“Oh, probably. I had already started seeing one,” Eela said with a sigh but even as she did the heat seeped into her body and she visibly relaxed from whatever unknown pain and tension held there being eased. “I like the idea of a funeral. There are actually some similar sorts of rituals from Halii that might work. I’ll give it some thought,” she said seriously.
Jal’na grunted. “Traditions and ceremony are meant to give us an axis to ground our lives. They can be good to help settle the mind and the soul.” Then, “Would you like me to call this person for you? I am sure we can get the guards to let them in. I will send Grul to pick them up and bring them here, but only if you want.”
“I’m not sure, maybe,” she said honestly. Eela wasn’t sure she was ready for that, but then again when would she be?
“That is up to you, but if using my car to get them instead of your own or CCDA, then I am happy to pro ide that.”
“I’ll think about it,” Eela said .
“You said people are telling you you’re getting things wrong. What’s the most overwhelming part of being in this new position?” Eela asked.

Jal’na added more of the warming oil to her hands and worked down Eela’s back, so much tension there than normal. She didn’t comment though, it was to be expected and could not have been avoided. “Tomorrow will be one week. I do not know yet. I am sure, whatever it is, will be a great challenge.” Jal’na understood Eela needing a distraction and she was happy to converse. However it was one thing to voice her fears to Urg, it was quite another to speak them anywhere else. “I suppose, not to make light of your question, it is wondering what Lord Noggra and my parents will make of Urg and this unlikely marriage. They arrive this evening for the feast tomorrow.”
Jal’na
Eela inhaled sharply as Jal’na’s fingers hit a particularly tender spot, but she breathed through it as she always did. “Ahh, meeting the parents. That can be unnerving for anyone. What would happen if they didn’t approve?” she asked gently. “And I ask coming from a place of someone who had to do their own convincing of their in-laws.”
~Eela
Jal’na switched the oil for salve and applied it to the tender spot and then continued. “Well I suppose I don’t have to worry about Lord Noggra. He has been informed and seemed quite pleased. I am not sure my parents will object, I am not sure they will believe. If they do not approve, there is always being disowned, kicked out of your House, but I am no longer a member of House Noggra. They could declare war against Duroc, but Noggra and Duroc are already sworn allies. I suppose my parents could claim a dishonor but that would only hold if I divorced him and made the claim myself. Unless I was dead. Then it is a whole other matter of honor and tradition. We Klingons do love our traditions.” She thought if her parents did not approve it might upset Urg some. He had offered to have them moved to Oed, even their home. Urg had built a magnificent House, but this was a chance for him to have a family he had never had. Jal’na would never repeat such thoughts, but she had heard it in his voice. “I think more it will be as Lord Noggra told Urg. That I refused many suitors because they had too much prestuge, power, position in their houses, and I wanted no such things. I wanted…want a simple life. Now I am married to the lord of a noble house, and not only am I his lady, I am the very first lady of his house. They will find it…odd I think.”
Jal’na
Eela gave a small nod of her head. “Perhaps. But sometimes things change and we find the right person who fits even if it comes with things we didn’t expect. They might see that. Or not, but I hope for your sake that they are most concerned that you are happy, especially if it is with someone they hold in esteem. And you know Jal’na, there’s a difference between seeking out power and prestige for the sake of it and coming into it in some unexpected. You didn’t go seeking it, it found you.” Oh, how Eela knew what that was like.”
~Eela
Such flowery concepts for a Klingon family. Holding Urg in esteem was not the priority. If anything their concern would be for her safety, which given the current state of Klingon politics and societal upheaval that was a bigger concern. In general anyway. As for the rest, well Jal’na knew that. She wouldn’t have married Urg otherwise. Jal’na grunted and let Eela talk as she would. Jal’na understood that Eela was coming at things from a perspective of her own recent events and examining Jal’na’s under that lens helped her analyze her own. It didn’t matter if it fit or not. Jal’na hoped it helped Eela to think through things. “No it is certainly not what I went seeking. But that is what my curiosity gets me.” She laughed loudly. “Alright now time for a soak. I am going to add epsom salts and oils to the water to help release some more of that tension and help the muscles heal. Then when you are done, I want to look at your brace and see if it needs some adjustment.”
