Hyrushi stood looking out over the rooftop garden that made up part of his sanctuary. Not many at all knew that the Governor rarely stayed in the so-called ‘Gubernatorial Mansion’, the large estate set aside for those holding the colony’s highest office. Rather, upon his arrival Kenzo had procured the uppermost penthouse in the city’s highest residential building which actually spanned two rooftops of connected buildings.

As he stood looking out over the city, he couldn’t help but wonder how… why… when the occurances of the past few hours would boil over into the public eye. He shook his head. That was a future problem. Now… now he had a friend… and a partner… to help.

Hyrushi, Governor

Her slider came to a stop and Eela treaded the familiar path inside and up the long lift to the top floors. Her guards stayed close, as if they weren’t entirely sure their charge would comply. A tiny part of her was amused at the unpredictability they expected. At least some things about her stood true these days.

Kenzo’s guards let her in and she sensed his presence outside. She came to stand near him, her emotions flat. There was no pain, no feelings of shock, no despair or dismay. Nothing. “Well, you called it.” That lunch they had had before the Vren arrived, when he had commented that if something would happen, it would happen in the first couple days of their arrival. He nailed it.
