably not, but I’ll have the chocolate chip pancakes with berries and whipped cream, and one of your chocolate chocolate chip muffins.” Aria chuckled, “Alright, come in right up, folks.” Then she disappeared through the double swinging doors into the back.
Sharah
The pair that walked in the door were in full conversation as the swung closed behind them. “TK’s been yappin’ on about this place for a month… talkin’ ‘bout how surprised he was the only other Okie on planet wasn’t aware of it.” General Calvin Harris led his only child, Starfleet Lieutenant Alexis Harris, over to a booth by the window. As they were sitting down, Ali smiled and nodded toward the Tenkillers. “Speaking of the devil… I think that’s General Tenkiller and his folks!” As she giggled softly, Cal rolled his eyes “Why am I not surprised?! I told him that your mom’s West Coast stomach wasn’t always in the mood for the heavier stuff. But I’m glad we could make it in.” Both Harris’ picked up and opened menus, the elder’s eyebrows raising at the options. “My god! This reminds me of Sunnyside Diner!”
The Harris’
Tenkiller saw Harris come in. He stood up and walked over and crossed his arms on his chest and gave Cal a look. “Seriously? It ain’t enough I do all your work for ya, ya gotta come find me on my day off and don’t even have the common decency to say ‘hi’ to my family?” He looked at Alexis and said “What kinda Dad you raisin’ here, anyways?” and he smiled.
Tenkiller
It was Ali’s turn to roll her eyes as she motioned to her father. “I mean, really… you see what my grandpa & grandma gave me to work with!” Cal huffed and was about to interject when the younger Harris added. “Personally, I prefer Aunt Tori… she’s prettier and smells better too!” Calvin laughed out loud at the jab. “Traitor!” He then glanced to TK. “Well… as I hadn’t been properly introduced to your folks before, I figured it would be rude for your boss…” He stressed the word with a wide grin. “… to just barge into a family outing.” He then added. “How long have y’all been here TK?”
Harris’
“Just ordered. Grab your menus and c’mon over.” he said and turned around and walked back to the table.
“Y’all, I wanna introduce ya to Command General Calvin Harris and his daughter, Star Fleet Lieutenant Alexis Harris. Cal, Alexis- my mom, Donna Tenkiller… my dad Cecil Tenkiller… and my sister Mary Tenkiller. My other sister Abigail is… well… if you don’t know you’ll find out when ya get to the office, I’m sure. And you know Sharah and Yavia… although they prolly’ won’t talk to ya since you have declined the last three dinner invites we’ve sent.” and he chuckled.
Tenkiller
Yavia grinned, “Oh that’s because he never gave me my dance that night at Diamond Jims, and he’s afraid I’m mad at him.” Yavia stood and slid to the next chair so everyone could sit.
Yavia
“Oh, is that the reason? I thought it might be he was afraid we’d feed him something healthy, bland, and disgusting,” Sharah laughed considering the very unhealthy meal she had ordered.
Sharah
Calvin laughed as he nodded to Sharah & Yavia. “I see you two are keeping TK in good spirits! And know… I’ve learned I only have to be truly afraid of one woman and she’s currently back on Earth, so I think I’m safe in acknowledging as much!” Alexis rolled her eyes with a smile as her father continued, nodding to TK’s family. “It really is a pleasure to meet you all and, contrary to what your boy said, Mr. & Mrs. Tenkiller… I really didn’t wanna just brage over and input Ali & I into a family gathering.” He winked at TK. “But… considering my Exec’s impromt to invite, I would guess it’s alright.” Harris’ Oklahoma accent was more pronouned than either Sharah or Yavia had ever heard it as the General reached around, shaking hands with each of TK’s family.
The Harris’
The two girls exchanged a look and then looked at Charles. Yavia’s elegant brows went up, “‘TK’? Did I start a trend?” She looked at Harris, “Now look here, Harris, you might be his boss, but you better not be trying to steal my man.” Then she laughed. Like everything Yavia did, it drew everyone’s attention and attraction, and it made everyone laugh with her.
Yavia
A genuine chuckle escaped Calvin as he shook his head. “Nah Yavia, my taste for petite redheads is fairly well established and as… dashing as the good Mr. Tenkiller is, he’s not really my type!” He gave a playful wink as Ali rolled her eyes with a snort.
Yavia grinned, “Good save, General. You know we all love Molly. I’d have to tell on you.”
Cecil looked at Calvin. “Harris… your daddy the Marine? Commandant fella?”
Cecil Tenkiller
Harris nodded with a smile. “Yup… Dad just retired after 40 years of service. He’s really looking forward to actual travel with mom, instead of just going places on orders. Did you know my old man?”
Harris, CCDA
Cecil nodded and smiled. “I did a tour with the Marines right outta high school. Served under a 2nd Lieutenant straight outta Quantico. Nice guy… no idea what he was doing, though. Me and the rest’a the E-4 mafia got him up and running, though. Next time you talk to him, tell ‘em Corporal Tenkiller says hey. Doubt he’ll remember me, but I followed him in the news. Glad he finally pulled his head outta his a-” At that moment, Aria arrived with coffee refills. She smiled at Harris and said “Hey there, darlin’. Y’all ready to order?”
Tenkiller
Calvin smiled up at the woman, nodding to his daughter. “We’ll both have the two biscuits and gravy, smothered with two scrambled eggs & cheese. And two sweet iced teas, no lemon.” The younger Harris grinned and added. “And could I get some Louisana Hot Sauce with it?” She then patted her father’s arm, smirking in a VERY similar way as her father, looking over to Tenkiller. “Daddy always forgets I like hot sauce with my eggs. I don’t know why though… Grandpa and I have always eaten our eggs the same way!”
The elder Harris rolled his eyes and shrugged to Tenkiller. “That’s because Dad was closer when Ali was little… so notable corruption ensued.” Then added. “I’ll mention that to my father, Mr. Tenkiller. You’d be surprised what the hell he files away in that head of his!”
Cal & Ali

Yavia leaned past Calvin to look at Ali, “Have you ever had Deltan seveya peppers? If you like hot, you might enjoy them. I have a few at home.”
Yavia
Charles laughed and said “Don’t let her fool ya, Alexis. Those things’ll blow your lid off… but they taste fantastic.”

Ali looked sideways at her father, who was very gently shaking his head with a smirk. “I think I’ll pass this time around.” The younger Harris said politely. “Maybe some other time, though. I’ve always preferred those on skewers.” With a chuckle and a smile, Calvin patted Ali’s back. “That’s my girl!”
Yavia shrugged with a grin, “Any time. Though you should know, TK can’t always handle his spice,” she turned to look at TK and gave him a very suggestive wink.
Yavia
Charles looked at her and grinned and said “I’m not the one that had to leave and sleep in another room two nights in a row.” and he chuckled.
“Mr. Tenkiller…” Calvin asked “… how long will y’all be visiting?”
The Harris’
Aria returned with the drinks. Sharah grinned and reached eagerly for the the large steaming cup of hot chocolate. It was topped with toasted marshmallows, peppermint chips and chocolate shavings. She lifted the cup and took a long delighted drink. She was left with marshmallow across her top lip. Yavia picked up her own drink, thinking it was good it was marshmallow and not whipped cream. If it had been, the cream would have been tall enough to leave a dap on the end of Sharah’s nose.

“Oh, we ain’t really decided yet.” the elder Tenkiller said with a shake of his head at his son. “It was a helluva trip out, so I’m not sure we wanna do a quick turnaround. But a lotta that there is up to the kids. We’re in their house, and ya know the old sayin’. Visitors and fish start to stink after a few days.”
