The student made a bid of 3100.
Then 3800, 4000, 4500, 4600 in quick succession. 1…2…3…4 seconds passesd.

Donovan, worked security at the tower, caught Cort’s eye and grinned. Clearly wondering how far Cort would go. It wasn’t likely he had any more to bet.

5…6…seconds.

Bidding Board

The pause made him consider whether he even had a chance. He didn’t consider himself an overly competitive person, but the fact that Fen apparently wanted him to bid (probably just to mock him later for it), well he was in it now. He bid 5000. That was him done though. He had hit his limit.

Bids of 4800 and 4875 were entered and then stopped at Cort’s 5000. The counter started over. Ten seconds never semlemed to take so long before. Then his bid flashed with the 3 second countdown.

Shrine clapped as the screen flashed the winning bid. “Wonderful! Thank you Ms Fen and Mr Belanger.”

Wait, what? Cort was actually surprised.

To his credit, Cort didn’t smirk or anything of the sort. He did give a half-shrug.

And rolled her eyes. She stood up and shook her head, but smiled good-naturedly before walking off the stage.

Did Cort expect anything else? Actually, no. Though given earlier comments by Hyrushi he was starting to believe the Governor had a deeper sense of humour than he was letting on.

The auction progressed through several more ladies offering dinners to movies to picnics to piloting lessons. The auction pulled in another 25,000 credits between them all. “Our next bachelorette is our Nurse of Special Cases, Yavia Crockett.” Yavia stood. “Ms Crockett will be treating her highest bidder to her favorite past time, a little league baseball game and concession stand cuisine.” Her dress was ultra-feminine. It was a captivating two-piece burgandy dress that revealed a sexy and charming waistline. The flattering fitted bodice had a sheer lace neckline and long sleeves over the sweetheart lining ending slightly modest but short enough to give a glimpse of skin, whilst the chiffon skirt fell very naturally on Yavia and parted with a dramatic side slit.

It was Yavia, so of course she gave all the ladies on stage a wicked smile and wink before twirling and strutting to the center stool. And of course as Jal’na and Eela predicted, Yavia’s outfit helped increase the bids.

The first bid was 2000 by none other than William who was showered, hair cut, brand new suit, and clean. Then 3000 and 3500 and whispers of, “She’s Deltan.”

Then 4000 by one Dr Arlen Helaky.
