The background check for Mr. Gran was… ‘problematic’… to say the least. Most request for records brought firewalls crashing down and on a few occb ta sions the House’s systems were subjected to probing attempts and even a few outright attacks. Fortunately, the robust security of the House’s systems were able to deflect the intrusions long enough to disconnect from the systems that seemed to want to destroy anything searching for information on the subject. Whomever Mr. Gran was, there was a level of protective secrecy around him that no one in the House had dealt with before.

Ashran shook his head. He had mixed feelings about it. There was always a good reason for that level of Security. The question became the nature of those reasons. Ashran advised Caitlyn to not make an appointment with Ms. Hayden-Smythe until he had looked into the matter further.

Ashran’s first stop was to speak to Capall. Some of those attacks had come close to breaking their own security. He was going to ask Capall to look at their digital security protocols. He left their tent and after a few questions found the man hard at work. He walked over, “Capall, could I have a word when you have time?”

Capall was busy programming a cadre of agricultural drones for Seamus. He looked up and smiled. “Oh yeah, sure thing. Let me finish up here and we can talk… okay?” and he turned back to the drones. It was at that moment that Ashran’s comms chirped with a text-based message. It read “Sir, my name is Kashir Gran. I understand you have been looking for me… or rather into me. Perhaps a face-to-face meeting would prove more beneficial. I would also suggest you ask your friend there to assist you in your background check. Mr. Capall would be able to glean the information you were looking more easily, I think. An hour. Russian Tea Room. I will seated in the back.“

Ashran’s antenna stood straight and then waved agitated back and forth before curling forward curiously. He sent a response, I will be there Mr. Gran.

When Capall came over, Ashran shook his head. “Well I was going to ask you to look at the cyber security for the House. I was running a standard background check, and we only managed to protect the system but physically disconnecting and powering everything off. But I just I got this.” He handed the comm to Capall to read.
