Shock flooded his face, though underneath it was unbridled amusement. “What? Are you actually telling me you’ve convinced her to have fun?” Cort shook his head. “Sorcery. That’s what that is,” he said as he swivelled back to his screen.

Sharah tried not to laugh, “It felt a bit magical when she agreed. I don’t think I can take credit for it though.”

“Oh, don’t underestimate your influence Doctor Fayth,” Cort said knowingly.

Bringing up Dasca’s schedule it was clear even if Sharah couldn’t see the details of which each item was that it was packed well beyond even the current week. Cort eyed it and then moved a couple items, simply sliding them over. Then he frowned. “Hmmm, one item is Starfleet related and that is Lieutenant Watt’s domain, but I can talk to Sherri and I think we can make it work,” he said, looking over his shoulder. “I will warn you that there are a couple things going on that might have to take precedence but if she’s committed to going I suspect you’re good to go.” Eela was a very determined woman and once she had settled on something, she rather clung to it.

Sharah shrugged, “Talking the choir here. Head of a hospital. Everyone going is a medical professional, we get it. However, hang on.” Sharah pulled out her comm and had a quiet conversation. “That was Jal’na Sherko. She said to cancel Ms Dasca’s Tuesday evening appt. That having fun is sometimes more important than exercises. Maybe that will ease up some room?”

Belanger snorted. “It helps, yes. She’ll be thrilled to not have to do physio, but maybe not when she finds out what I need to put in its place.”

Shaking his head, he swivelled back to face Fayth. “I am so going to have to go to this auction now, aren’t I? I feel like this needs to be witnessed.” Cort flashed another grin. Even though it would be fun to tease Eela he was also just really happy to see her taking personal risks. It was one thing for her to take political or work ones. It was quite another to throw herself as a person on the line in even small ways. Small wonders.

Sharah nodded quite seriously but with a michevious look on her face. “Oh I think you most certainly come. Sloan Square, Saturday at 1300. If you plan to bid make sure you register before Saturday.”

“I’ll be there,” he said, grinning. “And uh, send me that list of places you’ll be going to and I’ll make sure her lead agents get it ahead of time. And don’t be surprised if whomever is on duty that day pokes their head in now again. They’re very discreet.” He almost added that everyone was a little more on alert given things unfolding with the Starfleet scandal and soon the Vren. When it all broke out into the news? He suspected the agents would be on high alert for quite some time.
