Challenge Accepted (Tag Urg’tohn)

Urg surprised her frequently. He was a very introspective man and caring. She came to that conclusion the day she met him. She did not expect him to be even more so with her. Warriors did not show such…she knew no other word…softness. Of course Jal’na did not know any other warriors so intimately and she never planned to. Klingons loved their poetry and opera, but frowned upon those that made it. Much like G’enx, but Urg had taken him in and honored him for his talents. So his words should not have surprised Jal’na, but they did. They made her hearts race with pleasure and Love. “You have the soul of a great Warrior, Husband, and a poet too.” She kissed him just to demonstrate it was a compliment. “I absolutely will not disagree with you on that point.”

Jal’na

He kissed her and then slid her off of him and he sat up. “As much as I would relish staying in your arms and under you wife, we have to do some work. I will shower and then we will sit and select your staff together.” He stood up and walked towards the bathroom, stopping long enough to start some music. As it began to play, he looked at his bride and grinned and then walked into the bathroom.

Jal’na sat back and watched appreciatively as he walked away. The music started and after a moment she began to laugh loudly. She stood and went over to the dresser looking for a PaDD that had been in her bag. They might have work to do, but she felt like she had missed a lot of her own work. She sat at the desk and logged into her files for Sacred Heart. She knew Alice would have it all taken care of, but she still wanted to see.

When he came out of the bathroom she slipped past him. He wasn’t the only one who needed a shower.

Jal’na

When she came out, Urg was sitting at the desk. He had brought in another chair and he looked at her and smiled. “When you ready, I have some staffing suggestions for you.”

Urg

Jal’na nodded and smiled at him as she pulled her long heavy hair out of the neck of her robe. Urg joked she would be popular and laughed. She thought it sounded like torture. She sat in the extra chair while she quickly braided her hair. “Tell me your suggestions.”

Jal’na

“Kleing for your chief aide. For security, I think G’enx would be both effective and deserving of the honor. He would also be less threatening in the hospital. Herb would be good… but a Naussican in a hospital is akin to hanging a slab of rotting meat in a temple.” and he laughed. He flicked through a few files before stopping on one. “Desh. Romulan. He was wanted by the Tal Shiar. But he killed too many of their agents so they banished him instead. His story is tragic, but powerful. Tal Shiar took his father. It was justified, actually. He was a Federation spy. But Desh didn’t care. That was his father, and he stood by him. He broke him out of prison and helped him escape to safety. The Tal Shiar didn’t appreciate that.” and he chuckled. “Four years later, he was banished from Romulan society and territory. I found him here on Oed. He was working as a miner. Got in a fight with a group trying to start some kind of ‘protection’ racket in the mining camps. Desh almost killed three of the six before he was subdued. One of the House was there buying ore for… a project… and he grabbed Desh and brought him to me.”

Urg

Jal’na smiled, “If he wants it, I would be happy to have G’enx. He may even find opportunities for his poetry and music at the hospital - outside of his duties. Desh and Herb sound fine. Herb can go with me to my private appointments. Kleing however,” Jal’na shook her head, “She has requested to be my aide and train me. I have no ibjection to her, but she may pick one or the other. I won’t have her for both.”

Jal’na

Urg nodded and said “That I understand. Although it is your choice, not hers. She will excell in either role,I think.” and he stroked his beard for a moment in thought. “Do you fly? Can you pilot, I mean?” he asked as if he had a sudden thought.

Urg

Jal’na grinned. “I know, and I am sure she would do well in both. However, I am curious which she would chose and why. It tells a lot about a person.” Jal’na was interested to see how Kleing would approach the decision. Though she was sure Kleing could and would Excell at both, Jal’na knew the limits her patience had to control her frustration and temper. Having the woman, or anyone, constantly around for multiple purposes would be…unwise. “No I do not know how to pilot, but I would like to learn.”

Jal’na

Urg grunted. “You pick which one you want her in. Then ask her to choose. If the choices align, good. If they do not, make her your trainer and not your aide. You need someone who thinks like you do.” He flicked through files and then said “Grul. He would make a fine driver and pilot for you.” and he showed her a file. The pic was of the most singularly unattractive Klingon ever. Urg smiled at her said “Excellent pilot.”

Urg

Jal’na looked at the picture. His scars did not flatter the man. She supposed the scars were testament to the man’s survival though. Whether or not that had anything to do with his skill as a pilot was irrelevant, though might be reassuring. Either way he was still alive and Urg would not recommend anyone that was not excellent. “I haven’t used ground cars much. I suppose I will now.” She finished scanning the file, nodded, and handed it back. “So a driver, an aide, guards, what else?”

Jal’na

Urg flicked through a few more and then held up a file, laughing softly. Oh, he just knew she was going to hate this part.

On the screen was a Denoblian woman. Her smile was so… so… sweet; like far too sweet syrup. Her name was Franl, and from her file it was apparent that she was some kind of social media influencer who got scammed out of all of her wealth. Urg looked at her and grinned.

“Personal shopper.” and he started laughing.

Urg

Jal’na stared at him a long moment, unsure if he was laughing because he wasn’t serious or because he knew she would hate it. Either way she was horrified at the idea of being so lazy she couldn’tmake her own purchases. The aide was bad enough. She was going to have to figure out work to give the poor person. And it would be made up work. “That is a poor job to give anyone, for I will never use their services. It’s insulting to them.”
