<sniiiiiip>“Shut up and go to sleep already,” Jezem said and left the room from where they entered. If he stayed they’d just bicker at one another.
Jezem
Going to sleep wasn’t too much of a problem. Shivan slept hard while he slept, his body needing the rest. But he woke early in the morning, his injury hurting enough to keep him awake. He lay quietly until Jezem came back for him.

Jezem arrived not long after Shivan awoke, carrying a tray of fragrant and savory porridge, fresh fruit juice and a side of warm sliced bread with butter. Also sitting atop the tray was a hypo of pain killers, “Oh good, you didn’t die in your sleep.” Jezem reached over Shivan to set the tray beside him on the bed which might as well have been a slab of stone if not for the heavy blankets atop it. Jezem stepped back assessing the sorry state of Shivan’s clothes and lack therof, “You need new clothes.”
Jezem
“I’m glad you’re glad, I guess.” Shivan commented. He grabbed the hypo off the tray and gave it to himself, giving it a moment to take effect. Then, “Help me sit up.” Shivan hadn’t considered his appearance until Jezem mentioned it. Still shirtless, bloodstained and dirty pants. Still, he gave Jezem a look. “Leave it to you to worry about how I look.” He tried to raise his left arm as a test… Nope, it hurt to do that. “I’m not going to be able to dress.” Not in regular clothes. The thought of trying to lean down and pull pants up was bad. Pulling a shirt over his head wouldn’t be easier either.

“Of course I’m worried. You’ve covered in your own blood and you reek of musty sweat.” He leaned over and helped Shivan into an upright position, he smirked, “I should give you Orion clothing. Loin clothes are easy, you wouldn’t even have to bend much.” Though it started out as a joking thought the more Jezem considered it. . . the more fantastic the idea seemed. Orion styles often skipped shirts and pants and went straps and wrap-around or tied clothes.
Jezem
“I know.” Shivan made a face. “But I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to get sutures wet, so a shower is out of the question.” Shivan grunted as he moved upright with Jezem’s help. He raised a brow and looked at Jezem. “Like yours? I don’t know about that. I’d look ridiculous.” Not having to bend sounded good though. He was never going to be able to dress in regular clothes and he didn’t enjoy being covered in his own blood anymore than Jezem enjoyed looking at it. “Maybe I’ll give it a go.”

“No, you’ll look better than you’ve ever looked. It doesn’t take much to improve upon. . . whatever it was you were wearing before. Ugly was what it was. No one would ever mourn the loss of those clothes.” Jezem smirked, “I’ll fetch some for you and then we’ll get you into the sonic shower.” He said the words ‘sonic shower’ like they were garbage. Ferengi seemed obsessed with sonic showers. Not him though, water showers were the way. Once satisfied that Shivan could eat he left to go rifle through his closet of clothes.
“I told you, I stole that getup off a transport ship. You know I usually look better than that,” Shivan replied. He didn’t know what a sonic shower was. Hadn’t heard of one before. He ate his breakfast while Jezem went off in search of clothes.
He grabbed three loin clothes, several adjustable chest wraps and. . .because aesthetics were more important above all else. . . some gold jewelry. Jezem carried all this back to the room and dropped them on the edge of the bed. “Alright, let’s get you dressed and clean.”
Jezem
By the time Jezem came back Shivan had eaten and set the tray aside… More like gently pushed it away. He looked at the mass of cloth. He couldn’t tell what exactly was what, but there was a lot there. “Playing Dress Up, are we?” He asked indignantly. He tossed the bed covers aside and with a groan of pain threw his legs over the side. “Alright. Up and clean we go.”

After rolling his eyes at the words ‘dress up’ but neither denying it, Jezem stepped forward to help balance Shivan and provide support. “Sonic showers are the fancy ‘cleaning facilities’ used in Federation Starships or something.” He guided Shivan to the attached bathroom which looked no different from the main room. Horrifying. Ferengi have no taste. Gods he remembered Argam agonizing over the pattern choice for the bathrooms. Took him five days to make the decision.
He shouldered open the shower door and helped Shivan inside, then closed the door far enough to leave a gap, “Hand me the rest of your clothes so I can burn them.”
Jezem
It took a while for Shivan to get the rest of his clothes off and it sounded like he was dying in there. Finally he slipped them out the gap in the door and then shut the door the rest of the way and turned on the sonic shower.
When he was finished, he stepped out, carefully and gently wrapped a towel around his waist, and took a seat on the closed toilet in the bathroom. Then he called for Jezem.

Jezem, who plotted various outfits for Shivan while the other showered, stepped into the room once called and immediately checked the other’s injuries. Every stitch and suture and bruise. He changed the bandages before grabbing a white loincloth. “The steps are simple and you won’t have to bend now stand up and take off that towel.” Jezem guided Shivan through the steps, not that it was hard to figure out. There were additional steps depending upon the style one desired and Jezem explained each. “There! Now, isn’t that comfortable?”
Jezem
Shivan let him inspect the wounds and then wrap them in new bandages. This soon after the injury they still looked awful, but the stitches were holding. He stood, still needing help to do so, and hesitantly let the towel drop. It wasn’t that long before they had the loincloth on him. Then the rest of the outfit. It did not cover much, but it did cover the key points, and Shivan was careful about twisting, there was little pain involved in dressing this way. The clothing was surprisingly lightweight and incredibly mobile. Shivan could move more easily in this than anything he’d worn before. “I feel like I look like a stripper.” He was not used to having so much bare skin exposed. But it was comfy.
