Jal’na could tell she wasn’t as focused or driven today. Jal’na had expected that, but Eela’s body needed the care so the stress wouldn’t lock her up. Today was a focus on stretching and releasing the tension instead of endurance and strength. “Alright, lay on your back, bend both legs, feet flat, and pull your knee gently toward your chest. Don’t force it.”
Lying back, Eela pulled her left leg towards her chest since it was currently the easier side to hold.
Jal’na laughed, “I would not have kept it, but he knew about the auction and thought him buying me would make a great story for our grand children.” The Klingon smirked, “The how starts with me begging Sharah to go see the embassy gardens with me.”
Jal’na
“Ahhh! Innocent moments, I know them well.” It was the most innocuous decisions that could turn thing down the most fascinating paths. “And the auction will definitely make for a great story. I am so very happy for you,” Eela said as she switched legs. “Lord Duroc is a very interesting man. I’m sure you’ll keep each other on your toes, as the Humans are wont to say.”

Jal’na snickered. “Not so innocent. I had…encountered him at the hospital and was curious. Alright let’s try a bridge. Push through your feet and shoulders. I will support your back. If it is painful, stiff, or hard to do stop. Just an inch or so.” And she slipped her hands under Eela’s back to support above and below her injury. “Thank you Eela. I think we will be happy, if we don’t kill each other first.” Though Jal’na didn’t think that would happen. Her anger and temper liked to find internal targets. “He is interesting as are the people in his…our, oh that is strange - our house.”
Jal’na
“Mmm, yes, they are. How’s that change landing for you? It can be a lot of responsibility,” Eela said as she shifted her arms to her sides and with planted feet tried to lift her body up. Normally she could do this fine and she got about an inch (even with Jal’na’s help) before her shoulder protested and she felt some outright pain through the whiskey haze. She immediately lowered as she winced and rubbed her right shoulder that she had used earlier like she was still in full training and it clearly did not agree with her decision.

“I don’t know yet. I haven’t done much other than move and select a staff I don’t need, and been told repeatedly that I don’t know what I am doing.” As soon as she was resting Jal’na put both hands in Eela’s shoulder. “Hmmm and what did we do here? You weren’t hurting there yesterday. Or did you just not mention that?”
Eela sighed. “No, it’s new,” she said quietly, closing her eyes. “I was… encouraged to let out my anger. So I threw holographic glasses down here. A lot of them.”
Jal’na grabbed her bag and pulled it closer digging around. “Tell me exactly where and how it hurts.” Jal’na went about pulling out different items while Eela talked.
Jal’na
“It doesn’t really- that’s the whiskey. But my shoulder and back were a bit sore right after. Maybe my wrist too. Who knows.” Her words sounded flippant, even to her, but honestly at this point it was better than emotionlessness. Lying there, her body felt heavy like it was sunk into the mat. “It worked in as far as the anger isn’t going to be taken out on anyone, sure, but…” She shook her head, unsure of so many things.

Jal’na nodded, “Sometimes when we don’t know what to do with our anger, even if it is something we wouldn’t do normally, encouragement is needed.” She patted her arm. “But what?” Jal’na stood, “Come these needs muscle rub and the table will be more comfortable than the mats.”
Jal’na
Eela hauled herself to her feet with difficulty but managed it on her own, partly just to gauge how tipsy she still was. A bit, but she had a fairly high tolerance. She moved over to the table and slid onto it.
“I was starting to unpick these discrepancies in my head- the things that don’t fit, didn’t make sense. And I could even understand their source.” Eela felt calm as she spoke, the puzzle slowly coming together. “Of course I’m angry at Cory, but it’s deeper than that. Everything before I came to Oed is now in upheaval, in question. I’m… I’m grieving Jal’na. For myself, for my life. I am now picking through forty years to figure out what was real and what wasn’t. And that is going to take some time.” But she didn’t have time to sit in it for much longer, no matter what she might need. At some point very soon Lieutenant Governor Dasca was going to have to show up and do her job and they had mere days to be ready.
