Eela snorted as she settled in, setting her black leather work bag beside her. “I know what you mean. I’m actually looking forward to the renovations being done on my home office so I can work form home in a more cozy space. I swore I wouldn’t do it, and… you can guess how hard Oed laughed at me,” she said with a lopsided grin.

“But a new friend of mine came up with the most intriguing design, so at least if I must work so late all the time, I can be at home. I might end up with more sleep, which would be rather nice all told.”

Kenzo turned and looked out the window. “Sleep… it never used to be such a valuable commodity, did it?” and he turned and gave Eela one if his blank yet somehow humorous looks. “I blame Mathis entirely.”

Eela laughed openly. “Oh Kenzo, starship captain, remember? I was on-call every minute I was physically present on my ship, regardless of shifts or days off. Starfleet taught me how to crash hard and to be awake in an instant. Mathis is too easy a target but she did drop a significant amount of work on our laps, though if it wasn’t her, it would have been someone else.” She grinned. “So we can blame the Vren.”

It only took them ten minutes to get from their offices to his building. The car pulled into the secured parking garage below the building, and the security agent got out and opened the door for them. Kenzo looked at Eela and said “I plan on changing when we get there. Would like to go home and change? Or have something brought over? This will take some time, so you should be comfortable.”

That was a good question. She really didn’t feel like going there and back. “You know what? I’ll message my housekeeper. Sinna lives in the building and she can throw some stuff into a bag for me and send it over.” Easy solution.

Eela followed him out of the slider, slipping her bag onto her shoulder and sent the message to Elz as she walked with Kenzo. “There, done. Probably the easiest decision I’ve made all day.”
