The Gala seemed to have been a success. Jal’na had returned from riding home with Astrid without anyone the wiser. She reappeared as quietly as she had slipped out.

She had joined Urg for the remainder of the evening. They were getting in their slider when the comms came through.

Al’tok turned and moved back towards the vehicle before making the call to Lord Duroc. He knew it was the middle of the night and that the Son of the House of Duroc had been at the Gala and likely was exhausted, but he was honor bound to report his failure. He stepped inside the vehicle and transmitted the video conference request.

Tearson went quite still as he listened. Then the divider lowered. “Lord Duroc, we have received word that Chief Justice Rousseau’s home was breached. She is being taken to Commisioner Karlson’s home from a safe house.”

Urg’s jaw clenched and he said “By whom?! Is the intruder in custody? Take me to the Commisioner’s house now, and get Shiv. I want her at the Chief Justice’s house to find anything she can!” and he slammed his fist on the arm rest, shearing it off the door.
