Cort blew out a breath. “Oh yeah. And this week has required… unexpected adjustments that I think are going to mean next week kind will likely be worse than usual. And that’s not even including the gala with the Vren.” When your boss took unexpected time off and and then was determined to catch up before major things happened, it meant a lot of juggling. “Fortunately, she’s got herself set-up at home to be able to do some of it, so it means she won’t need us in the office late constantly. Whether that proves to be a good thing or not, well, we’ll see.”

“How nice is that?!” Dorma exclaimed. “Hyrushi works late almost every single day, which means so do I. And I don’t think he shuts off when goes home, either. I get messages all kinds of weird hours. I swear, I need to find him a woman. Maybe then I could get an evening off!” and she laughed out loud.

Cort laughed as well. “Can’t help you with that one, and I all I know is that Dasca has things well covered on her side, even though she jokes about needing a better social life to spare us the late nights too.”

“Ah yes… Mr. Jones.” and she smiled and shook her head. “It’s so cute how they think no one sees the looks they give one another.” and she laughed. “But good for her! Maybe that will rub off on Hyrushi and unstick him from his all-work style.” and she laughed again.

“So how long have you been working with the culinary program?” he asked.

“Since I arrived on Oed about eight months ago.” she replied. “I can’t not cook. I miss it far too much. And part of my coming here is I was told I could help develop the culinary school here. Nice to have a fall back if I lose the spot in the Governor’s office!” she added with slightly apprehensive grin.
