The look on his face made the crowded halls part like prarie grass for a buffalo. Major General Charles Tenkiller, dressed in the working uniform of the CCDA, moved through the Headquarters section of the Orbital platform in a straight line for the office if his boss and friend General Calvin Harris.

As he approached the reception desk, Staff Sergeant Kildren stood up and came to attention. “Major General Tenkiller, the General is on a call but I ca-” and was cut off as Tenkiller walked past and through the door to Harris’s office. Kildren sighed in relief. He liked the Major General- hell, everyone in the CCDA liked him and Harris both. They were probably the CCDA’s biggest recruiting tool whether they knew it or not. That being said, everyone knew that both had a side you did not want to be on… and Tenkiller’s face showed that side was in full effect.

Tenkiller walked into Cal’s office and flopped down in a chair by his conference table while Cal spoke to someone at his desk. His entry was quiet, but that was the only concession to decorum he made.

Though both she and Sam, a four-star Admiral in her own, ‘outranked’ Tenkiller… the man’s positional authority put him in the proverbial spot just two below God. General Devri Hudson, the fiery redhead in command of the CDF glanced over her shoulder at Tenkiller and immediately knew she and Sam needed to be elsewhere. Standing smartly, she & Sam excused themselves and headed out… both women giving Tenkiller warm smiles.

The second the door closed behind them, Harris walked over to the table… still purposefully using his cane… before he grabbed a seat. “There a reason you look like you are ready to kill someone Skip”

“Yeah… ‘cause I am.” and he took a breath. “So you know we cleared the Vren’s approach quadrant of all traffic, right? Traffic control has been diverting all approaching vessels to the Gamma and Episilon grids, and we have the Kvaar’ton offering to escort the Vren to Oed. Great. Wonderful. Peachy-keen. And then we get this bulls#!t.” and he tossed a PaDD on the table and slid to Cal.

“Federation delegates rerouted to be here for the welcoming party. Refusing to abide by the directions we sent because it would delay them eighteen hours and they want, and I am f^<king quoting here… ‘time to get properly changed before the gala.’ Its a gods-damned Ixthyon class luxury barge. It has bigger bathrooms and more closets than my house. And they aren’t budging. Wanna cut straight across the restricted area.”
