Jal’na drapped her in a warm sheet and then pulled a bottle of oil out. She warmed some in her hands before going to work on Eela’s back. Jal’na was not surprised that it was more tense than usual. Theraputic massage could be rough and make a person sore after. Today was different. Jal’na’s purpose was right help Eela relax and find some physical rest even if not mental, yet. She worked for about 45 minutes and the dried her hands on a towel. She started the water and added an oil to the water. “Do you want help Eela? Or are you alright?”
Jal’na
“I can manage, thank you Jal’na,” Eela said as she slipped off the table, mindful that when her body was more relaxed and tired, she could be more unsteady. But as her feet touched the floor she knew it would be okay.
Slipping into the bath, Eela surrendered to the water. In a way it was a much needed cleansing. Her apartment would need it’s own version and she knew how to go about doing just that, but right now here in this tub nothing else existed. She wasn’t sure she could meditate, even though she knew she needed it. Instead she went halfway, using old empathic tricks to get the brain to process less without using more energy reinforcing her mental shields. It would have to do for now.
~Eela
Jal’na packed up her things, pulled out an extra battery pack for the brace and left it on the bed. Jal’na always carried such things just incase. Then she took her bag and left the room.
Sharah moved back upstairs and looked at Yavia blending some smoothie concoction and then at Charles. “I am going outside to kill weeds, because if I don’t get rid of the rising anger,” and it was spreading as the news reached those that needed to know,” around here I’m going to put my fist through a window. I’m not going in the woods, just the beds around the house. But I have to do something. Eela doesn’t need to feel it washing through me.” She didn’t bother with her gardening tools, it would feel better to use her bare hands.
Sharah
Charles nodded and said “You go get those weeds hun.” He went to the kitchen and found V. He walked up and leaned against the counter where she was working. “You know… part if me wants to flag him as a felon and blow up his ship to prevent his ‘escape’.”
Tenkiller
Yavia watched Sharah slip out the door and then looked at TK before tossing a few more things in the blender. “Every part of me thinks that is an excellent idea, and you should do that. Though that might be a bit extreme. Though I did see the bruise in her arm.” She nodded towards the door, “Are we also sure Sharah isn’t sneaking off to go find him. Her anger is boiling over and it’s not all hers.”
TK smirked and said “She can try.” He checked his chronometer. “Sunuva bitch is already at warp. And CCDA has flagged his credentials. If he even books passage back here we’ll know and be waiting for him before he even docks.”
Yavia nodded. “That’s reassuring. She should get a restraining order. I know you and the CCDA will keep him away from Herr, but Eela might decide to visit her kids, go to Halii, or on vacation. I know her guards will go, but they don’t control the customs of other planets.” The blender turned on and made quick work of creating a bright golden mixture.
Outside Sharah knelt in the dirt, paused and tapped her combade, =/\=Cmdr Fayth to Cpt McBride. Sir, there has been an incident with Cpt Dasca.=/\= Sharah really needed a secure connection for this.
Yavia
=/\=Hold,=/\= Jonathan said. It was his day off too, but he was at home. A moment later. =/\=Okay, we’re good to go. Is she alright?=/\= McBride said, his worry evident in every syllable.

Sharah took the time to reenter the house and use the den for privacy and connect securely. =/\=Physically - mostly. More emotional. CCDA has handled the offender and the Major General has her security taken care of.” Sharah took a breath. Worry and concern trying to avoid voicing the anger. “Officially she will be unreachable for a few days while she recovers. I will have a medical report for you soon. I believe she has her comms if you need her. I do not know how to reach her aides, but I believe Cort has worked with her for awhile.=/\=
Sharah
An incident could have referred to just about anything and it was hard to know what Fayth was about to report. His concern deepened but his voice was steady. =/\=Understood. If she hasn’t contacted Cort herself yet, I will give him a heads up to field things for her until she does. Lieutenant Watts will field anything Starfleet related. Tell her not to worry about the office, they’ll take care of things. And thank you for letting me know. I’d rather us hold most of the contact unless she initiates it than her having a barrage of messages she had to try to ignore. You and I both know that that will not happen.
=/\=Anything else you need, or she needs?=/\=
Captain McBride, Starfleet CO
=/\=Not at the moment. I will let you know if there is. Fayth out.=/\= Sharah went back outside. She did not like herself in the music like she wanted, but she did allow herself to listen to something other than the fear and anger and frustration around her. She let that drain as she concentrated on her task.
A little while later, Eela emerged from her room (wearing her brace like a good girl) and moved up the stairs. She had changed out of her earlier outfit and was now wearing a pair of stretchy black bottoms and an Starfleet Academy t-shirt, Class of 2356. It looked in much better shape than a forty-three years old shirt ought to.
As she climbed the stairs, the physical tension was gone (mostly) and her mind was less frenetic. She wouldn’t call it calm, but she wasn’t spinning around any one thought anymore. Pulling the elastic that had held her hair up for the massage and bath, she ran her hand through her dark hair to loosen it and slipped the elastic over her wrist as she moved to the kitchen, the fatigue definitely settling in. “Hey,” she said softly. “It’s a beautiful painting in the room. Reminds me of some of the waterfalls on Halii. Makes me almost think I’m going to hear the singing ferns all of a sudden.”

