“The honor is… and always will be… mine, Eela.” he said, his gaze never turning from her as he spoke. Some things could not be conveyed by words or even by the intimate sharing of direct emotions. Some things had to be simply accepted for what they were with no attached effusive words or psychic metaphysics. And this connection, for Kenzo, was one of those things. He didn’t know if would ever express to her what he had come to see with her presence on Oed. But the mere thought of her being there in the colony was enough for him.

Her smile deepened, expressing itself emotionally as a vibration of joy outward.

He cleared his throat softly and then said “Where do we stand on Star Fleet presence on the orbital platform for the Vren vessel arriving?”

The switch into work topics was, as always, smooth. “The Centurion will be back in time, but everyone else is in place anyway. Even if the Centurion were delayed, they can manage jointly with the CCDA, as we have laid out. And Lord Duroc’s ship will be on standby.”

“That reminds me that later this afternoon I need twenty minutes of your time. I’ll call you from my place as I have a bunch of things I’m going to do from there for simplicities sake. But I have to projections and the historical data you asked about for the thing and we should go over them.”

Kenzo nodded once and said “I can come over if you wish to discuss in person. Otherwise, I think I have administrative time set aside from 1600 to 1800. Anywhere in there would be fine.”

Kenzo

“Up to you, really,” she said. “All afternoon, and probably later depending on how it goes, will be administrative for me. I managed to get all my meetings done with this morning so I could focus on other things. But I don’t mind if you want to discuss it in person. Given it’s nature, it’s been easier for the most part. Because, you haven’t seen my new office,” Eela added with a gleam in her eyes. She adored the nook Karilan designed for her and there was something about having all her book right at her fingertips that just brought immense joy into her life.

“I heard the renovation went well. I look forward to seeing it, then.” Kenzo replied. He checked his chronometer and then said “Do we have any other business to attend to? I have a meeting with the CCDA in twenty minutes. And you how terse Harris and Tenkiller get if they are kept waiting.” with a slight smile.
