Urg shook a few hands, spoke to a figure here and there, and walked onto the crowd. His gaze fell on Cort and Dash. He walked to them and extended what was probably the largest hand either had ever seen. “You are the aides to Lieutenant Governor Dasca and Ambassador Mathis.” he said with a finality that, even if they weren’t, they would probably agree. “I am Lord Duroc. If House Duroc can be of any assistance to you or your employers, do not hesitate to ask.”

Urg, Lord Duroc

Belanger shook the large Klingon’s hand. “Cort Belanger. An honour to meet you, Lord Duroc. The Lieutenant Governor speaks very highly of you,” Cort said.

“And I’m Dashiel Jones,” Dash said, taking his turn to shake the man’s hand. “I know Ambassador Mathis definitely wants to meet with you now that the initial diplomatic overtures with the Vren are underway. I’m happy to set that up when it works for you both.”

Eryn slipped out of the daek grey slider as Mastik opened the door for her. The illusive artist was stunning in the simple knee length satin little black dress and white leather jacket. “Zhank you, Mastik, go enjoy.”

The beefy Orion snorted. “Not likely Ms Eryn, but thank you anyway.” Mastik nodded to the large Breen standing at her side and then moved the car away. Eryn shrugged and slipped the sunglasses on her face. She made her way through the crowd as people mingled. She took note of all the security measures, who was present, who was absent, who looked like they might cause trouble. But today Eryn was there to enjoy the event and to act for a private bidder. She connected her wrist computer to the auctions interface and signed the appropriate forms. She took a glass of white wine from a passing waiter and for a moment it brought her back years ago, to another lifetime. Her green eyes scanned the crowd. “Vhat do you zhink of such nonsense, Vonn?” Eryn mused as she sipped the wine without truly enjoying it.

Eryn Romanov

The sickly green light from somewhere in the depths of the helmet lit the narrow visor took in the crowd and the various entires and exits without moving. “A celebration of excess and frustrated sexuality wrapped in the trappings of an outdated and horrific practice, Miss. Also, they don’t have pigs-in-blankets. High class… sure.” the voice said flatly.

Vonn

Shrine stuck her head in the door, “Alright you lovely ladies, let’s go. Come on, it is tiiiime!” she sing-songed as she propped the door open to lots of grumbling and nervous smiles. At exactly 1000 hours Shrine moved back to the stage. “Alright our esteemed guests. I hope everyone has signed into the foundation site and you are ready to bid.” She glared at the door and finally Yavia decided to lead the way. Sharah certainly wasn’t going to do it, and Jal’na looked positively bored like she might be standing there asleep. “And here are our brave ladies.” They were dressed in a kaleidoscope of fashion, from relaxed to formal. Once the ladies were all seated, Shrine turned back to the audience and pointed to the large holoscreen above the stage. “Your bids will appear here, a 3 second countdown will begin after a bid is not contested for 10 seconds. At the end of the countdown if no further bid is given, the bidding is closed.” Shrine turned and smiled at Mika and motioned her to the stool next to her on center stage.

Shrine

Mika moved forward to the stool and smiled her best, friendliest, warmest, stage smile. She wore the black tank top with butterfly lace across the back along with white loose leggings that had a lace design just below the knees. She’d paired them with a stylish pair of somewhat athletic black shoes. Her hair was pulled back into a clip. Though she didn’t usually, for the event she’d done her makeup in a fancy style.

This was not something Mika would usually do, and she found herself nervous, looking back at Sharah as if for encouragement. Then she turned back to the audience. “My name is Tandra Mika, and I will be taking one lucky bidder to the food trucks. You’ll also get to spend time with me at the shooting range.” She sat on the stool, legs crossed.

~ Mika

Mika’s outing got the attention of several people - security officers, police, CCDA, even a couple of private security folks. The first bid came in at a nice 800 credits and then another and another. The bidding jumped several times and finally began to slow at around 6500 credits.

Bidding Board

An anonymous bid then arrived. Not credits.. cash. Five bars of gold-pressed Latium.

Anonymous

Four other bids were entered at the same time, but nowhere close to the value of five bars of Latinum. People in the crowd looked around to see if they could figure out who the anonymous bidder was. The board paused for almost 8 seconds and then 6 bars, then 8 bars from two new bidders.

Bidding Board

Then twelve.

Anonymous

The board paused, the bid blinked and Shrine grinned happily. A wonderful beginning she thought. 5 seconds passed…6…7…8…9…10 and the countdown began 3…2…1.
BIDDING CLOSED

“Thank you Dr. Mika and our anonymous bidder. Just remember all anonymous bids must be acknowledged in person before the end of the day.”

