“That I can do,” Eela said, glad to have something to do to focus her mind. Much like the herbal remedies, there was something about puttering in the kitchen that soothed a part of her that yearned for simpler times, simpler moments. She moved the precious book to the den where it would be safe and set out clearing room on the stove now that they were done with all but the one pot. Then she set about toasting bread. She wondered how Sharah was doing, but sensed like the rest of them needed here and there, she needed some time and space.

It was almost an hour later when the door opened and Tenkiller came back into the house. He nodded at Eela and smiled at Yavia before setting the half-empty bottle of whiskey back in the bar and slowly moving down the stairs towards the bedroom.
In the bathroom, he turned on the shower as hot as he could stand it and stood under the rainfall shower head and let the hot and steamy water slowly wash away the current day’s emotions and stress.

Yavia shared his smile, but when he didn’t indicate he wanted her to follow she just watched after him. She stepped out the door to collect his glass still on the steps. She spoke briefly to one of the agents. She collected the dishes and set them at the sink to wash later. There was something soothing about such a domestic task in one’s own home. “Jal’na is here. If you want to eat before PT you had better get started.” Yavia placed two pesto chicken salad pitas on the table along with fruit and potato salad. “I know what to give Jal’na to drink. What would you like?”
Yavia
In addition to helping with lunch, Eela finished dealing with the last herbal decoction and put everything away. “Um, water might be a good idea, thank you,” she said eying her empty whiskey glass. It had been her third. Eela moved to the table and forced herself to partake of the pita. It was delicious but she honestly wasn’t all that hungry. Still. Her appetite had been nil thus far and she wasn’t pretty sure the nutritional content of whiskey, Draylaxian or other was minimal. The bonus was that if Jal’na asked if she was in pain she could say no very honestly.

Yavia set a glass of ice water on the table and then started to pour herself a glass of juice, changed her mind and grabbed a carbonated soda.
Eela drank heavily from the water glass knowing that dehydration would only make the hangover worse later.
The door opened and Jal’na walked in and paused at her shadow. “Herb. Wait. Out. Side. Go…be useful somewhere else.” A Naussican smiling was not a comforting sight, even if you knew them. Jal’na waited for the door to close and rolled her eyes. She set her bag near the stairs and sat and Yavia’s invitation. She grinned widely. “Pesto Chicken! Excellent. Thank you. How ate you today, Eela?”
Jal’na
Ahh, that was a good question. “Well, compared to yesterday, better I suppose, but I think it’s a terribly low bar,” she said quietly as she took in the Klingon.
“Low bar or high, you set the standard of measure, then we evaluate and see if we need to move it,” Jal’na said as she took a huge bite of the sandwich.
“By the way, I’m still attending whatever is happening at the tavern tomorrow,” Dasca said seriously. “I’d have to be in the hospital to consider missing it and even then I’d still go, just to spite him.” She grinned a little. “Besides, I suspect it’ll be a fantastic time, and I could use that.”

Jal’na nodded, “I will be very sad if you are not there, so I am glad you are coming.”
Tenkiller walked out of the shower and dried his hair and body. He went into the bedroom and laid down. he looked at the ceiling for a moment and then said in his head Sharah, can you and V come here please? and he closed his eyes and rolled his head to get some of the remaining tension out.

Charles would feel a soft affirmative. Theb Shatah’s attention turned to Yavia. ‘Yavia Charles wants us to come to the bedroom.’ Yavia put her napkin down. “I’ll be right back.” She got up and went down stairs, Sharah coming out of her room. Yavia slipped an arm around her and they went into the bedroom. They slipped onto the bed on either side of him and hugged him tightly.
Sharah
He kissed them both and then said “Thank you, both, for worrying about me. I just need you both to know…” and he sat up and took their hands to form their circle and he looked at both of them.
They sat up sitting crossed legged on either side of him, holding his hands and each other’s. It was a tangible sensation that ran through and around and connected them.
“I love you both so very, very much. I still don’t understand it, and I still don’t know why it works, but it does.” He took a deep breath and said “You two mean more to me than anything in this or any other world. And I will never want anyone, except the two of you.” He kissed V, then he kissed Sharah. “And I will never lay a hand on you like that. Ever. And may the gods help anyone who ever tries.”
Tenkiller
They both kissed his cheeks and hugged him tightly, and just like the day in the park that all fell backwards in a small pile together. Sharah pulled their joined hands up and kissed the back of his hand. “We love you, too. You and Yavia are my everything. This is home, the three of us.” Yavia squeezed him tight, “We know you wouldn’t, TK. We have no doubt about that.”
