As the day went on after her lunch with Kenzo, Eela returned to her place to work from her home office. It was just easier than going back and forth from the Tower and if she really needed to be in the office, it was a short walk over.

She had been working for awhile now and had just finished her multiple reports for Starfleet Command, as well as endured another passive aggressive call from one of her least liked Admirals. Eela could have called her out on it, but she honestly didn’t have the bandwidth. There was too much else going on and it wasn’t worth the energy expenditure… today.

Half an hour ago, she had paused briefly to accept a package that was in a crate of other things that needed to be delivered. She had set the crate near her desk but out of the way so she wouldn’t trip over it.

Eela was still dressed for work, but she had swapped her jacket for a colourful woven shawl that was draped over her shoulders and arms, and taken down her hair out of her usual twist. Eyes staring at her screen, she was losing focus and instead let her mind focus on the music she had playing quietly in the background. It was an eclectic mixture of vocal music from both Halii and Earth.

It was almost 1700 when her comms chirped. =/\= Ma’am. Governor Hyrushi has arrived. He’s on his way up. =/\= the voice of her Fleet Security officer in the lobby of her building said.

She meandered over to the foyer knowing exactly how long her lift took to reach the twelfth floor. She opened the door just as the doors to the lift opened and she smiled, rather glad to see him. “Your timing is impeccable,” she said as she stepped to the side. “My eyes were starting to glaze over.” She wasn’t exaggerating, either.

“Always happy to be of service keeping vision clear.” Kenzo said and inclined his head.

“How did the rest of your afternoon go?”

“Well. CCDA is prepped and everything is in order for the arrival. House Duroc has been so kind as to ensure that the approach corridor from the border to Oed space is clear, and your Fleet officers have ensured all non-essential traffic into the system will be halted while the Vren approach. We are as ready as we can be.” He then gestured towards the hall and said “Now show me this wonderful library Ms. Massat told me so much about, and then we can discuss our other matter.”
