Revna had finished coordinating details for the their surprise stop. She had relayed the information to Cpt Kris, and their itinerary had been adjusted accordingly. So far the trip had been quiet and smooth. They had made their first stop at Hadru for supplies. It was a quaint little way station with some unique vendors. Serving on a 5 deck ship the whole crew had taken turns getting off to stretch their legs. Mike and Revna had as well. They had spent three days at a larger station and then an outpost taking their time and enjoying it. Most days Mike played and sang and dragged Revna into it as much as possible.

Right now she was sitting on the aft deck, watching the stars through the clear dome and writing down details that Ragna insisted on having for the archives. It was a nice reflective exercise for Revna. Ragna and Seamus should have arrived on Oed by now and Revna wondered how they were both holding up. There was a soft knock on the door from the lounge and Tevna looked up, “Cpt Kris. What can I do for you?”

The man smiled, his ears flicking back and forth. “I wanted to let you and Mike know we will be arriving at Aldebaran this evening. We have a 4 day stop over. And dinner tomorrow night is on me.”

Revna stood, picking up her cup of tea. “Thank you, Kris.” The captain left to return to the bridge and Revna went down a deck looking for Mike.

Mike was napping, which for the barrel-chested, semi-retired punk rocker-turned highly successful bar owner meant he was sprawled out on a couch snoring.

As Revna roused him, he startled slightly but said “Wha-? I’m awake! Whats happening? Where are we?”

Revna sat on the edge of the couch next to him, her hand moving slowly over his thigh. She smiled softly, “We’re in our suite on the Avion. Kris said we are docking at Aldebaran in a couple hours. We’ll be able to disembark shortly after. We’ll be here four days.” She leaned in and kissed him lazily.

Mike sighed against the kiss and then laid his head back. “I was having the best dream. The six of us- you and your sisters and me and Seamus and Capall- were all on vacation on a beach somewhere. There was drinking and music and dancing… and then Seamus challenged Capall to a wrestling match and got his ass kicked. It was fantastic…” he said as if longing for it to be real; and then he laughed.

Revna chuckled but kept her voice soft, “Oh, I can see it. And knowing Seamus and Capall, along with the rest of us, it is going to happen. Drinking, music, dancing, and some kind of challenge, dare, or bet. That is going to be a daily occurrence. We might lose our minds otherwise.” Revna leaned back against the couch, next to him. Revna stared up at the ceiling. “We need to do that, plan for it, sometime, the six of us take a vacation. Step back and recharge together.”