Yavis smiled and set a smoothie in front of her. “Drink up.” She squeezed her hand and went back to pouring more. She gave one to Jal’na that was suspiciously purple. Sharah entered suddenly. She paused next to Hope and then moved into the kitchen. A familiar presence was approaching and she decided it was time to come in. She washed the dirt from her hands and took the drink Yavia handed her.
Eela took the smoothie and didn’t hesitate to sip on it. She felt less like she might vomit but it was about as much as she could eat at the moment. But it was refreshing and filling and exactly what she needed.
Tenkiller smiled. “Thanks. My buddy Turner had it in his gallery. Thought it would work in that room. How are you doing?”
“Oh, you know, wishing I could go deal with some Vren right about now, as that seems preferable,” she deadpanned. Ahh! Her dry humour had come back, that was a good thing. Comforting in a way.
Eela shrugged. “I’m better than before, but I would not say I’m okay.”
There was a chirp on Tenkiller’s earpiece and he said =/\= Go. =/\= He listened for a moment and then said =/\= Copy. Bring him in. =/\= He looked around at Sharah, Jal’na, and Yavia. “Ladies, we should make ourselves scarce. Jal’na! Let us show you the gym. I think you’ll appreciate it.” and gestured down the stairs with a look that said they needed to go.
Tenkiller
Eela gave them a sideways glance as she sipped on her smoothie.
Sharah gave Eela a hug as she came around the corner. Then she and Jal’na moved down the stairs discussing Eela’s back and the effect the events had on it. Jal’na had taken more scans. Sharah pressed the wall and the door to the gym opened and down they went. Yavia followed along next to TK.

A slider’s lights could be seen through the window and a moment later the door opened. A figure moved quickly into the house and then Kenzo was in front of Eela. He put his hands on her shoulders and didn’t say a word, he just locked his black eyes on hers. A flood of warmth and care washed over her, and carried on the currents of emotion was a sense of resilience. Kenzo was very plainly sharing his own emotional strength with her.
Hyrushi, Governor
She had known it was him the moment he arrived at the door and Eela braced herself, setting her drink to the side. The funny part was she had been about to call him and check in, and she was going to comment on just that but his gaze pierced her into stillness. Her mind was calmer than earlier but the swirl of emotions (confusion, anger, fear, desperation, sadness, grief) were still there, hovering under the surface and appearing in her hazel eyes. She wanted to say something, but it was like his hands and gaze forced her to confront her own state. She couldn’t run away. Not from him. So she let him see her as she was, without the barriers.
Eela reached into her pocket and pulled out her comm. “So is this telepathy thing we’re doing that we’re not technically supposed to be able to do the norm now?” she said with a tiny smirk. “I was about to call you.”
~Eela
Kenzo didn’t reply. But he did something he never did… to anyone.
He stepped up to her and took her in an embrace and dropped (most) of the barriers he maintained. He flooded her with concern, support, understanding… and love. A deep, soulful love not born of attraction or desire… but of deep commitment and respect. She was his partner… his friend like no other… and he shared all her feelings at that moment. Her anger. Her sadness at the ugliness that her once-love had inflicted. Her disappointment in Cory… and her fear of what this would do to her children. Kenzo became an emotional sponge. It was… he was not supposed to be able to do something like this. Sure, empaths could sense and some could even project emotions. Kenzo was actually absorbing some of hers. Not taking it away, that was impossible. But the sharp edges of her whirlwind of feelings were rounded off and made… more manageable.
When he finally, after what seemed like forever but was in fact just a minute or two, released her; his obsidian eyes were wet with tears and rimmed in red. He had quite literally taken her pain and made it his own. His hands still on her shoulders, he said “Better?”, his voice the same even and nonplussed cadence it always was.
