“We’ll need to create a cordon around the area, in case of those vocal minority who may want to make a scene, but I’m confident security will be able to handle whatever is thrown their way,” Dasca said. “And the rest of the details will fall into place quite quickly I should think. Everyone is aware we’re going to be hosting something.”

Kenzo said “I agree. But I was actually referring to the Federation Embassy location. Gala is secondary to the negotiations, after all. We need a place to host the talks.”

Hyrushi, Governor

She was sure she could be forgiven her confusion at the sudden shift in topic, small though it was. But Jeanette just moved easily and nodded. “Mr. Jones and I have gone over the options and the best option is the property not too far from the Klingon embassy. It makes sense for them to be in proximity.” And it was a fairly common practice to have embassies of allies in the same area on a world. “There’s plenty of room, we can easily host whatever events we need to and there are long term residence options. I now it need some renovations but if we prioritize the public and work spaces, the private spaces can come later. Mr. Jones and I are fine in our current accommodations. I’d rather have the rest ready in time for the Vren.” Her family was fine in the townhome and Dash’ apartment was in walking distances as well. It had been working rather nicely and they were both getting out and about within the settlement.

Kenzo gave Eela a small look and then said “I believe that is the best choice as well. Captain, if you could have Fleet Security sweep the property, I will have the CCDA do the same. I recommend a joint CCDA - Oed Police security detail for the perimeter and Fleet Security to handle the interior… although most Federation Embassies use Fleet Marines for that, we do not have a detachment here on Oed. Whatever the colony can do to assist, we are happy to do so.”

Dasca nodded. “Regular Fleet Security can manage on our end. We have some special trained teams because of the colony’s unique situation, and the joint teams make perfect sense.”
