Mika reached up and hugged her back. “I know. I trust you, Sharah. I’m just…” She cried softly into Sharah’s shoulder. “I don’t want to remember it every time I feel those little shocks of pain.”

“I know, I don’t want you to either. One step at a time. We finish your treatments and get you a physical therapy eval.” She had to find a way to help her.

Mika nodded. “I know.” Logically she knew but emotionally she felt miserable and sad and scared and angry.

It wasn’t too much later when there was a knock on Tandra’s door and Revna stuck her head in. “May I come in?”

Mika nodded. “Hey, Revna.” She said, waving her inside.

Revna came in and sat down in the chair next to Tandra’s bed giving the monitors a cursory glance. She smiled at her, “How are you doing today?”

Everything looked fine from what Revna could tell. Sharah and Yavia were keeping her calm. She still looked like she’d been crying, so it was obvious she was just saying it when she said, “I’m okay.”

Revna shook her head and said gently, “Try again.”

Mika huffed softy and gave Revna a look like a pouting kid. “That’s the way we’re gonna go huh?”

Revna’s expression was soft but certain. “It is.” It did no good for Tandra to hide her feelings. She may wish to avoid discussing with certain people, hide it from those she wasn’t comfortable with, but here, within the setting of healing it was important to be honest.
