Again the doctor shrugged, amused. “For medical matters you ate absolutely correct. But we have worked hard to make Sacred Heart different and an example. I know where I can influence, where to simple watch, and where I am not wanted. The political climate if Oed is one of the later.”

Sharah moved on to another booth, a small selection of hand sewn quilts.

Following with an ease in her step, Eela smiled at people she passed who met her gaze. As she approached the stall, she took in the quilts. “Sewing. Now there’s a skill I never had an opportunity to learn. It must take a very long time to make one of these quilts.” She looked over at the artisan and grinned. “These are quite something.”

The woman was an older human. She nodded, “It can take weeks to months depending on the design, and many people to get a quilt complete. If you are interested in learning we offer classes.”

Sharah perked up a little at that, “Really? That’s wonderful. It is really a lost talent. So many things can come so easily now.”

“Technology is wonderful, but there is something…greater about doing it yourself.”

“Most definitely,” Eela said. “There are many things I take joy in being able to do. A satisfaction and pride in your own efforts, now matter the outcome.”

She looked at her friend and grinned. “I’m trying to picture myself in a class, and all I see is blood shed for the number of times I’ve pricked myself. Somehow I think you’d have better luck, but it could be interesting to try.”
