“Of course. I wish you all luck. It won’t be easy for anyone I am sure. Of course the risk is that the Vren will agree to things because they are desperate for help, and later may regret doing so. And of course there is a lot of animosity floating around. You all have quite the task ahead of you.” Her thoughts turned toward someone else who would be at the negotiations and the weight weighing on them. She resolved to check in with them when she returned to office later.

She nodded slowly. “It’s a process for sure. But for now, today, we get to show the Vren the best of Oed and my instincts are that it won’t be in vain. And while things will unfold as they will afterwards, I personally have other things to look forward to,” Eela said, breaking into a grin and gazing at Sharah. “Caridee and her family arrive later next week.”

Sharah smiled, “Oh I’m glad Eela. I know how much your family means to you. I am glad they were able to arrange to come. I am sure that your visit will be wonderful. Yavia told me you are very excited to see your grandchild.”

Sharah

Her grin widened. “Oh, yes! Alais is six months old now and wanting to be on the go. I was joking that I hope I can keep up. I get to see her over subspace, of course, but it’ll be lovely to spend time with her. It’s been along time since I’ve had the joy of being around a baby. I was just very grateful that this job with Oed came just after Caridee gave birth. It was amazing to be there with her.”
