Too many sessions with counselors, and an over abundance of faith in Korczak made her honest. “There is that need, that drive for redemption. I know there is, but I’m getting better. I’m trying to anyway.” She brushed the dampness off her cheeks. “I couldn’t let Kenzo do that alone. He would have, and he would have been lost. He didn’t demand it or even ask me to help. People depend on him, a whole colony of people.”Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
“People depend on you too, Sharah. I don’t just mean me and TK, and how broken we would be without you.” She cupped Sharah’s cheek to stop her from shaking her head ‘no.’ “The hospital, both the civilian staff and the fleet staff. You’ve make Sacred Heart run better than it has in a really long time. Everyone looks up to you, respects you. The people know you take care of the hospital and make sure everyone gets the best treatments. The volunteers at the botanical garden, and all the shops you visit at the market. You bring joy and peace and healing where you go. People depend on seeing you, not because you give them anything other than yourself.” Yavia took a breath, “I know today was an extreme circumstance, but… I worry when you’re like this. You can’t function, you’re in so much pain, and you won’t let me help.”
Yavia
Yavia fell asleep next to her after awhile. The day had been just as hard on her. Sharah, however could not sleep more. She was feeling sad and confused and lost and uncertain. She slipped out of bed and into her room. She pulled up her comms and waited to connect with the relay to Event Horizon. Finally the comm connected and she got the transfer to the Manhattan. The comm officer finally picked up. =/\=Lt. Cmdr Fayth for Cmdr Eilah Fayth please.=/\= She asked politely. It was only
=/\=Please hold Lt. Cmdr.=/\= he said slightly confused. =/\=Cmdr Fayth, you have a priority message from…” Eilah could feel the momentary confusion, “Lt. Cmdr Fayth. Shall I put it through to your office?=/\=
Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
“No, put it through to me, personally, please. She’s my sister,” Eilah said into his comm, standing in the turbolift with Ben.

=/\=Aye, Sir.=/\= The officer switched back, =/\=Connecting you now, Lt. Cmdr.=/\=
=/\=Thank you ensign.=/\= The line went silent and Sharah waited for Eilah to answer.
Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
There was some muffled talking in the background, then he spoke into his comm, “Sharah?”

The sound of Eilah’s voice instantly made her feel better and opened the flood gates. Sharah could feel herself starting to cry. The only benefit to him being posted somewhere else, was he couldn’t sense it. So she did what she always did to hide it, she fussed at him. =/\=Eilah Andrew Fayth don’t you date ‘Sharah?’ me! I know settling in to a new assignment is time consuming, and comms from the Delta take time, but not even a letter to say you got there!? I swear if you went and did your reckless hero thing and got hurt, I am calling your CMO and telling them everything about you and your medical shenanigans.” It all came out in one breath. She was worried about him, but there was a note to her voice. The one that told him she still needed him, she was still his baby sister and needed her big over protective brother. “Well?=/\=
Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
“Sharah Sharah Sharah- oh… too late,” Eilah said in the beginning of her rant, his face flushing. “I’m sorry! It’s been busy! I’ve been… Ahhh busy. And for the record, you just did tell my CMO plenty.” He looked at Ben, next to him in the lift, and grinned a little. “I’m doing something important right now.” He said into the comm.

Sharah had spent too many years of following Eilah around because he was one of the few people she felt safe around, and too much psychic input of things she never wanted to know. He was doing something, and in that tone of voice he wanted privacy. And apparently he was with the CMO. She giggled. She knew what all that meant. =/\=I haven’t told the Doctor anything. That doesn’t even scratch the surface.” She laughed, “Well, I suppose I will have to schedule an official call so I can meet this doctor. I have very high expectations Eilah. Enjoy your date.=/\= She hid her disappointment at ending the call behind her happiness for him. She loved Eilah dearly, and she was thrilled he had found someone. Even if only temporarily. All the way out there the shadow of what she was couldn’t affect her brother’s life anymore. He could find happiness and keep it. =/\=Love you, Eilah.=/\=
Lt. Cmdr. Fayth, SFCMO
=/\=Love you, Sharah. Bye.=/\= And Eilah ended the call, disappointed to miss talking to Sharah, but eager to get back to Ben.

Sharah sighed as she closed the comm. She missed Eilah and it had been so very long since she’d seen him. He’d visited her at the Academy and after that horrible episode after the Ark Angel. But it hadn’t been for long. If she hadn’t been so close, he wouldn’t have been able to come. She climbed out of bed and ran her fingers through her curls. She decided she didn’t feel like fighting with them right then, so she let them alone. She padded quietly out of the room and up the stairs in search of Yavia.

Yavia was standing in the kitchen with a glass of paw-paw juice. She looked like she was stealing it the way she was glancing about furtively every time she took a sip. She grinned at Sharah as she appeared at the top of the stairs. “Don’t tell Charles I’m having a second glass. He’s liable to put me on rations if he knows how much I actually drink.”
Yavia
Sharah giggled softly and shook her head, “If you think that man doesn’t know everything that goes on in this house and with us, then you are not much of an empath.” Sharah slipped up onto a stool, crossed her arms on top and leaned against the counter. “That man would take out the entire Breen Confederacy to get you the very last paw-paw in the universe.”