Shrine

Mika watched the total go up, growing more excited the higher the number. It was all for the fundraiser, which needed the money. When the bidding closed, she smiled widely at the audience in general and then nodded to Shrine. “My pleasure.”

~ Mika

A clerk came and whispered very animatedley to Shrine. He then handed her the bid confirmation. The winner was one Kashir Gran… a Breen and, rumor had it, enforcer for the Orion Syndicate.

It’s A Date-ish

Shrine looked at it, her grin didn’t falter for a moment. Oh dear. Well he had to sign the same legal documents as everyone else. She would have to do something to make sure Mika was alright. But time to move on. “Our next young lady is Ms Elaine Pickett.” Elaine stood and moved to the center of the stage. She looked rather studious with her bun, pink blouse and black pencil skirt. “She is offering to one lucky bidder an early dinner at the Golden Raven followed by a reading and book signing by Oed’s own Kelov.”

The board flashed and bids began appearing on the screen. The bidding went back and forth for 3 minutes between the CCDA Agent, Crissixt who manned the door of the security wing and his buddy, who was messing with him. Finally the bid closed at 12000 credits. Elaine smiled and waved returning to her seat. Shrine winked at her and then turned back to the crowd. “Next is the lovely Ms Dorma Fen.”

Shrine

Dorma walked out and the response was… enthusiastic. She was in a form fitting black silk dress embroidered with blue and green Terran Asian dragons. Her fire colored red hair was tied up on top of her head, and her green eyes sparkled as she walked and took her seat.

Dorma Fen

Hyrushi stepped behind and slightly to the side of Cort and said “It may interest you to know that Ms. Fen mentioned you as someone she hoped would be interested in bidding for her activity.” and he sipped his drink and watched his aide play the crowd expertly as she took her seat.

Hyrushi, Governor

OOC: fixing split

Up on the stage, Eela had a pretty good sense of the crowd and she managed to tamp down on her amusement as Fen took centre stage and Hyrushi spoke quietly to her EA. Ahh, poor Cort. Whatever that was, the man was a mixture of surprise and uncertainty.

Belanger swallowed and eyed Hyrushi. “Well, I wouldn’t want to disappoint a Lady,” he said even as a small smile touched his lips. Theirs was a funny sort of mocking banter- the kind that was fun and wasn’t at all meant to be insulting, even if it seemed that way on the surface. They both worked for persons under a great amount of strain as they executed the work of running a colony and both him and Dorma work hard and long hours. He gazed at the lovely woman taking her seat and knew that yes, getting to know her better outside of them organizing meeting and passing by offices would be rather nice.

The other ladies grinned at the reception Fen was getting. Sharah hoped Dorma had a good time and was glad to see her participating. She hadn’t spoken to her since she had returned, but she inherently liked the woman. Yavia, despite their tense first meeting, thought Fen looked amazing and would be a most lively dinner companion. Shrine waited for the noise to quiet. She was old and wasn’tgoing to yell over all that. “Ms. Fen is offering a traditional Japanese meal prepared by her and enjoyed in a private dining room in the Orbital Station Hotel.” The bidding board cleared…

Shrine

Well, here went nothing. Knowing he was under a watchful eye but also wanting to make sure he put in a more than respectable start, Cort threw up a bid of 1100 credits. He actually wasn’t expecting to win, especially given the interest in the room (he was a civil servant, after all) but he had funds to pull from.

~Cort

There were several that were lower than Cort’s starting bid and disappeared before they really appeared. 5 more bids came in. 3 were familiar names of people Cort and Fen worked with at the tower, a forth a young man with some spare grant money to spare and thought he could help out a charity and himself, the last was a Vulcan who was well known small business owner that had a hobby of studying sifferent cultures. The current top bid was now 2100 credits.

Bidding Board

“This is really not not my strong suit,” Cort said, learning towards Jones.

Dashiel gave him a grin. “Unless you do a lot of gambling, it’s probably not for many here. There are many traps, unseen perils. If we make it out tonight without making fools of ourselves, we can count ourselves lucky.”

That made Cort chuckle and he added a bid of 3000.

~Cort Belanger & Dash Jones

The student made a bid of 3100.
Then 3800, 4000, 4500, 4600 in quick succession. 1…2…3…4 seconds passesd.

Donovan, worked security at the tower, caught Cort’s eye and grinned. Clearly wondering how far Cort would go. It wasn’t likely he had any more to bet.

5…6…seconds.

Bidding Board

The pause made him consider whether he even had a chance. He didn’t consider himself an overly competitive person, but the fact that Fen apparently wanted him to bed (probably just to mock him later for it), well he was in it now. He bid 5000. That was him done though. He had hit his limit.
