“You want it to. He wants it to. You are both intelligent, consenting adults capable of navigating the complexities of such a relationship.” He took a drink and then said “You are correct. Its not resistance. You are simply scared. As you said, it has been some time for you. The idea of the act scares you because it has become… unfamiliar.”

Kenzo

It sucked that he was so on the mark and and she shot him a disgruntled look before she chuckled. “Oh, that’s so true it’s painful.” Her hand moved towards her torso, her fingertips tracing the upper line of the brace through the sweater dress. It wasn’t just her brain that had changed, it was her body and her sense of it. It wasn’t the limitations per say but the uncertainty of how to navigate them. She had always been confident about her body, but if she were really honest she hadn’t given a lot of reasons to feel confident in it. The good days had been more numerous and stronger since they fixed the issue with her brace, but the bad days reminded her of the changes that were far more visible than the ones in her brain. “It’s so strange to feel so… uneasy with my body. I shouldn’t be, but I am.” The truth sat on her lips as sorrow swirled within her. “I guess I worry that it would be disappointing for myself and the other person.” That she would be disappointing.

Kenzo could sense the sense of uncertainty and aelf-doubt. He was silent a moment and then drained his glass and stood up. He held his hand out to her and said “Come. You won’t allow yourself to take that step without knowing you can. And you won’t know you can unless you take that step. You are stuck. So come. Let me help… unstick you.” He wiggled his fingers.”Come. Its time you move on from the past.”

Kenzo

It was so strange that it was him offering and not her. When he had spoke about loneliness, she had known that that was something she understood and could help with. But she also knew Kenzo well enough to know that had she suggested it just then he wouldn’t have accepted. Which was fine. It wouldn’t have hurt her feelings in the least. But Eela also knew that these last years had waged a war on her identity, her sense of sense. He was offering her a different perspective from a position of care and regard.

Setting her empty glass on the table, Eela pushed herself to her feet, taking a moment to find her balance as the alcohol and her cerebellum had a brief argument. She said nothing except to slip her hand into his.Offer accepted.

He led her inside, up the stairs, and towards the room Eela had used. He took her inside and shut the door behind them. He looked at Eela and said “You lead. What ever you need, want… I will help.” He stepped towards her and set his hands on her waist. “We go slow. Let your body dictate pace. Now....” and his fingers found the fastenings of her clothes and began to loosen and release them, “… is about you. Forging new connections.” Clothes began to slide off and fall to the floor. “And making peace with the present. Who Eela Dasca is now, not who she was before.” His fingers traced along newly exposed skin as it was laid bare to his gaze. “And at any point, if either of us changes our minds, we can stop. Agreed?”

Kenzo

Eela inhaled sharply as his fingers touched her body, her mind focusing on the sensation. “Agreed,” she whispered as she hands moved to the brace, a fingertip hitting the tiny switch precisely to turn it off. She undid the velcro that held it snug against her, carefully setting it to the side. Her posture instantly shifted but it was still better than it had been when she first arrived. Standing before him she wasn’t self-conscious since this part was easy. While she had left behind the hard physical conditioning from Starfleet, the PT did negate some of the changes. Still, she had gotten used to softer curves, the places where she had filled out a little. Those she didn’t mind at all. The issue wasn’t at all her appearance, it was how her body felt and moved. That is what they would need to navigate and what he so keenly intuited.

She reached out for his shirt, her fingertips grazing his skin as she lifted it up. “Have you been with another empath or a telepath before?” It didn’t matter either way, but it would allow her to adjust as needed. After all, to both feel so intensely was to drop the barriers. Not all of them if you didn’t want to, of course, but barrier took focus and their focus would be elsewhere. Though he had a sense of how her abilities felt so he wouldn’t have offered if it would be a problem.
